The world was shocked by the passing of David Bowie in January, but it seems that the iconic, game-changing musician isn’t done with us all yet.

One fan discovered an extra secret hidden in Bowie’s final album Blackstar, released just days before his death.

The bonus detail was discovered on the vinyl version of the record, which features a star-shaped cut-out on the front sleeve of the gatefold cover.

As it turns out, behind the star cut-out is a layer of paper that reveals a hidden galaxy when exposed to sunlight.

Away from sunlight, the stars fade back into the black background.

The discovery was shared on imgur, allowing us all to find yet another secret from the starman himself – just don’t leave the vinyl record itself in the sun, or you’ll end up with a warped disc.

Bowie’s son and film director Duncan Jones said his father was “so clever” and “so missed” after the starry surprise was uncovered.

David Bowie died on January 10 following a private battle with cancer.

Following Bowie’s death, his long-time producer Tony Visconti claimed that Blackstar was a “parting gift” from the singer.

“His death was no different from his life - a work of Art,” Visconti wrote on Facebook. “He made 'Blackstar' for us, his parting gift. I knew for a year this was the way it would be. I wasn't, however, prepared for it. He was an extraordinary man, full of love and life. He will always be with us. For now, it is appropriate to cry.”
