I received a free copy of this book from the author for my honest review!

Another super read from Brandace Morrow.
Danny and Kinley are awesome characters, and well as a little revisit from Rolling Bridges (Fan Girl book 1)
Do you need to read Fan Girl to read Fate's Mistake??? NOPE, but you should read it because it's a great book :)

Kinley is abused and all alone. Danny is getting his own life back after a divorce. They collide in the gym, and neither's life is the same! Morrow writes an excellent tale of abuse, love, trust, faith...with wonderfully charismatic characters. I didn't feel any slow spots, I just enjoyed reading the story! It was entertaining, heart warming and gut wrenching.

I laughed, I cried, and the twist at the end? OMG, that was awesome! and best of all NO CLIFFY!!!
Can't wait to see who she picks for her next story!

I thought I loved Fan Girl but this blew me away!!! I've been dying for Danny's book since we met him in Fan Girl and kept writing Brandace telling her WOMAN HURRY UP! I need this book!!! haa. Boy did she deliver!! This is a definite new favorite standalone of mine I'll be adding to my re-read list when I'm in a book funk.

It's hard for books to make me teary eyed but man this book twice about half way through and at the end had me tearing up. Kinley and Danny's story is so beautiful, tragic, heart wrenching and all consuming. I couldn't tear myself away from it. Kinley starts out as a weak and abused housewife who had given up on life and was counting down the days until her husbands abuse would finally take her life.

This is a serious subject because so many are abused or survivors of abuse and the way this book showed the truths but also the healing and using that pain to turn it into something good was wonderful to read.

Enters my new BBF Danny!! He is one hot ass country singer who can rap too...and did I mention he twerks on stage like Luke Bryan?! HELLO!!!! He is a gentle giant. He is all man and muscle but with the biggest and kindest heart <3

His and Kinley's journey is amazing to read. It infuriates you with how damn long it takes Kinley and Danny to FINALLY admit there is more than friendship but it was so worth it. The build up kept me glued to my kindle I just had to keep reading so I could finally witness the sparks fly when they gave in to one another.

The twist and turns in this book had me saying WTF did I just read?! Seriously?!?!?!!?! YAY its some crazy stuff!! You just gotta read to find out ;)

All I know is I am suffering a book hangover and really missing my sexy twerking cowboy ;) I cannot wait to see what Brandace gives us next!

OHH & ALSO Thank you Brandace for the super sweet message in your acknowledgement it put a big smile on my face <3 Love u girly!!!

**A Few Favorite Quotes**

*“Are you a stallion now?”- Kinley - “I’m the fucking bull, baby."- Danny

*“Are you going to rap to me? I haven’t heard it in a long time.” -Kinley - “Nah. We’ll save that for special occasions.” -Danny

*“Do you believe in heaven, Lu?” I ask her faintly, still watching the sunset color the sky.

“Shit, there better be something else, after all of this bullshit we have to deal with. I want hot chocolate, Mars bars, freakin’ pina coladas and cabana boys. Hot ones.” She points to the ceiling like she’s talking straight to God and making her demands.

*LOOVED SEEING DEKLAN!!!!* - Danny puts his arm around Deklan’s shoulder and squeezes, making the other man bend slightly as they laugh. “My girlfriend’s a fan, apparently. She doesn’t know one of my songs, but sees your ugly face across a crowded carpet and freaking gasps, dude.”

*“Feel me. Feel how good we are, Kinley. Make yourself feel good. Take what you want.”

If you need a ton of heat this is not for you
If you need a lot of mushy words this is not for you
If you need the characters to just 'get on with it' THIS IS NOT FOR YOU.
If you want a journey, good and bad, something that will move you, this IS the book for you.

I was caught up in the story, word for word and as misery turned to comfort turned to love and true faith I felt like I've had the best ride of my life!

This is not about sex or lust, it's about pain and truth, it's about finding yourself. Healing. It's about life. Real life. It's about believing. Belief in Fate. Belief in what's greater than us.

I am not a fan of what I like to call brain chatter. All that in the head talk. I want to see the conversation but in Fate's Mistake you didn't really need a book full of conversation. What you read was real and true. What was said was meaningful and significant. It was all about showing what could be- what can be. What IS.

When Danny opens his mouth I want to dive right in. He was, no IS the perfect man. He tries. He loves. He hopes. He HEALS. This man is pure excellence. The simple, humanly thing he did for one tortured woman just makes my heart explode. Sure he had a worthy reason, but he did something. I hope to GOD that there are real human beings like Danny in the real world.

"Stay with me pretty girl. Run to me. I'm here,"

Beside the main characters being pretty much perfection, the supporting characters were more than my ideal kind. Every person in this book played a part- certainly some terribly bad, but the others? They were more than a good addition. Fate needed each one to heal and repair.

"He is hard not to fall for."
"He's beautiful"
"Si, he is. He need you.
"I offered to be the nanny."
"Who you talking about?"
"The baby."
"I was talking about the man."

I had many, many favorite parts to this story. But I can't share those with you without giving something away. I would love to type up my most favorite scenes and quotes instead you need to experience it for yourself and I promise you'll be tagging pages and highlighting my favorite parts aswell.

