Partnering opportunities at Farnborough International Air Show

UK defence and security SMEs discussed new export and partnering opportunities at 'Meet the Buyer' event.

UK Trade and Investment Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO) once again hosted ‘Meet the Buyer’ sessions for UK Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at the Farnborough International Air Show.

These have proved to be very popular in the past, and this year was no exception.

This year UKTI DSO welcomed overseas guests from the US and India, who wished to meet UK SMEs and discuss the prospects of direct export sales or partnering opportunities to win overseas business.

Discussions took place in an informal networking setting, and feedback from both groups was extremely positive. UKTI DSO will be working hard to ensure that the dialogue continues in the weeks and months to come.

US session

UKTI DSO welcolmed members of Invest Florida and Invest Missouri, 2 business consortia with keen interest in partnering with UK firms for mutual benefit.

They were joined by representatives from the US government’s Foreign Comparative Testing team and a US government expert on export control, both of whom were able to offer valuable advice.

India session

UKTI welcomed represenatives from:

  • Indian government officials

  • Indian High Commission (London)

  • the Confederation of Indian Industry

  • the Indian branch of the ADS trade association
