Kid Moxie is the nom de tune of L.A.-based Elena Charbila, a Greek singer, songwriter and actress with a deft touch for the cinematic, most of it deliciously noir and Euro. Take her new pulsing single “Dirty Air” — it’s like a luxury car with tinted windows cruising rain-slickened streets “in a city that towers over like a ghost,” as she coos. The synth-propelled tune is the first from Kid Moxie’s EP, “Perfect Shadow,” which comes out July 3 and follows up her 2014 effort “1988.” That release featured collaborations with The Gaslamp Killer (with whom she worked on the new release as well) and David Lynch’s composer, Angelo Badalamenti, who teamed up with Kid Moxie to rework “Mysteries of Love.” The video for the latter track was premiered last year at “The Music of David Lynch” at the Theatre at Ace Hotel, and director Keith Musil’s visual for the new song gets better with each hook.