I don't know where to start with this book, it's full of emotion, love and twist and turns but I flaming well loved every bit.

Brandace Morrow is a new author to me thank you Anne morrillo for pointing me to her.

Brandace is an amazing writer, in this book you are on the edge with so many emotions, and you feel the love in the story.

Ok here goes,

What do you do when you meet a man your parents love, but your not sure about? For Kinley, her parents are her moon and stars, so she knows if they love this man, she will grow to love him too. And she does.

That is until the day he raises his hand to her. Jeremy is a monster, he is not the man she fell in love with.
(This story contains domestic violence.)

"I'm not dead yet, I made it though the night. Another sunrise, another goodbye kiss."

Kinley lives this horrendous life for five frightening years. She knows she needs out, but how? How the hell does she do it?

Then HE sees her.
Is it fate, can he help?

HE has to help this women, he will move heaven an earth for her. Just looking into her eyes he knows!

"Did you know he was going to beat the shit out of you before you married him?"

I really don't want to say anymore, I just want everyone to read it when it becomes available.

Ladies the author has done amazingly with this story. I thinks it's always hard to broach a subject especially like domestic violence, but this story has been handle brilliantly.

The love in this book will melt your heart.
Oh, and there will definitely be tears, so make sure you have some tissues.

"Hold On Pain Ends"

There are a few times a year when I pick up a book and am swept away in complete SURPRISE. This story sucked me in from the first page and I felt my heart racing and beating out of my chest the entire read. They say you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Those words have never rang more true.

This story takes you on a journey of survival and healing. Of passion and strength. Where you are forced to face things about this world that are true more times than we know. Domestic Violence is a horrendous daily occurrence. This might be a story of fiction but there are moments in this book that happen all over the world
EVERY SINGLE SECOND.
Where the people who should love and protect us hurt us in evil ways and the screams are silent because no body is listening and the scars are invisible but would be glaring if someone would actually look.

Danny was by far amazing and a true hero. This love story had to grow slowly and it did this in just the perfect pace. While Kinley grew stronger, Danny was still her confidant and her calm in the storm.
Once these two came together it was sweet and it was blazing and passionate.

Kinley had a long road to recovery..to even feel human and then finally to feel like a woman. For Kinley to finally see a man in a romantic way again and for her body to recognize him in that sensual and special way. This was just beautiful. The fact that they were friends first and also that Danny was so patient with her it was amazing. Once they could let go and just feel it was HOT.

It was tragic and yet poetic and perfect that Kinley was able to be the hero for Danny also.

I look up at the tender expression on his face then back to his son.
I sigh five years of torture out in one gust from my lungs.
This is what I’ve always wanted, since forever.

The way she fell for his son was adorable and how she taught him about being a dad and he soaked it up was by far so totally sweet.

Just when you think you know how things will turn out, this is when Brandace throws you for the biggest freaking loop that I've ever read in a book.

I am not going to say anything except
YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK

This story had a breathtaking love story but not only that it had a heartfelt message that any human could learn from.
I am serious when I tell you that if you have a HEART in your chest you will LOVE IT!

I absolutely adored Fate’s Mistake, adored it so hard that it is going in the sidebar of my blog tomorrow as a favorite book. It was just an amazing journey.

I’ve read a lot of books that have abused women in them, and I loved them, but there is something about Kinley that spoke to my heart. Even though she is a fictional character, I just want to put my arms around her and hug her tight. What an amazingly strong woman Brandace Morrow wrote.

When the book started I wasn’t sure where it was going to go. She said she had 2 hours of freedom, that was it. What it happens in 2 hours? Does she go back to a cell? It was so much worse.

As you get in and read the abuse that Kinley suffered at the hands of her husband, it takes a lot in this area to make me get teary eyed. Because I have been through something similar, yet not nearly as bad, in order to read books like this, I have to shut part of me down, like I’m reading from a far. Sometimes it’s hard to read about abuse when you have suffered through it yourself. I couldn’t shut myself off for this one. The things he did to her…. it’s beyond what I can come up with words to explain without spoiling any of the back. He was evil.

Then there is Danny.

Perfect hero.

He made me smile. He made me laugh. I loved how this wasn’t an insta-romance. Kinley needed time to heal. She needed time to learn how to trust again. He was perfect for her.

There is another part of this book that made me cry. It is not in the blurb so I won’t give it away, but you’ll know it when you get to it. This book just tore every single emotion from me.

It was amazing.

Brandace is going on my favorite author list. I want to read anything and everything that will ever be released by her. Incredible author!

Thank you so much for my copy of Fate’s Mistake. This is one of those books that felt like an honor to read.

There is soo much to this book. From start to finish you will find yourself in such different places you might think you read an epic length novel. It is only one book, but it's full of so many stories begging to be told. Fate's Mistake follows Kinley through her own life trials that will leave you broken hearted but hopeful. Through her, you will meet the sexy, warm, loving, funny and talented Danny who faces his own gut wrenching bumps on his road in life. There are wonderful secondary characters who add warmth, depth, laughter and tears to this amazing story. You also get to run in to some of the stars from Fan Girl (a great stand alone but part of this series).

