The recent flare-up about Floyd Mayweather's supposed inability to read has taken another turn thanks to his publicist Kelly Swanson. In an email addressed to "Media Members", Swanson—who has represented athletes and fighters such as Bernard Hopkins and Oscar de la Hoya in the past—said:

I have worked with Floyd Mayweather since 2005 and feel it is only right that I come to his defense.  The unfair reports that Floyd cannot read, which have been posted on social media by various individuals and reported by certain media outlets, are simply not true.

From there, Swanson provided a video of Mayweather reading scripted lines provided to him while taping promotional spots for his past fight against Marcos Maidana, as well as CBS Sports.

You can watch the video of Mayweather reciting his lines above. Does this video convince you of anything? Clearly, Pretty Boy Floyd's team is hoping that this will silence his haters.

Mayweather has been forced to answer criticisms about his reading ability due to an Instagram posted by 50 Cent wherein the rapper challenged him to read a page out of a Harry Potter book on live television. The harassment against Mayweather only grew louder after Power 105.1's Charlamagne released audio footage of Mayweather struggling to read a scripted radio spot for the station. Thus far, Money Mayweather's only response has come from his checkbook
