I was honored to receive this book for my honest review.
This is the second book that I have read by this author. Love on Hold was the first book and to be truthfully honest you definitely have to read the first book in order to understand this book.
Zachary the guy that keeps everything bottled up to some extent. He is the guy that one-nightstands are made up of.
Shaina is the quiet, keep to yourself kind of girl.
“You know how to move your body outside of the bedroom, commanding my attention is your forte” Zachary to Shaina.
The journey with this couple is a hard one to wrap your head around because Zachary has his mind always on Shaina. They have this brief encounter first. However that brief encounter is just a little taste for Shaina wanted to put herself to a test and completed the test with a passing grade.
Zachary is always able to get a woman with a snap of his fingers because all they wanted was his wealth. Shaina was a force to be reckoned with cause she didn’t even care about his wealth she just wanted to know the man behind the eyes. So Shaina offers him part of her test but does he take that test?
Zachary and Shaina have many obstacles in this book to conqueror personal ones and matters of family friends. This book I admit is a little hard to follow. In order to get the full effect of this book you have got to read (Love on Hold) and then pick up this book.
Hot little tip.The sex is get the ice cubes ready HOT and FOG UP THE WINDOW STEAMY.
This author does one amazing job with this read. I do however wish the focus could have been a little more on the couple’s journey to finding one another and not everyone else. Knowing that everyone seems play an intricate part but it seems to me like the journey between Zachary and Shaina was taken the long way around. I really hope that you enjoy this book as much as I did.

When I saw that this was book two I looked up the first book in the series, Love on Hold, and when I saw that it was free on Amazon I just had to get it and read it first. Thank goodness I did! These stories are linked through the family and friends who surround the main couples and you’d have to start at the beginning as not to miss out.
Shaina was always more of a party girl, but when she was given the opportunity to better herself through her job she settled down a lot and put her focus on doing well and not letting down the boss she had grown to greatly respect. When a promotion gives her something to celebrate though, she lets her hair down and gives her inner party girl a night of fun… A stranger she can’t look away from and a night of intensely satisfying celebration. She definitely knew what she wanted!
Zachary’s mind is usually on business, he doesn’t go anywhere near anything that could involve emotions. His childhood broke his emotional ties and although he has a great family who loves him his parent’s will always haunt him. So when a sexy woman offers him one night of ravishment he’s all aboard. It’s how he feels afterward that changes everything for him.
Two people who don’t want attachments, one willing to give into desire basically forcing the other to not ignore it either, equals out into a sweet, caring, and ultimately passionate relationship. In An Unexpected Encounter family ties will consume, walls will crash down, and passion will reign.
The storyline is good, the characters are well written, but the editing is incredibly bad. There are extra words where there shouldn’t be any, missing words that you have to fill in in your head, and an occasional mix-up between character names.
My Favorite Moment: Hello gym! It’s a really good thing there aren’t cameras in the locker rooms.

The Wilkins family is tight. They work together and play together. An Unexpected Encounter is book 2 of the Wilkins series by Robin Shaw and centers around the eldest “Wilkins” child, Zachary. This is the story of how Zachary comes to find himself paired up with one Shaina Hayes. Told from the 3rd person POV but mostly through Shaina’s perspective, it’s a steamy romance that starts with a one night stand instigated by Shaina.
Shaina's character is a hard nut to crack. She’s likable as she is honest about who she is and what she “thinks” she wants. You will find yourself rooting for her as she is tested by a co-worker and she does her best to keep her distance with Zachary. But Zachery is a force and makes it impossible for Shaina to ignore him. She wants intimacy but very much on her own terms and is unapologetic with her sexuality. She seemingly doesn't want a husband, at least not yet, and she struggles to let anyone in on her emotions and boy does she talk a good game.
The story is set up to be a standalone, but I found that at times I felt like I needed more context on the other family members. There are many sub-plots centered on the other Wilkins children and I felt that there was some backstory that I was missing. Since I had book 1, I did a quick read through some initial chapters so that I could try to understand who was who more clearly. My suggestion is to read these in order, regardless of how they are positioned as standalone.
The story is steamy and the sex scenes are well done, very well done in fact. There was the promise of some angst but it was never fully realized. However, Zachary and Shaina faced a few obstacles. Most of their angst is simply around them coming to terms with what they want from each other. It is a quick read and perfect company for a long afternoon on the beach.

This is the second book in this series. Zachary Wilkins is the adopted nephew of the Wilkins family, however , Aaron, Aimee, and Wyatt think of him as their brother. Their are times when Zachary likes to remind himself he is only the nephew, for secrets he has never shared. Aaron and his brothers and some of their friends are at Joey's bar to celebrate before the wedding. At the end of the evening most of them leave, but Zachary wants to hang around for a while. Shiana Hayes has stopped at Joey's for a drink and she checks out the men. She is feeling lonely and what the heck, if a man can do it so can women. She spots a very handsome man at a table all alone. She watches him for a while to make sure he doesn't have anyone with him. She approaches him and asks if she can sit down. She introduces herself to him and buys them a drink. She has picked Zachary Wilkins, but she doesn't know him. They only give first names and start flirting with one another. She takes him back to her room where they have the best sex of her life. He gets a call and leaves abruptly. She doesn't plan on seeing him again, but as fate has it she runs into him at her bosses wedding. She works for Mariah who is marrying Aaron Wilkins. She is invited to the wedding and only when the wedding party comes out does she realize who he is. He corners her later and tries to talk to her but she says she doesn't think that is a good idea, since she works for Mariah as a tech. Later when there is a problem with one of the Wilkins brothers businesses Shiana is sent to the company to fix the problem. She doesn't realize whose company it is until Wyatt comes in. I don't want to give to much away. This book does have explicit sexual scenes and their will be a next one, so it will leave you hanging, but I know you will enjoy the story

This was a sweet book. I am intrigued by Logan and feel bad for Michael. I do hope his ex comes to her senses he is too sweet for that to happen to him. Wyatt the ladies man cracked me up. I do hope he gets knocked on his butt by a woman and she makes him work for her.

Shaina's puts up a wall to keep others away and is also very low on self esteem. Not believing she is worth the effort or even thinking she is good for anything. This is slowly changing thanks to Mariah her boss but when Zach comes into the picture he really helps her.

This was just as good as the first book in this series. Loved every minute of it. I was hoping for a little more with the ending. It wasn't bad but I wish there was more. I felt it left the characters hanging. I was wondering what happens next? I felt the writer almost seemed in a rush to end the book as it almost abruptly picks up nearing the end and then all of a sudden there was no more. I know this is the last book in the series, I am not sure if more are coming. I truly hope there will be more because I absolutely love The Wilkins family and would love to see the rest of the brothers and Aimee have a happy ending as well as find out what else happens with Shaina and Zachary. Overall loved the story and characters so much.

This is book two in this series. I only read this book. However it was so good I'm gonna go back and read book one.
This is a really hot steamy read. It's the story of Zachary and Shaina. Zachary is from a wealthy family. He's hot!! Shaina is a quiet girl with low self asteem. These two end up having a really hot one night stand. On each other's minds since that night they meet again at a wedding. Grab a cold drink and get ready for a really great read.
