After eleven moves across four continents over a span of seventeen years, her journey has recently brought her back to London.
The Gilded Flower Trilogies and Wildflowers Series are inspired by a desire to break the mold within the Romance genre that often portrays women as weak and subservient. Believing that stories have the power to influence attitudes and shift perspectives, Elizabeth writes in order to challenge this paradigm. Her hope is to elevate readers’ understanding of sex, love and the relationships people have with each other and themselves so that they may embrace one another from a place of peace and wholeness.

The final installment of Dahlia's trilogy was fantastic! It's so hard to write a review will no spoilers, but I will say this:

For me Red Dahlia had a different feel to it - again. I felt more of a suspense feeling than anything else. There was less focus on the sex, but the sex scenes that were in the story were as HOT as ever. I wouldn't expect anything less from the amazing Vivian Winslow!

For a novella there sure was a lot going on. While it was great to see how Dahlia's story finished up for her, this novella also opened up a lot of questions - about Vi. I'm assuming, and hoping, that the next story we get from this author is Vi's!

Red Dahlia was a page turner, and even though I knew it was a novella, the story just seemed to fly by. As with all the installments in the Gilded Flower series, I wanted more!

If you have been reading these novellas, you definitely need to get Red Dahlia and continue the story. I don't know how anyone couldn't after the way Blue Dahlia ended! ;)

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Note: This is a joint review of Black Dahlia (Gilded Flower #5) and Red Dahlia (Gilded Flower #6)

OH DEAR LORD THESE TWO BOOKS!

The only reason I’m featuring both Black Dahlia and Red Dahlia together is because I want to end my year with a bang. And even though I’ve tried hard to schedule these two as the very last review of 2014, I still have another review for the 31st…#EpicFail

Black Dahlia begins with something that was horrible. I couldn’t get past it and I had to literally read the prologue again and again to realize what had happened. For something that was a sure shot to me, the prologue was a shocker. It was painful and unexpected and I hated that Dahlia had to go through that. NO ONE in love—hell, no one EVER—should have to live through something like that and I just about set the book down, not wanting to pick it up for fear of what I knew was coming. Denial, pain and anger.

Black Dahlia was exactly that. Dark, brooding and filled with grief. When Vi and Lily suggest a little getaway to Dahlia, she finds herself being taken care of by a man I really wish it had worked out with for her. But obviously, home is home and she had to return to California.

I think the major part that called out to me was the fact that it is possible to conquer pain. It takes time and friends and love. And I was so, so happy that Dahlia seemed to be moving over her pain, when suddenly an unexpected twist in the story made me want to kill someone.

Virtually, of course.

Mostly.

Black Dahlia, like all its predecessors, leaves you hanging with a major twist and a lot of curiosity. And once you finish reading it? Pfft. You HAVE to read the rest ☺

The one thing I’ve learnt? Vivian Winslow is really good at giving her readers constant doses of mini cardiac arrests.

When I finally got around to reading Red Dahlia, I was (kind of) aware of what I was getting myself into. Time and time again, Miss Winslow has shown the capability to resolve all plot holes and give the reader some sort of closure. And for the first time since I’ve started reading the Gilded Flower series, I was genuinely scared of whether or not Dahlia would get the ending she deserved.

But of course, my fears were unnecessary. She got the peace in her life she deserved and the man she should have been with all along too!

Red Dahlia was more suspense than erotica. There were a lot of things about a lot of characters that I learnt and I’m amazed by how smoothly a lot about Vi was incorporated too. Absolute brilliance! I’m so, so excited to read Vi’s trilogy ☺

As usual, Miss Winslow has done an amazing job. Time and time again I fear that she won’t be able to give me what I want—which is really cruel, because I don’t know what I want out of this series too—but she delivers perfectly and manages to make me a very happy girl in the process too!

When I read a serial like this , actually reading this whole series about Lily and Dahlia I always have to stop and THANK GOD my parents are loving and have always been fantastic !! I cannot imagine growing up with twisted evil parents and I know it happens in reality so this isn't just a book thing. Damn Dahlia's mom is a piece of work , the father no better but this mother I want to just take her out with the trash. Who does that to their own kid , I mean really , just who........