Fate's Mistake deals with some very deep issues including abuse, rape, suicide, and cutting. It is by no means a "dark" read and the subjects are dealt with in an amazing way leaving you with hope that anyone in a similar situation will be fortunate enough to have somebody, anybody, see them.

Be prepared to fall in love with Danny, wish to hold Ollie, long to have a drink with Lu, need a credit line to shop with Kinley and dream of hanging out with some great musicians.

Brandace Morrow writes so well you can see this story play on the big screen of your mind with all the people and places coming to life. The music adds that something extra that etches the story on your soul.

I love both books that Brandace has wrote but Fate's Mistake blew me away!!!

This is the second book in the Los Rancheros Series and I was not surprised that it was A-MAZING since I loved Fan Girl so much!!!

Fate's Mistake is a dark story of domestic abuse, with both physical and mental agony. Kinley is stuck in a loveless marriage to Jeremy who is abusive and unfaithful. Kinley is scared to stay but also scared to leave; he is the only one she has left.

Then Danny comes into Kinley's life.... And changes everything.

Danny doesn’t know why exactly it was happening but when he saw this girl in distress he knew he had to speak up. He wanted to be able to offer help, be present for her if she would except at hopefully giving her a better chance at life.

Kinley wants to start over and learn to live on her own with the help of her new friend Lu..But she doesn't know how to achieve that.

I'm not going to give the whole story to you.... PICK THIS BOOK UP .... NOW!!!!

2.5-3

For me, the book started off great. But as I went on, the writing about trivial, everyday things really started to annoy me. And the full description of what they wore...EVERY DAY was on my last nerve.

Plus, the "twist" was just over the top for me and I didn't like it and what it brought to the story.

But having said that, I couldn't put it down and had to read what would happen. I loved Danny and how he helped to heal Kinley. I really want to see him rap!!

On paper I shouldn't have tolerated this book, but...

Oh. My. God! What a fabulous story about love and how those you love are always with us. Domestic abuse can be a manipulative trope with some authors. Morrow is honest and fresh (oh Lu!) and a very sweet read. I'm looking forward to more from her!

Holy. Wow. This book threw me through a loop! From the first page I was pulled in to Kinley's story. Kinley was broken, you could tell this from the first sentence, a shell of what a women should be. She was scared, alone and damaged! When I say alone she wasn't alone. She had her husband, ahusband who hit her and emotionally abused her. Kinley had no way out. That is until the prefect stranger gave her an opportunity. The chance she had been looking for.
Danny knows that look. He knows the look of a shattered women, and he can't help but try and save her. He wants to be the hero. He wants to save the broken beauty, who fascinates him from the beginning.

They say that when you know, you know-you know. That is what I believe happened with Danny and Kinley. No matter how torn up they both were, they knew together they made up the broken puzzle (maybe reword this: they knew together they could fit their pieces back together to form their misshapen puzzle). Seperate they were nothing but shell's of the people they could be, but together they were unstoppable.
When Danny offers to help Kinley and get her away from her abusive relationship, Kinley can't accept. She is scared of what Jeremy will do. She has never been on her own. First her parents were by her side, then they handed him over to Jeremy. . . not knowing what that man was capable of.

The relationship Kinley had with her parents was one to admire. The love they had shone brighter than any relationship i've ever read about. Her parents were her world, and she theirs. That was until one fateful accident ripped them from her. Leaving her in the clutches of Jeremy and his wicked ways.

“More than the moon and the stars.”

Lets fast forward and Kinley escapes. Yes, she escapes from the prison and rigid schedule her husband demands of her, and breaks free. What does she do from here? She has never had to fend for herself, she has always had someone by her side to help in the decisions she has to make.
Introducing Lu. Lu and Kinley meet on the plane when Kinley escapes. These girls don't hit it off straight away, but after a while you can see a bond appearing. Eventually you see that Kinley uses Lu as her rock. Lu teaches Kinley how to escape her thoughts and let go of her past. Tattoos. Tattoos are the key.

Kinley finally gets the news she is awaiting and can finally start to live a free life, a broken but free women. She has to rediscover who she is, as Jeremy stole her independence and her identity as an independent woman. It's time for Kinley to explore the world and all that she can be. Shes always wanted to work with children, but she likes to help people in general. After being through what she has, has she still got the strength to lend a hand to someone else in need?

Lu and Kinley eventually parts ways and the road leads Kinley to Danny.
Danny is shocked to see Kinley again after all this time, but he is more than relieved that she is okay. Aside from a few phone conversations when she has been stuck in a dark place, Danny hasn't seen Kinley since he gave her an out in the gym in a New York hotel. Was it Fate that put Danny in the same hotel in which Kinley works out every morning?
Danny offers Kinley a place to stay, and she's very appreciative of this. After realising who Danny actually is, she starts to worry that she may not be good enough to be around him and his 'family'.
Danny has a lot going on in his personal life at the moment. A crazy ex wife, a busy work schedule and a new found baby. It's Kinley in which he turns for advice and guidance. How can Kinley say no after all he did to help her?

After the first chance meeting, these two knew their lives were never going to be the same, but whatKinley ends up with is far from what she assumed her life would be like. Is it all for better or worse?
Danny never expected helping the beautiful broken girl at the gym could end this way. Has he bitten off more than he can chew?

