ServiceNow, the enterprise IT cloud company, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Neebula Systems for approximately $100 million in an all-cash transaction that is expected to close this month. Neebula's flagship product, ServiceWatch, automates the discovery, mapping, and monitoring of IT-enabled enterprise services. This addition will become an integral part of the ServiceNow IT Operations Management portfolio.

UNICOM Systems, Inc., a Division of UNICOM Global, today announced that it has acquired the solidDB® In-memory relational database management system from International Business Machines Corp. (IBM). The acquisition includes both the solidDB software and the solidDB Universal Cache™ feature. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

07/09 America Movil aims to sell assets as quickly as possible
Mexican telecoms company America Movil plans to divest assets as quickly as possible to escape tougher regulation, and it hopes to sell to a single buyer, spokesman Arturo Elias said on Wednesday. The company, controlled by billionaire Carlos Slim, announced on Tuesday that it was ready to sell assets to cut its market share in Mexican telecoms below 50 percent and avoid regulations that apply only to dominant players.

Top Image Systems, Ltd., a leading Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Business Process Management (BPM) solutions and Mobile Imaging Platform (MIP) provider, recently announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire eGistics, a leading privately-owned provider of cloud-based solutions to the banking and payments market, in a transaction valued at approximately $18M. Under the terms of the agreement, TIS will pay for the acquisition 50% in cash and 50% in TIS shares. The acquisition, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close in Q3.

When TubeMogul first filed to go public, it indicated that it would offer up to $75 million of its shares for sale. That figure was soft. Today, TubeMogul decided on a price range for its shares — $11 to $13 per unit — meaning that it could sell up to $93.4 million of its stock in the flotation.

Cloudian, Inc., the leading provider of hybrid cloud storage solutions, today announced that it has closed a $24 million financing round with new investors, INCJ and Fidelity Growth Partners, and existing Cloudian shareholders, including Intel Capital. All three funds actively seek well-positioned, high-growth, enterprise-focused companies for investment and targeted Cloudian as a key provider of hybrid cloud storage solutions. The funding will enable the company to extend its global sales and marketing reach through targeted programs and amplified market development.

Box Inc. bought itself some breathing room as it waits for a more suitable time to hold an initial public offering. The online-storage startup raised $150 million in funding from private-equity firm TPG and hedge fund Coatue Management, the company said on Monday in a regulatory filing that also provided its latest quarterly results.

07/02 Nokia to acquire SAC Wireless
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Nokia Corp. said in a statement that it expects it to close in the third quarter of 2014. The newly handset-free infrastructure vendor is hoping to use SAC's infrastructure expertise to strengthen its presence in the North American RAN market. SAC designs, installs and maintains indoor and outdoor distributed antenna systems (DAS) for better wireless coverage in stadiums, hospitals, government facilities, and enterprises. The company claims all the major US wireless operators among its customers.

07/02 Lenovo still expects IBM server deal to close this year
HONG KONG—Chinese personal-computer maker Lenovo Group Ltd. still expects to complete its acquisition of International Business Machines Corp.'s low-end server business by the end of this year, its chief executive said, even as the U.S. government is investigating possible national-security risks related to the deal.
"There is no change to the plan," said Lenovo Chief Executive Yang Yuanqing.

NEA led the funding round, which also included existing investor Andreessen Horowitz and follows up on a $14 million series A round in September 2013.

MapR announced that it had raised $110 million in combined equity and debt financing. The $80 million equity-bearing portion of the round was led by Google Capital, the search giant’s growth equity fund, with participation from Qualcomm Ventures, the investment arm of the wireless chip company. Prior investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mayfield Fund, NEA and Redpoint Ventures also participated.

Xinhuanet Co., a unit of China’s official Xinhua News Agency, will use proceeds from an initial public offering in Shanghai to expand in cloud computing and the mobile Internet, according to a preliminary prospectus
The company will sell 51.9 million shares representing 25 percent of the shares outstanding, Beijing-based Xinhuanet said in the filing issued on the website of the China Securities Regulatory Commission.

SPARK Ventures' part-owned mobile communications services provider IMImobile(IMI) floated on the AIM market on the London Stock Exchange on Friday.IMI raised £30m before expenses through the issue of 25m shares at 120p each. Early-stage venture capital company SPARK sold around a fifth of its holding in the initial public offering (IPO) to raise aggregate net proceeds of approximately £3.2m, SPARK's remaining 17% interest in IMI has a value of around £12.9m at the IPO price.
