KUTZTOWN, PA. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (15-9, 9-7 PSAC) fell, 3-1 (22-25, 21-25, 25-22, & 17-25) to Kutztown University (11-13, 5-11 PSAC) on the road in conference action.
After falling in two straight sets the Lady Eagles battled back to win the third set, 25-22. The late rally proved to be not enough as Kutztown won the third set, 25-17 and sealed a, 3-1 (22-25, 21-25, 15-22, & 17-25) victory.
Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) led the Lady Eagles will 11 kills and added five digs.
Freshman
Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll) tried to spark The Haven attack with nine kills and 16 digs.
Toryn Quivers (Mercersburg, Pa./James Buchanan) added seven kills, three assisted blocks, and three solo blocks in the loss.
Kaleigh Hudak (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) recorded six kills and two assisted blocks.
Megan Flick (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle) and
Stephanie Doherty (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot) added five kills, respectively.
Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) dished out 36 assists and added nine digs.
Sydney Belcastro (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hopewell) defensively led LHU with 27 digs and senior
Bethany Burns (Erie, Pa./McDowell) added 15 digs.
LHU recorded six aces and 10 solo blocks in the loss.
The Lady Eagles are right back in action tomorrow (Saturday, October 25) on the road at East Stroudsburg (1 pm) in conference play.