This book pulled me in, wrapped me about its pages and gripped me until the very last word. It is more than deserving of the full 5 stars I am giving it. Brandace has done a cracking job on Kinley & Danny's story. The twists and turns this book weaves, took my breathe away. I'm normally quite good at predicting where a book is going, or what the book is hinting at, but this.....this one got me! This is definitely the best book I've read in a few months, and for that I am making it the Book of the Month. As for Danny, he is high up on my book boyfriend list and Kinley on my female list! She's a fighter. After all she has been through, she is such a strong women. You can see the cracks are not fully healed and will take a lot to disappear, but to go through what she did and come out the other side is amazing. Domestic Violence is very close to home and I was worried about reading this book, but it made it smile! There is justice in the world, you just have to be looking in the right places, never turn down help when it is offered. If This book helps just one person speak out, I will not be shocked! Brandace touches greatly on violence and gets the aftermath straight on the head.
I've read many book about violence and they have all gotten over things afterwards too quickly, but this was very true and very life like. Amazing work by an amazing author. I for one will certainly be looking out for more of this author's work!!

Wow, what can I say? I really enjoyed Fate's Mistake. Call me crazy, but I'm actually drawn to books that contain issues that are a part of reality, such as domestic violence. Maybe it’s the notion that love isn't always easy. That in the real world finding your prince charming isn't like the books make it out to be. When we find love, it's not always beautiful, it can be the devil in disguise.

Fate's Mistake is about a young woman named Kinley (love the name) who meets Jeremy, a seemingly nice guy, good looking, career minded, polite and charming - every parents dream for their child.

He wore a tweed coat and slacks with loafers, which might have been fueling my hesitation. I was all about comfort; wearing cargo pants, camisoles, oversized sweaters and broken in jeans. My parents would love him. And because that thought ran through my head, I decided to give him a shot.

Kinley adores her parents: she has her reasons, (which you find out early in the book), which are quite sweet and she learns to adore Jeremy, just as her parents do and marries him, thinking he's perfect and her forever. But oh, golly gosh, he is far from perfect. It is here that everything changes.

The book begins 5 years into their marriage where Kinley is the "doting" wife, and I use doting loosely as she is forced to be a doting wife or heed the consequences. It is in the few hours of the day where she is allowed to leave the house that she meets Danny.

"Do you need me to call someone? A husband, or -“ He breaks off when I abruptly move farther away from him, putting me into the corner of the room. He puts his hands up slowly in surrender."

Kinley, who is (in my opinion) clearly suffering from battered wife's syndrome, suffers day in and day out, ostracized from friends and family, feeling totally alone in this world, but the goodwill and one gesture, one person "seeing you", one person to reach out and tell you that you aren't alone, even when you think you are, that changes Kinley's life and gives her the courage it try and get out.

Here was a real life person, with the means and motivation to change my course.

This book is about overcoming the depravities of a violent relationship. Don't get me wrong, it's also a love story too, but I think it's more about the journey of growing and relearning of one’s self when you've been broken and shattered into practically nothing. And that's beautiful. To learn how to be again. To discover who you are and what you saw for yourself to be all those years ago, instead of the shell of a person that you became when living with domestic violence. And then, once you've rediscovered yourself, finding a way to let others in, to feel that desire to love and be loved.

One thing I adored about this book was the slow building of the relationship between Danny and Kinley. There's no wham, bam thank you mam. They are friends, first and foremost. They both have just exited bad relationships and it is that understanding and support that helps each other grow and move on.

"I'm hanging up now. I can't believe you're out with your parents and you answered the phone." I say with an eye roll and a smile.
"But it was you."

The self-discovery aspect dragged on a little bit longer than necessary for me before the relationship blossoms, but overall it didn't stop me from putting it down. It was a page turner. It captured me and didn't want to let me go. There is a little bit of a paranormal twist which caught me by surprise since that's not normally a genre I read but it didn't seem to bother me too much. Danny has his own relationship problems, but is sexy, caring and down to earth and I loved how he treated Kinley.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You say you like me and now you want me to put out? What kinda guy do you think I am, Mis Mac?" he asks and I burst out laughing. I love the way he can take me out of the dark places in my head.

Fates Mistake is a beautiful, empowering novel that shows even when you are emotionally and physically broken to a point where you think there is no return, a brief meeting of one person, one small gesture can give you the courage and the belief that you are not alone and you can seek help. This is the second book in the Los Rancheros Series but can be read as a standalone. This is the first book by Brandace that I've read and will certainly be one clicking the first book in the series. Highly recommended you give this one a go :)

4.5 stars.

Brandace Morrow so captured my heart and soul with Fate’s Mistake. It’s a very moving and touching story that kept me captive from the time I picked it up until the end. I totally fell in love with her book and highly recommend it as a must read. The beginning started out with the taboo topic of domestic violence. It’s a heartfelt story of living with a controlling, abusive husband and the escape from the abyss of a black hole the marriage was. It’s also the story of new beginnings and fresh starts. Of friendship and possibility of turning into something more. There are so many twist and turns in the book I can guarantee you will love it. I cried as I lived in Kinley’s shoes with her blasphemous husband but I also smiled with pride as I saw the new, strong person that she became.

