QA₂ Max PODCAST: Maksim Korolev, Stanford

NEW ORLEANS – Same face, same quick pace, different place: After making a name for himself at Harvard as the third-place finisher at NCAAs a year ago, Maksim Korolev is back and ready to take one final shot at the NCAA title, this time in Stanford’s Cardinal, black and white.

The Harvard grad moved to Palo Alto, California, over the summer to pursue his graduate studies at Stanford, where he will use up his remaining eligibility in this current cross country season and the 2015 outdoor track campaign.

He’s off to a stellar start with a big win at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational, but his analysis of his race might surprise you – and spook the rest of the NCAA.

We chat about that and more on today’s QA₂ Max  podcast, including the upcoming championships season, the move from Harvard to Stanford, the possibility of running national/international cross country this winter, and, of course, Dragon Ball Z.

If you missed it yesterday, check out our visit with Iowa State’s Crystal Nelson or dig through our podcasts archives here. Check back in tomorrow for our conversation with Baylor’s Rachel Johnson, and Flocasts’/Milesplit’s Ryan Fenton joins us Thursday as we break down the upcoming conference championship weekend in DI and DIII.