Now this story is full of twists and turns , it is the end of Dahlia's trilogy but it is giving some great insight to Vi and leading you into her story which will make for a great trilogy !! Hopefully that is what we get next ??!! Oh and i will add that some of the words Vivian likes to use in her sex scenes make me blush and cringe !! OMG it totally works but I sometimes cannot believe I am reading those words and enjoying it !!

Dahlia is now back in New York and hell bent on finding out about her daughter. Stuff is being thrown at Dahlia from all sides. It is her sisters wedding preparations that are forcing her to be around Rodrigo , oh Rodrigo , he is great. It may not be the right time for them at this moment but I think they will get their chance at some point !! Dahlia enlists the help of Vi's friend Thomas and his connections and leads take them on a wild goose chase. Some of this chase is actually done by Thomas because he is needing to clear some things up for Vi. Vi has a secret and not only is Dahlia trying to fix her own mess of a life she is now stuck trying to help fix Vi. Freakin Gustavo comes back around and you just know he is up to no good , he is like a bad rash , just go away !! Frustrated and defeated Dahlia heads back to New York. She does get a break in her information and she definitely finds what she is looking for. You can't help but feel so heartbroken for all she has lost and missed out on at the hands of her own mother. Maybe her mother and Gustavo could go jump off a cliff ??!! It was wonderful getting to see Dahlia make up for lost time and form bonds that will hopefully get stronger ! She may have just found her calm with her man and her chance at being a mom. Now that we have wrapped up Lily and Dahlia with slightly mangled but still pretty bows let's see what we can do with Vi !!!!!

If you haven’t read the second book, Black Dahlia, then stop reading now. Here’s a quick recap of where the story went in the second book. Shane died, leaving Dahlia sullen and somewhat flailing while trying to figure out a new future—again—after the one she thought she’d finally have was ripped away. She went to an island to regroup and find some peace. When she begins to move on she’s thrown another curveball, perhaps more significant than Shane’s demise. He daughter, who she thought died at birth, is alive. Not only did Shane know and keep it from her, her own mother orchestrated the whole ordeal.

This last installment picks up with the search for her child. She truly has to go through both a physical and emotional journey to look for her lost girl. Her best friend, Vi, connects her with a private investigator and the globetrotting begins again but this time with a purpose. I can remember back in the first Gilded Flower book how atrocious I thought Dahlia to be and now as her story wraps up, I may like her more that Lily. She’s materialized as a strong woman with somewhat of a free spirit. Not always approaching situations with the appropriate means she does always have the best intentions. Interestingly, I realized towards the end of the book this final piece is less of a romance for Dahlia and a man and more of her love for a child; however, there is a great and somewhat subtle ending for D too.

Also, Vi’s backstory emerges with much intrigue. So now the curiosity for her trilogy overwhelms. I also suspect Rosa, a frequent partier/cousin in Miami, will have her own trilogy in the future.

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Dahlia doesn't like that her mother took her daughter from her when she was born. When Dahlia asks her about it she wont tell her who has her daughter. She refuses to have anything to do with her mother and father. Dahlia's friend Vi has a friend who is a private investagator who is helping look for Dahlia's daughter. Dahlia tells her mother not to bother coming to Lily's engagement party, while she is in Miami she sees Rodrigo.Dahlia was told that she had to go to Paris to meet up with Thomas the private investagator. She sees Gustavo at the hotel she is staying at and he thinks that she is Lily. Gustavo has information about Vi that Dahlia had no idea about. Does Dahlia and Thomas find her daughter? Does anything happen between Rodrigo and Dahlia?
Dahlia trying to find her daughter , she is very loyal to Lily and Vi. She regrets how she treated Rodrigo. Lily is engaged to Alejandro, she is upset at her parents. Gustavo is a stalker , he is very obessed with Lily, scoundrel. Vi is Lily and Dahlia's friend, she is helping Dahlia find her daughter. She also doesn't like to be challenged. Alejandro is very kind and generous. Thomas has feelings for Vi, Private investogator, Vi's friend. Rodrigo is Alejandro's brother and has a past that he isn't proud of.
This is the final book in the Dahlia trilogy of the Gilded Flower. Vivian Winslow you did it again. This is one of my favorite series. I truly couldn't put this book down! I loved how the characters were very well developed. I can't wait to read more of Vivian Winslow's books. I highly recommend this series to anyone and everyone!!

