Work is underway on the south side of Goshen on a new manufacturing plant for Keystone RV.

In all, it will take in 120,000 square feet.

The goal is to have it up and running this summer and the need to hire up to 150 workers to staff it.

Thor Industries is the parent company of Keystone.

"It's a production facility that will build a range of units from small travel trailers to very large park trailers," said Bob Martin, the president of Thor Industries. "And also with that, that came with an additional 60 acres, out there in Goshen for future expansion."

The company says the $6 million investment in the new operation will allow them to expand their travel trailer production and better serve dealers in and around the country.

"There has been a demand for the product, and an uptick in demand for the product," said Jim Mac with Keystone RV. "Business is good, dealers are optimistic in placing orders, retails customers are camping. Retail shows have been very good, lots of shoppers, lots of buyers."

The expansion project means Keystone will be hiring more workers, but like many RV companies, they have to keep the help wanted sign out longer to get the workers they need.

"It's still a work in progress, it's a challenge, but I think every company in the area it's the sign of the times that things are very good, that there is a challenge to find people," said Martin.

Company officials hope to have the new building up and running by June or July.