“I’m not dead yet. I made it through the night. Another sunrise, another goodbye kiss.”

Kinley, the main character of the book, is living in hell of an abusive husband, Jeremy, in a loveless marriage. As she is completing the 10 mile run, mandated by husband, she checks her watch to see if she is late. Lost in her train of thought, Kinley, finds herself nearly falling on the treadmill. Regaining her balance she dashes off to the locker room, only to find herself confronted by a large man. As he begins speaks to her she shrinks into herself in total panic and terrified of what he would do to her.

“Breathe, baby girl, breathe. Breathe to the song.”

Lowering to his knees he continues to rap in a soft and soothing voice and Kinley slowly finds herself calming. Little does Kinley know but this man, Danny, will soon become her ally!! Realizing that she is now behind schedule she rushes off on her journey home to begin the day’s routine. A quick shower, a little light house work, ordering the meal for dinner, the arrival of Jeremy home from work and another night of tortured sex.

The next day at the gym Kinley sees her guardian angel, Danny, at the gym again. This time Danny gets a little more forward with Kinley and approaches her with questions.

“Did you know he was going to beat the shit out of you before you married him?”

Hearing his questions, Kinley avoids answering him. Danny begins to speak about his own encounter of domestic violence. His sister had been in an abusive relationship, she had died, and he was encouraging Kinley to escape from her marriage. The offer of a “kick ass” attorney and his help was now on the table. It was not until later in the day at home that Kinley over hears her husband talking on the phone with someone that she realizes that he is planning to kill her. Now, all of Danny’s good intentions will begin to come to fruition. Wheels are in motion and Kinley is now escaping this nightmare.

I must mention that Danny stole my heart as he befriended Kinley. He was kind, he was sweet and he was always a source of strength to Kinley and most of all he was patient and undemanding. He had laid the pathway for Kinley to have the freedom that she so desperately needed. Once Kinley had her freedom would their paths cross again? Would Danny become something more than just a friend to Kinley? You will not see the ending of this book coming so be prepared for many surprises as you enjoy Fate’s Mistake!!

OMG this was an awesome book. From the first page I knew this was going to be a book that I would not be able to put down and I was right. Kinley is more than an abused wife; she is a young woman whose world has been shattered by lies and death. Meeting her husband at a young age she was under the impression he was a gentleman. Her parents loved him and could see a great future for their daughter with him. What no one knew was deep inside of his soul lurked a monster who was only out for himself. When the abuse began Kinley had already been beaten down by life and the marriage. When she is spotted at the gym for her required ten mile run, she is offered a way out with no strings attached. I loved how the author kept Kinley focused on her escape long before Dan came along. Her tricks and quick thinking made me instantly invested in Kinley and wanting her to find her freedom even more.
Dan has his own heart ache going on. He has a story that he tells Kinley as to why he noticed her and is willing to help. It broke my heart to know he is carrying around this guilt about the past and as I continued to read, his future will be touched by the situation again. With his career taking off, a personal issue of his own, he still wants to help her get out. He was a man I could fall for instantly. When he would use rap music to calm her down, take her calls no matter where he was to talk to her, those were qualities that I adored. He wasn’t pushy, he took his time building a friendship first but as the story goes on, his life comes crashing down and Kinley is there to pick up the pieces for him.
I really loved how this story kept evolving with new characters and situations, all showing strength and the willingness to not be victims to other people. When the author finally connects the dots for the readers it blew my mind. She took something that was so crazy and wrote it in a way that it made perfect sense and gave not only the characters but myself as a reader closure. The love and devotion that this group of people had for each other was a breath of fresh air. We see so many stories where the women need to be rescued and protected. They are too afraid to fight back, to defend themselves against the enemy, well not in this book. Kinley even defended herself against those who were trying to save her. She had a fire in her that wouldn’t be put out and when the truth came out regarding her parents she handled the situation with courage.
I will certainly be keeping an eye on this author for her upcoming books. She gave us a story that will not only keep you interested it will change the way you view helping others. If Dan hadn’t taken a chance, the lives of so many would have been destroyed. As a country music fan I was in love with the references to Luke Bryan and country music, it gave this story a more personal touch for me as I could imagine the songs being played in the background of the scene. There was humor and endearing moments between Kinley and Dan that melted my heart and the author didn’t have to use sex to sell this couple to us. Overall the author did a brilliant job with this book and I have already recommended this book to my friends.

Fate's Mistake book review

Kinley is in an abusive marriage and just doesn't know how to get out. The only
places she's allowed to go are to the grocery store and to the gym at an upscale
hotel. She runs on the treadmill every day at the gym. She never talks to anyone
just in case her husband is watching, that is until the day Danny is there. He's
the first person to ever actually notice her.
Daniel Walsh is familiar with the signs of abuse and tries to reach out to
Kinley. She's so frightened to even talk to him that she ends up freaking out.
Danny is able to calm her down by rapping to her. He finally earns her trusts
enough that she will talk to him and eventually let's him help her.
Within a few months Kinley is building a new life for herself in Florida with
her friend Lu that she met on the flight down to Miami. After almost a year in
Florida, and her now ex husband in jail, Lu convinces Kinley to fly out to thank
the man that saved her.
When Kinley gets to Danny out in California, she is instantly welcomed by him.
Her thank you visit turns out to change her life once again. Will Kinley finally
get a better life that she deserves, or will her past always haunt her?

