Call for greater recognition of Indigenous success

There are calls for greater recognition of Indigenous Australians' successes and positive contributions to society in a bid to change negative perceptions.

There's a need to change the pervasive negative perceptions of Australia's Indigenous peoples by better recognising their successes and positive contributions to society.

That's according to Indigenous leader and chairman of the Indigenous Governance Awards, Professor Mick Dodson.

Now in their ninth year, the national awards celebrate effective governance and service delivery in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and projects.

Professor Dodson told Kristina Kukolja more needs to be heard about how well they are doing.