Ok… PAUSE. If you have not read the prologue excerpt, then stop reading this review and come back when you are done. I will wait *whistles* It is on my blog here ---> http://wp.me/p44YUq-1f9

This review will contain a semi-spoiler from the prologue and nothing more. I promised and I will not give anything away. When Black Dahlia ends, we are left with a BOMB dropped in our unsuspecting laps, which is reiterated in the prologue above and expanded on. That seems to be the trend for Dahlia’s story, and I have to admit it makes this story line so much better! When Dahlia reads the letter from Shawn, she discovers that her daughter is indeed alive; that her mother has lied to her and hidden her away with a family somewhere. This starts the story off in such a way that chaos ensues. Dahlia sets on a search to find her daughter and is met with so much resistance that it seems like she will never find her. All the while she is dealing with her broken yet mending heart, trying to find out what she is going to do with her life. There is so much emotion! There are genuine moments of “What the HECK are you doing?” and moments of pure unadulterated rightness. And that ending!!! Be still my heart… It ended how I hoped, despite the bumps along the way! Fans of the Gilded Flower series will love this installment! This is a perfect conclusion to Dahlia’s tale and I hope Vi is front and center next. There are some mysterious happenings surrounding that girl and things start to get a bit dicey with her.

4.5 +++ Stars!!!

Big stuff did happen in this book. We got a lovely conclusion to the trilogy. I could not put this book down until the last word.

This book is power packed with so much information in such a short period of time. I was on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I fell in love with the hunt that Dahlia much go on for her new life. I was so angry with her mother in this book if she were real she would be in some serious trouble.

Dahlia must search her soul to forgive the people in her life that have wronged her on so many levels. She takes you on a quick emotional journey but does not keep you in a pity party long. As usual Rodrigo will melt you with his magnetic personality. We get closure on several issues in this book and I was thankful for this.

In this book we get to see all of the characters from the previous books and we get to meet a new character. In walks Thomas Squire. Oh he is going to be the new mystery. He and Marissa will have a story to tell. I cannot wait. I loved him right away. He is a fixer/saver. Will he be able to fix or save Marissa? Only the next books will tell. Please hurry Vivian!

I am a huge Vivian Winslow fan! I love her books and the two series. I would highly recommend this book but please read the first two books as they must be read in order so you know what is going on.

In the third installment to The Dahlia Trilogy, we find our heroine engrossed in another mission. This time there’s a lot more at stake. She has a lot of things motivating her forward, including her anger at the people who betrayed her. But she won’t allow her pain to get in the way of what she has to do.
She deals with her problems and most of her emotions head on, putting up a brave face no matter what. I like that about Dahlia. She isn’t all talk. She doesn’t let her fears cloud her judgments either. When she gets something stuck in her head she goes for it.
When she needs to close that door with Rodrigo, she sets out to do just that. And yes, I loved how she rocked his world right before they part ways.
There’s plenty of steamy, sexy, temperature rising scenes for those erotic romance lovers—such as myself. Drama and a little suspense for those who want a little more out of a well-written story.
I love happy endings and Red Dahlia doesn’t lack one.
Dahlia certainly knows how to handle herself and I’m glad that in the end she finds the best way to resolve every issue in her life and closes several doors to her past, leaving room for others to open up to a better, brighter future.
Loved the Dahlia Trilogy, and will most definitely be moving on to other books in the series.

