Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Seniors Brenna Coll and Brittany Wood each registered a double-double to advance Delaware Valley College past visiting Freedom Conference foe Misericordia University, 65-52.

The win pulled the Aggies back to .500 overall at 9-9, but more importantly, brought the squad to 4-3 and tied for third place at the halfway mark of Freedom Conference action.  The Cougars remained winless on the season at 0-18 overall and 0-7 in the league.

The contest was back-and-forth with eight lead changes over the first 12 minutes, including a jumper from Nikki Baro that put Misericordia ahead, 20-19, with 7:45 left on the clock.

However, Coll responded for the Aggies with a layup on the other end just 18 seconds left and it a sparked a 17-2 run that spanned the duration of the first half and gave Delaware Valley the 36-22 advantage at the break.  All five Aggie starters scored over that stretch, led by five points from Eireann Anastasi.

Delaware Valley extended its lead to as many as 17 in the second half after Agatha Drozd found Anastasi open for a 3-pointer with 14:30 to play in regulation.  The Cougars then got a jumper from Alexa Plitt and a pair of free throws from Lena Williams to cut the deficit to 13 until the Aggies' Bridget Sobon connected on a pair of treys during a 6-2 run to regain the 53-36, 17-point lead.

Misericordia wouldn't go away as it scored 11 of the game's next 15 points to pull to within 10 at 57-47 following a Shelby Brochetti layup with 5:10 to play.  From that point, the Aggies were able to close out the game and Wood was the catalyst as she scored six points down the stretch, including a pair of free throws in the final three seconds that gave her a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Coll's double-double consisted of 14 points and a game-high 13 boards and she also tacked on five assists, two steals and a block.  Anastasi led all scorers in the game with 16 points while Sobon came off the bench to hit three 3-pointers for nine points. Drozd had eight points, five assists and four rebounds in the win.
