Charmey Punches Ticket to NPSL Championship with Chattanooga FC

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – West Alabama junior midfielder Thibault Charmey has advanced one step closer to winning the National Premier Soccer League Championship with his team Chattanooga FC.

CFC defeated the Sacramento Gold 4-1 on Saturday in front of a record breaking crowd (8,878 fans) at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga. The win punched a ticket to Chattanooga's third NPSL Finals match in five years (last in 2012). It has has yet to win the title, losing in the final to Sacramento in 2010.   

Charmey, who will return to UWA in August as the 2013 Gulf South Conference Player of the Year, is a second year starter for the Chattanooga midfield.

CFC will take on the New York Red Bulls U-23 for the 2014 NPSL National Championship on August 2 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. The time is to be announced. See chattanoogafc.com for more details.