Oh Wow!!! This last instalment in the Gilded Flowers 2nd series was incredible.
Every step in the 3 part series, was captivating, addictive and I couldn't stop reading. Dahlia's story was even more intense than Lily, her twin sister.
I can't even begin to summarise this final story as every word would be a potential spoiler, it's just so jam packed with action and twists and turns. The story continues but changes so much, you have to hold on tight, to keep on board. Dahlia's life is intense, and is riddled with pain and pleasure in so many forms. Her love life is tricky and difficult, yet her sex life is drool worthy and sets the pages on fire. The amount of gorgeous men that end up in her life is quite staggering, and leaves for a lot of big sighs.
I loved Dahlia right from the start, she is feisty and knows exactly what she wants. She goes through some huge changes but still manages to be such a strong character and I love her for it.
She has to make some big decisions and she does good. I felt it all ended perfectly and after endless tears, it was a fantastic happy ending! I just hope Vi get's a story next! :)
5 huge stars.

*sigh* I just want to marinate in my happiness for a little while...

Full review coming after release!

UPDATE: From the blog

I just have to say, I was SO terrified for Dahlia in this book! I wasn't sure how things were going to go down in a few different areas of her life, and I just wanted her to be happy, and to get all of the things she deserves. Don't get me wrong, Dahlia has definitely made some mistakes in the past, but she really has grown and changed. Plus, some people did some REALLY awful things to her, and those situations needed to be remedied.

Vi's life has been taking a step forward in Dahlia's books, and it's driving me mad that I can't figure out what's really going on with her! And I'm pretty sure Dahila and Lily are going to have some role in fixing what's going on with Vi. I really hope Vi's books come out soon! I NEED to know what all this craziness going on behind the scenes in the book is really about! (Plus, a secondary character that showed up in this book...let's just say I think he's going to be a vital character in Vi's series. And I really like him!)

4 H.O.T. stars!

After learning the terrible secret that Shane and her mother was keeping from her, Dahlia seeks answers. That’s were you meet Thomas Squires, the Englishmen friend of Vi’s. I loved him. He comes across as arrogant at first but you realized that it is just a façade in the end.

Together they seek out what is most precious to D. I wish I could tell you what that it but it would ruin it for you. Let’s just say it’s HUGE.

Some old characters pop in like Gustavo and Rodrigo. Some secrets about Vi’s past come out and Lot’s and I mean LOT”S of steamy scenes to keep you up well into the night.

In the end will Dahlia get her happily ever after?

“When you can accept that you can love someone so profoundly that they have the power to hurt you, you have no choice but to give into it.”

Now it’s time for Vi’s story. I can’t wait!!!! She has always been my favorite.

I can't get enough of these three girls. Red Dahlia is full of craziness. It's hard to even put into words what I think without doing some kind of spoiler. I will say that I love Thomas. Even though he was a prick for what he did to Dahlia, I can't help but to hope he gets the girl he loves. We get more Gustavo in this one. God how I hate him but love his sex scenes. I wish he would just leave Lily alone.

I'm so happy that Dahlia and Rodrigo had their HEA. I was wishing and hoping for that since book one. These two really are a cute couple and to have them back together made the ending that much better. Red Dahlia also sets you up perfectly for the next installments of the series, Vi's story. Can't wait for these.

All in all this trilogy was perfect. It kept up with the same suspense, emotions, and hotness as the first three. I can't wait to see what happens with Vi and how it ends for all three of them.

I received an advance copy for an honest review

I am so obsessed with this series! D has so much to overcome and her emotions are just all over the place. She is such a passionate character and I love being on this roller coaster of emotions with her. She has lived her life for right now up until now. She is growing up fast and has some very big decisions to make. Winslow's male characters will have you swooning. Whether it's a "good guy" or the "bad guy" they are all so hot! The erotic scenes are so great and there isn't one important detail left out. Each book just keep getting better and better. Winslow is always surprising me with her twists and turns I never see coming! I can't wait to find out where she takes me in the next installment.

Red Dahlia is the final part of Dahlia's story. I really enjoyed reading it. Red Dahlia picks up where Black Dahlia left off. I loved reading how Dahlia handles the information in the letter Shane left her. I didn't really like the direction Dahlia was going in Black Dahlia but in this one we see a lot of growth in Dahlia's character.

