This reconstruction project will remove and replace the old, stressed girders and replace the existing bridge deck. This undertaking will extend the bridge’s lifespan by up to 75 years.

Phase one of construction, which took place last year, saw the westbound lane completed and work on phase two, the eastbound lane, begins today.

  • Speed limits will be reduced to 50 km/h when construction crews are working.
  • Traffic will be decreased to one alternating lane, controlled by traffic lights.
  • Hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Travelers can expect wait times of between two and three minutes. Loads will be limited to 4.5 metres in width, making alternate routing for wide loads necessary.
