December 12, 2014
Dear Learning Gate Families,
A decision has been made that the 7th and 8th grade students will remain at our current, Florida Avenue location for the remainder of this school year. As of today, we have not received a response from Hillsborough County in regards to the required right turn lane needed at the new site for the 7th and 8th grade students. Unfortunately, this leaves the construction of the right turn lane as an obstacle for our initial intended January move in date.
Learning Gate is dedicated to providing a quality education for all of the students and we will spend the remainder of the school year preparing the new site for the start of the 2015-2016 school year.
Thank you to all of the families who have been working tirelessly at the new campus; your contributions have been appreciated. We will continue to keep you informed and updated.
Sincerely,
Brian Erickson
BOD PresidentThank you to all of our families who attended the Winter Holiday Bazaar, and thank you to our Glee club and student performers for making this such a memorable evening. Thanks also to our vendor partners who helped us to check a bunch of things off of our shopping lists! It is that time of year! The Pasco County School District website (www.pasco.k12.fl.us) is accepting requests for Out of County Releases for the 2015-2016 school year. You can access the information website and application here. Remember, this paperwork needs to be completed for each student for each year that a student attends a Hillsborough County school. Our goal this year is to have all the required paperwork for returning students completed prior to the end of this school year. Please don't forget to forward a copy of the Release form as well as the corresponding Application to Enter a Hillsborough County School (available in the front office) to Donna Brynjolfsson at donna@learninggate.org at the Hanna Campus or Kellie Human at khuman@learninggate.org for 7th and 8th grades.

The Learning Gate Girl Scout Junior Troop marched in the Santa Fest Parade in downtown Tampa. In addition, the LG Girl Scout Juniors have been busy making nighttime blankets for kids in foster care, assembling activity packs for children with cancer and buying gifts for the Metropolitan Ministries Holiday tent. In their spare time they drew Christmas cards for a dying girl in Utah and sent cards to disabled veterans and active duty military personnel. Great job, girls, for being December’s Heron’s Heroes!
