Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas - The Hendrix College women's soccer team was the first to score on Sunday afternoon, but UT Dallas responded with four unanswered goals to run away with a 4-1 victory in Richardson.

Vanessa Franco scored the Warriors' only goal of the game, burying a free kick in the second minute of play to give Hendrix a 1-0 lead. Franco lined up the kick from 35 yards out on the right side, and swung in a lofting ball with her left foot that found its way just between the crossbar and the goalkeeper's gloves. The score marked Franco's second goal of the season. The goal marked as the Warriors' fastest tally of the season, putting the team ahead just 104 seconds into play.

UT Dallas did not just go quietly though. The Comets ramped up their offensive pressure after surrendering the goal, and responded with a pair of scores in the 21st minute and 36th minute to take a 2-1 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, the Comets continued their pressure, outshooting the Warriors 20-5 in the second half. The home team added to their lead on a pair of goals in the 64th and 68th to extend their lead to 4-1. 

Jordan Rausch took the loss in net for the Warriors, despite making nine saves in the first half. Michaela Seltzer entered in the second half, making eight saves in her third appearance of the season. Macaire Ament earned the win for UT Dallas but did not register a save in 72 minutes of action. Kristi Istre made two saves off the bench for the Comets in the final 18 minutes.

Hendrix moves to 5-4-0 on the season and will begin their conference play on Saturday, October 4 when they host Southern Athletic Association opponent Rhodes College.
