Vinod Kambli lashes out at Indian selectors for ignoring few Mumbai cricketers for West Indies tour

Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur are the three players selected from the Mumbai team.

Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli has taken to Twitter to lash out at the selectors for not picking the right side for India’s upcoming Test series West Indies. Kambli reckons players like Shreyas Iyer, Aditya Tare and Siddhesh Lad, who were the pillars for Mumbai’s win in the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 season were not picked for either tours, but Mumbai’s leading wicket-taker Shardul Thakur finds his place in the Indian Test side. which will tour West Indies in July 2016. Overall, three cricketers from Mumbai were picked in the Test team. These were Rohit Sharma, Rhakur and Ajinkya Rahane, who has been elevated to the post of vice-captaincy. However, Kambli believes that the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja and Wriddhiman Saha should not have been given chances ahead of Shreyas, Tare and Lad. India will also play three One-Day Internationals (ODI) and three T20 Internationals (T20I) against Zimbabwe, beginning from June 10. Kambli has represented Indian in 17 Tests and 104 ODIs. He has scored 1084 runs in Tests and 2477 runs in ODIs. Kambli’s career was controversial and was therefore cut short after just seven years. He was considered one of the brightest cricketers in India among players like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and others.