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

After reading the first few chapters, I was certain this book was going to have
a bad ass thug-like guy be the one to save Kinley. Turns out I was wrong. Danny
was far from that, but he had me tricked with his rapping skills. It's funny
that he was the complete opposite of that. But that's great Danny was a good
guy, and I thought that was a cool quirky thing that added more character to
him.
I didn't really get Kinley at first. She seemed weak to me. If it wasn't for the
story line drawing me into the book I might have not finished it, because Kinley
was pissing me off being so stupid to stay in such an abusive marriage. I was
thinking of so many ways that she could have left. Then she finally redeemed her
self when she decided to let Danny help her. It was like I was reading a
completely different book by the time she moved to Florida. In fact, it was like
reading three different books.
There were definitely three different parts in this book; abusive marriage part,
starting over in Florida, moving on to California. It was quite an interesting
format.
The story line kept me interested and it was believable...then i got to chapter
40 and BAM! Uh, what? Realistic fiction to paranormal? I still liked the story,
but that whole discovery in chapter 40 took away from it a little. Oh well. I
will say it was creative.
Over all I was glad I read the book and will gladly read from this author again.

** DEBBIE'[S 4.5 STAR REVIEW **

This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Get ready to get blown away by another fantastically written book by author Brandace Morrow.

I was extremely happy that I was given a chance to read and review the second book in this series. The first book blew me away and I have to say this book did not disappoint. This book will hook you from the start and it leads you on an emotional journey that has your heart breaking one second and smiling the next. You can totally relate to the characters and you feel every emotion they are feeling as if you are right there with them.

The main character in the story is Kinley. My heart broke for her but I totally got her. I understood why for five years she lived in an extremely abusive relationship. Jeremy, the abusive husband is beyond disgusting. I loved that even though you knew he did horrible things to her the author chose not to go into gruesome and graphic detail. I loathed him from the beginning and wanted to see him suffer for all the horrible things he did.

“You know that as your husband I own your body, correct?”

After living through five years of abuse. She accidentally meets Daniel Walsh. He sees what everyone else chooses not to see and helps her get out. After she finally escapes the hands of her abusive husband Jeremy, Kinley boards an airplane and meets a girl named Lu. I can’t express how much I hearted Lu. She was hysterical and realistic and told it like it was. She didn’t sugar coat anything. Lu teaches Kinley how to live again and in return Kinley heads off to find her knight in shining armor that took a chance to help her get out of the abusive marriage.

“My heart is racing as I realize I’m actually going to come face to face with the man that changed my life.”

“Kinley: How do you know when someone’s stolen your heart? Lu: When they board a chopper holding a cooler close to their chest.”

The chemistry between Daniel and Kinley is fantastic and the author did a great job of building their relationship. I love it when you get a chance to see a relationship grow and that is exactly what she did. I loved that the author threw in a plot twist that I didn’t see coming. It added another dimension of drama to the story.

“Even his feet are sexy. Are guy’s feet ever sexy?”

“Save a horse, darlin.” He pushes in and grits his teeth before commanding, “Ride me.”

The book just flowed extremely well and all the secondary characters with the exception of Jeremy were witty and charming and extremely likeable. Jeremy was just an asshole. If you are looking for a story that will pull at your heartstrings this one will not disappoint.

Meg's Review:
First of all we need to talk about this GORGEOUS cover. It is a beautiful cover and fits the book wonderfully. Next we need to talk about this author and who she has managed to bring me to tears NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE with her writing. That takes skill, and this girl has it in spades. This is an extremely real and emotional story. These situations are far more common then people know, and I felt as though Brandace really did it justice. I will do my best of not reveal spoilers, but there may be slight ones.

Favorite Quote:
"What are you going to do, little bird?"  Lu asks in my ear. We pull away from each other but keep our arms connecting us.

"I'm going to help people."

Kinley is not in a good place. At all. Whatsoever. She needs help and she has very little options on how to get it. She is a shadow, a shell. She is existing day by day with no idea if it could be her last. I know this quote is odd to be a favorite, but it was finally a point where I had Hope.

Terrifying.

That is the best way to describe how this novel starts.  I was terrified, horrified, and hurt. Kinley needed to get out. She need to find a way to Live. Really Live. Enter Danny. This wasn't a knight in shining armor, insta-love, save the girl and all is flowers and candy type novel.  This was real. Down and gritty to hard truths people don't want to face.

Danny. Danny has a lot weighing on his shoulders, but when he sees the terrified shell of a girl, he does what others won't, and sees her.

There are a lot of spoilers I don't want to give away in this novel. It isn't a 100 page love story, it is a journey. You travel with Kinley and Danny and watch as both their lives unravel and get stitched back together.

FateMistakeQ

I Highly recommend this read. Be warned it does contain some DV triggers, but they are written and handled in a manner that stays truthful. Things are sugarcoated or unrealistic. Brandace has bared all with this second novel and really come into her own as an author. Like Fan Girl, Fate's Mistake is a novel I won't soon forget. A Must Watch, Must Read Author.