I was a little disappointed we didn't get Rodrigo in Black Dahlia. I was excited when we shows up in this one. Their meeting didn't go as I had hoped. He kind of gives her the cold shoulder at first. But in the end I loved the decisions they made about their relationship.

Vi is a great friend to Lily and Dahlia and I can't wait to read her story.

Dahlia is back to her old ways. Rodrigo - Gustavo - Thomas (okay, maybe not Thomas but she was thinking about it). Gustavo, Gustavo, Gustavo - just go away, I am so over you now and I'm very disappointed in you.

Dahlia deals with her awful parents and the search for her daughter. I liked the turn of events in Dahlia's life. Her story is definitely a rollercoaster ride. Good ending for Dahlia and an opening for Vi's mysterious story.

I reveived an ARC from the author via TNT Reviews in exchange for an honest review.

I thought I was prepared for what was coming but hello we're talking about Vivian Winslow  here so expect the unexpected.

If I  was Dahlia I'd have left my mark on my "mother" for life !! WTH?!  Mother dear can say all she wants but nothing .....NOTHING  will excuse her behaviour( and this isn't the first time she's done this , her reaction to Dahlias betrayal on the eve of her wedding left me speechless) She watched her daughter mourn , she saw the pain ,agony and guilt she went through , she sat back and watched as her daughter's heart shattered into pieces and not once did she feel the need to be honest ?! I would not spit on her if she were on fire! Her indifference just kills me !

So not only has Dahlia got to deal with loss and heartache but she's been dealt a dose of deceit and betrayal as well! I feel sick to the pit of my stomach  :(
Good old Vi is there to pickup the pieces but right now we're on the way to Miami ! Gustavo rears his head and he seems to be stirring up trouble but I think its purely because he holds a flame for Lily mmmmm he's one I'll be keeping my eye on !

I was waiting for Dahlia and Rodrigo to cross paths again and lets just say it was rather explosive and leave it at that ......ok so I can't resist ....Rodrigo has a talent , an exquisite one at that and it's not bedroom related !

Dahlia heads off to London....not to visit the queen ( LOL - I couldn't resist ,thinking of the childhood poem) but to meet the delicious , tailor suited , chiseled jawed ,full lipped ,green eyed Thomas! Thomas is an old acquaintance of Vi and  hopefully he's going to help Dahlia find her daughter. There's more to Thomas and Vi than meets the eye and yet again Vivian Winslow catches me off gaurd with some of the twists and turns in Red Dahlia!

You're a real blossom Vivian Winslow !★★★★★

A mysterious letter from her deceased love Shane sends Dahlia on a chase – for the truth and the daughter she thought had died.
Along this search she discovers a betrayal that is shocking and painful. Dahlia is determined to find her little girl.
In this story we get to learn a little more about her best friend Vi and the past she thought she had left behind. You know there is more to Vi than we see – hints and little clues point to her story not being as straight forward as we might think catches the reader’s attention.
The path to her daughter is not smooth but we are left with the idea that all will be well at the end.
Dahlia indulges in hot sex and finds her own ‘Happy For Now’. For me this was a thoroughly good read.

Vivian Winslow's "Red Dahlia" is the third story in the Dahlia Trilogy and the sixth story in the Lily, Dahlia, and Violet universe. Dahlia searches for her daughter, and manages to have some hot encounters along the way. I liked the realness of Dahlia's feelings for her lost child and for her ex, Rodrigo. A old family enemy makes an unexpected appearance as well, such a tangled web. Winslow is building up for Violet's story, and I'll be interested to find out what's going on with her. As always, the naughty bits were amazing, this author can really do sex scenes.

4.5* Good continuation of Dahlia's story. If she hasn't had enough bad she will have to remain strong to get through what she now faces - betrayal, hope, deception, new beginnings and so much more. I really enjoyed watching her grow and mature. Would have like a little more to see if she back slides or not. Hope to find out in Vi's story!
