ROCK HILL, S.C. – The South Carolina State men's and women's cross country teams ran in the 2014 Winthrop University Adidas Cross Country Invitational this past weekend. The men finished in 5
th place, while the women finished 7
th.
Leading the Lady Bulldogs and finishing 18
th overall was
Marketa Marcanikova in a time of 19 minutes, 19.54 seconds. Kyla Van Graan of Coastal Carolina was the individual winner, finishing in 17:18.93.
The remaining Lady Bulldog finishers were:
Jennell Jones (20:48.37),
Jenae Jones (21:01.46),
Jazmyne Jones (21:33.80),
Breonna Green (24:35.21) and
Nikkia Jefferson (26:54.14).
On the men's side,
Elijah Case led the Bulldog effort by finishing 45
th in 31:11.13. Micheal Ellis of Appalachian State won the race in 25:36.49.
Keshon Green (36:16.48), Michael Stackhouse (38:04.99) and
Khorvon Nelson (39:55.82) also finished for SC State.
Both teams travel to Mt. Pleasant, S.C. this weekend to run at the Will Wilson Citadel Invitational at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