Definitely five stars!!

First off I would like to thank Brandace Morrow for my ARC I was given for an honest review.

This book CAN be read as a stand alone, but who wants to only get the full story when you want all the juicy details and gossip too right??!!

NOTE: This book has some graphic scenes of domestic violence in it.

There are two kinds of men. Men who you take home to meet mom and dad and those you don't. But what if they are one in the same? Jeremy is that two-faced man. A Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde kind of guy. He charmed my parents right into their heart and they adored him for his hard work, devotion to me, and what our future looked like together. Never did they think in a million years this man that they called "son" would ever hurt their one and only little girl.
Five years after our "I do's", he did just that. He hurt me. He hit me. First it was a slap, but now it is worse. I keep a low profile and keep to my routine so he doesn't get mad and hurt me more. I cover my marks as best I can and I do a really good job to the outside world. However inside I am screaming at someone, anyone to rescue me.
One day at the gym, during my run, a man saw through me. He must have heard my internal screams over my IPod. He tried to talk to me. I just knew it was trap from Jeremy. I trust no one, especially with a dick!! If he thinks I am going to take a punch or a kick from Jeremy for his ass he is sadly mistaken. But something, a tiny little voice that is shaken and has been hidden deep inside me for years says go for it. I listen to him talk and he wants to help me. He wants to free me. Save me from this monster whose last name I am marred with. But can a trust a man who calls himself Danny? Trust this man who may just lead me back into the arms of the monster? Shall I run by myself or let this man run with me?
Whether or not I choose to run one thing is for sure, I am going to be dead if I don't. But if I caught, death will not come soon enough from his torturous pain he will put me through to kill me. I chose not life, not death, but fate. ~Kinley

This book is definitely a tear jerking, gut-wrenching, laughing from the heart kind of book. It is very well written, well organized, and the characters are so strong you just "know" them. This is a book I just couldn't put down and definitely recommend to anyone. I mean I thought that I loved Fan Girl (book 1), but OMG WOW!!!

Brandace Morrow you have done it again, this book exceeds anything I could have ever expected. Your ability to tackle the tough topic of abuse and the need for the victims to have a way to reach out for help, for them to know that there is someone out there that not only cares but that will help them get out of their current situation, to give them hope.

The story of Kinley is heartbreaking, but the strength that she demonstrates in her ability to break free of her abuser is indescribable. She grew up seeing how perfect and loving her parents were to her and each other that is all she ever wanted. When they began encouraging her to give Jeremy a chance she wanted to make them proud. She had no idea what that would cost her. Just when Kinley has almost given up a stranger comes into her life that give her hope.

Danny is a muscular, big, sexy, hunk of a man. He doesn’t know what exactly was happening but when he saw this girl in distress he knew he had to speak up. He wanted to be able to offer help, be present for her if she would except to hopefully give her a better chance at life.

This book is a crazy twisted up version of fate that hooks the reader and had me holding my breath waiting to see what is going to happen next. The journey for Kinley trying to escape her abuser and find out who she really is is very difficult at times and very rewarding at times.

The characters in this book are so lovable. The connection that Kinley and Danny have from the first meeting when he is rapping to the tile wall of the bathroom of the gym to help her, is undeniable. Danny is the white knight that every girl dreams of; he has had his fair share of heartache in his life, but still maintains his positive outlook and his humbleness in helping others when they need it. One of my all time favorite characters is Lu, the no-nonsense free spirit that just happens to walk into Kinley’s life when she needs a friend the most. Lu is someone who is not going to sugarcoat the hard stuff for Kinley; she pushes her when no one else will. She is the kind of friend I would want to have.

There are just so many things I want to say about this book, but I also don’t want to give anything away, so what I must say is everyone should check this out. You don't want to miss Kinley and Danny's story. Just be aware you will need some Kleenex’s along the way.

5 highly emotional stars.

Kinley meets Jeremy, sweet, respectful. He seems like the perfect man. They get married and Jeremy shows his real self.
Kinley is abused daily and only allowed to leave the house to go to the gym to run her 10 required miles per day on a treadmill.
Danny happens to be in the same gym one day and offers Kinley help.
She doesn't trust him, doesn't know what to think until she contacts the lawyer's name he gave her and realizes it's all real. There is a chance for her to get away from the beast she married.
Following the lawyer's instructions Kinley manages to get away, with a new identity and a new friend along with her, she works to reclaim her life.
She decides to pay Danny a visit, pay him back for all the help he's given her and decides to stay in his pool house for a few days until she decides where she wants to go next.

Danny. I love this man. He couldn't be more perfect. He's thoughful, helpful, a gentleman, sensitive yet still the sexy alpha male. He's a country music star that can grind like Luke Bryan, yea what's not to love?
Danny gets Kinley to open up to him and he in turn does the same.
There are twists along the way that push them to spend more time together and create more of a bond between the two.

I laughed, cried, got angry and healed right along side these two by the end of the book. Love it and can't wait to read more from Morrow.

I was so blown away by this book. Brandace's sophomore novel is just outta this world amazing!!! Her writing is clear and easy to read. It's like talking to a friend. You know those books that you have to focus on every. boring. word and then you end up zoning off instead of reading? Don't worry, Fate's Mistake is NOT that kind of book. This book will suck you in and take you on a whirlwind of emotion. But isn't that why we read?

