Lionsgate has teamed up with Google on District Voices, a YouTube series to promote the upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1.
The five-episode series invites popular YouTube creators, including Rob Czar and Corinne Leigh, Derek Muller, Jimmy Wong and Ashley Adams of the Feast of Fiction YouTube channel, to imagine Panem, the fictional world behind the Hunger Games movie franchise.
“We cannot think of a better partner than these incredible YouTube stars, who truly bring new content to life in the world of Panem and extend our storytelling to online audiences in exciting new directions,” Lionsgate executive vp digital marketing Danielle De Palma said Monday in a statement.

The District Voices promotion is part of Art, Copy & Code, a Google project series that enables brands to connect with consumers through interactive entertainment. The five episodes start streaming today on the movie’s Capitol TV website and the YouTube channel for the Hunger Games franchise.
The videos were developed by a team at YouTube Space LA, and were shot in and around Los Angeles.
They will run daily this week with the final video, District 6, directed by iJustine’s Justine Ezarik, arriving on Friday. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, directed by Francis Lawrence, hits theaters on Nov. 21.
The latest film sees Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, in District 13, alongside co-stars Julianne Moore and Josh Hutcherson. Peter Craig and Danny Strong adapted the Suzanne Collins novel for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, which is produced by Nina Jacobson‘s Color Force in association with producer Jon Kilik.
