Second Place On The Line When Women's Hockey Hosts Syracuse

Series Notes
- The two teams tied for second place in College Hockey America (CHA) will meet this weekend at the Lindenwood Ice Arena when the Lady Lions host Syracuse. The puck will drop at 7 p.m. on Friday evening and 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

- Lindenwood is currently 3-2-1 in conference play, and it is 4-7-1 overall. Last week, the Lady Lions split a CHA series for its second straight series. This time, Lindenwood played Penn State. The Nittany Lions won game one by a 3-0 margin, and the Lady Lions won game two by a 2-1 score.

- Syracuse enters play this week with a 3-6-7 overall mark, and it is 2-1-3 in CHA action. Last week, the Orange split a series with Robert Morris as both games ended in a tie. Both teams scored two goals in the first game and one goal in game two of the series.

- Syracuse leads the all-time series by a 10-2-0 margin. The Orange lead 2-6-0 in league games between the two programs, and Syracuse is a perfect 4-0-0 at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.

- Lindenwood and Syracuse met in the first round of the CHA Tournament last season. The Orange won the best-of-three series with two straight victories by scores of 4-1 and 6-0.

- In the regular season in 2013-14, Lindenwood went 1-3-0 against the Orange. In Syracuse, the two teams split the series, with Lindenwood winning 2-1 and Syracuse winning 4-1. In Wentzville, Syracuse earned two victories by scores of 5-2 and 2-1.

Lindenwood Notes
- Lindenwood was shutout in the first game of the Penn State series by a 3-0 score. All three goals were scored in the final 30 minutes of the game.

- Lindenwood scored the final two goals of the second game of the series for a 2-1 come-from-behind victory. The Lady Lions did not allow a goal for the final 58:48 of the game. The 42 shots that Lindenwood allowed in the two games were also the lowest total its allowed for a series.

- The Lady Lions defense allowed just 11 shots on goal in the second game of that series. That set a Lindenwood school record for fewest shots allowed in a game.

- Alyssa West scored the game-winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Penn State. The point was the 61st point of her career, which set a new Lindenwood all-time record.

- The game-winning goal by Alyssa West was the first of her career.

- Shara Jasper scored Lindenwood's other goal in the series, and Lyndsay Kirkham, Britannia Gillanders, and Jordyn Constance all had assists.

- Lindenwood committed just three penalties in the Penn State series, and it has committed just four over the last three games. It is the first time in the team's NCAA era that it has gone three straight games without committing over two penalties in a contest.

- Shara Jasper leads the team with six goals, six assists, and 12 points. She is third in the CHA in points per game and goals per game, and is seventh in assists per game.

- Katie Erickson is also ranked in the top-10 in the CHA for points per game with a 0.67 mark.

- Jordyn Constance is currently sixth in the conference with 0.42 goals a contest.

- Tae Otte and Brooke Peden have played on the same defensive line in four games this year, including the last three on the top defensive line. Those two skaters, along with Katie Nokelby, are the only defenders to play in every game this season.

- In conference-only games, six Lindenwood players have a positive plus/minus. Shara Jasper and Carrie Atkinson lead the way with a +3 in CHA action.

- Lindenwood's defense is allowing 35.6 shots a game this year, a decrease of 6.4 shots a game over last year's total. The Lady Lions are also allowing 0.50 less goals a game in 2014-15.

- Among current players, Caitlyn Post leads Lindenwood with four goals against Syracuse. Katie Erickson is second with two, including the game-winning goal with 6.7 seconds remaining in last year's Lindenwood victory.

- Goalie Nicole Hensley has a .931 save percentage in her career against the Orange.

- The Lady Lions are 1-1-1 in overtime games this year, while Syracuse is 0-1-7.

- Lindenwood is 0-5-1 this year in the opening game of a series, and it has a 4-2-0 mark in game two of a series.

- Lindenwood has one more series before starting its Christmas break. The Lady Lions will take on nationally-ranked Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa. on Dec. 5-6.
