A late night crash Sunday in North Portland injured six people.

Gabriel Watson, spokesman for Portland Fire and Rescue, said the crash involved a four-door sedan and a pickup truck in the 8900 block of North Columbia Boulevard. Five people in the vehicles -- four adults and one child -- and a sixth person were injured.

When crews arrived a crowd of about 50 people were milling around, complicating the work of firefighters as they got people out of the vehicles.

"It happened outside a busy apartment complex," Watson said. "There were a lot of people there. It was hard to determine who was involved, who was helping and who was in the way."

It's not clear how the sixth person was injured. All of them were transported to area hospitals, Watson said.