I LOVE books with men who are mature and committed to protecting, standing by, and fully loving their woman. Brandace has given us yet another HOT book boyfriend to drool over. Danny is just... *sigh* such an incredible man. Kinley is wonderful as well. She starts out as broken, beaten, defeated woman. But thanks to her new friend, Lu, she starts out on the road to healing. Danny also plays a huge role in this as well.

This story takes you all over the country...New York, Florida, Georgia, California, and many spaces in between. It takes you on an emotional journey. It's a story of one woman's loss of herself as she suffers terrible abuse at the hands of a psychopath, and the way that she escapes, heals, and rises to new heights. Don't miss this book, it's definitely one of my favorite reads of 2014!

Brandace Morrow is one of those authors that can rip your heart out and put it back together again by the end of the book! If you don't shed a tear in this book their is something wrong with you!
The way this book is written you can't help but feel every single emotion that Kinley goes through. The first chapter of this book grips at your heart strings and pulls you into the main character, Kinley and her story almost instantly.
Not only do you fall in love with how strong and courageous Kinley is but you also fall in love with Danny and his rescuing personality! I love Brandace Morrow's work, trust me with this you will be up late into the night wanting more from both of these characters!
I have a pretty good book sense when it comes to plots but I wasn't even close to prepared for what happens at the end of the book! Do Danny and Kinley get the happy ending they deserve? Well in order to find out you should buy this book, trust me you will not be disappointed Great Job Brandace! I love your work and can't wait for more great things to come!.

Wow

captivating

addiction

A very strong book I have to say. This book will have your heart from he start. It deals with abuse which is a sensitive topic for me so please proceed with caution. The topic of abuse and how the character comes out of it i.e is Kinley is impressive and realistic. She is still strong and has the power to come back to life even though the life had given her no reason to live.

This book about healing, it talks bout getting help, it talks about a push from a right person. I think when a right person comes into your life everything is put into place. This book is funny as well..you will be giggling ,laughing, smiling the whole time while dealing with a very serious issue.

You all got to read this book as soon as possible! recommended to all people who love a good romance, hot guy ;) beautiful writing and a touching plot :)

I was given the opportunity to read this book and to see if it was any good... HOLY JESUS does that give you any clues?

When I first started this book I was like oh wow I wasn't expecting that... but let me just say that Brandace opened my eyes more to domestic abuse and had me on the edge of my seat and at some points I wanted to throw my Kindle!!!

Kinley thought she had met the perfect man but Fate made a mistake and when that happens maybe you will be lucky enough to have Fate correct that mistake.... that is where this story goes.
Kinley meets a stranger in a gym that her abusive husband makes her go to so that she runs 12 miles on the treadmill... but what happens when you find that one person that is will to help you..., That is where Danny comes in, you will have to read this amazing story to find out what happens in Fate's Mistake you won't be sorry that you did!!!

I have been on an emotional rollercoaster ride reading this. so sad for what Kinley and Ollie endured, so happy for them both having the happiness they deserve, frightened for what might be around the corner, hatred for what Jeremy and Molly did and pride for how strong Kinley was even though she didn't know it!
Brandace has beautifully written a story of courage and true love. two people brought together by fate! .
when you think something must have told me to take a right turn and not a left , maybe it wasn't something... maybe it was someone!
if your looking for a book that will make you want to keep reading , wanting to know more whilst becoming part of a beautiful family then this is definitely for you.
thankyou Brandace for this wonderful story :)

Opening the pages of this book is like coming across a roadside accident. You can't not look, you slow down and take in the horror. You can't believe your eyes, yet you're riveted to the magnetic pull of life, death, tragedy, resilience of spirit and survival playing out in front of you.

I don't read a lot of first person books, but the subject matter and rave reviews made me one-click. Then the story sucked me into the pages and I couldn't put it down. The horror that is abuse and the mental toll it takes on a person is real and gritty. The relationships ring true and the romance, while slow to evolve, would be a travesty portrayed any other way and would diminish prior trauma.

Well done, Ms. Morrow.

This book was beautiful. There are some books that stay with you after you are finished and this is one of them. Fate's Mistake is a MUST READ!!!!! You will not regret it.

This is the story of a woman that was brave enough to take a chance on a stranger. She accepted his help and saved her life. She was a shell of the young and vibrant woman she once was. She was brave enough to leave and strong enough to take a journey of self-discovery to return to "normal". Throughout this time, she still kept in touch with that wonderful stranger and became stronger every day. Then one day he needed her. It was her turn to go to him and help him. It was her turn to return the favor.

This story hit so close to home in the first few chapters. I honestly felt like I was reading my life within the first few pages and feeling what Kinley was going through that I found myself in tears already. When Danny came along, I found so excited and happy, wanting Kinley to just run away with him. I mean seriously, just run! But as all good stories go, they started as a beautiful friendship. When Kinley finally found herself and realized how strong she was and could be, I found myself in tears again. If only we could all be as strong as her when faced with hardships and the need to survive...

Kudos to Brandace for writing such an amazing story!
