UPDATE: New developments after body found in South Bend bar

6 a.m. Monday UPDATE:Police are investigating a weekend homicide after a 25-year-old woman was found dead.Metro Homicide investigators tell WSBT 22 that a lot of new information may come to light Monday in this case.

An autopsy is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday on the South Bend woman. She was found dead inside Chuck's Tavern on West Sample Sunday afternoon.

Police have not confirmed any connection yet, but late last night we learned 21-year-old Johnnie Nettles of Mishawaka was arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail and is being held on a murder charge.

Police tell us the victim was at the bar Saturday night celebrating at an informal company Christmas party.Two big breaks in the case came shortly after Metro Homicide investigators got involved yesterday. Police say a suspect was taken in for questioning and police recovered the victim's stolen car.

The lead investigator says the woman's death was no random act.The bar's owners found the body when they went in to cleanup from the holiday party.

"There was a party there last night," said Metro Homicide Commander Tim Corbett. "It was kind of an unofficial Christmas party. Not a whole lot of patrons. We spoke to several people so far and we're going to be talking to more.

The victim has been identified, but police are not releasing her name until all relatives are notified.

Previous update posted Sunday: South Bend police discovered the body of a 25-year-old South Bend woman near the 1200 block of W. Sample. More information was released in a news conference held Sunday -- including a description of the victim's vehicle that police say was stolen.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Commander Tim Corbett says the woman died at Chuck's Tavern after a Christmas party Saturday night being held for a business.

Metro Homicide is not releasing a name or cause of death until they have notified the family.

Owners of Chuck's Tavern found the body inside the bar Sunday afternoon.

Police arrived on scene at 1:24 p.m. after receiving the call.

Homicide says the victim's car is stolen. They are looking for a gold/tan Chevy Lumina with a White Sox plate on the front and a St. Joseph High School decal on back.
