Dear Michelle,

June is coming up and with it the deadline for paying estimated taxes for the period from April 1 to May 31.

It's a little late for Mother's day but not too late to consider what mom may have done for our investing skills.

If you haven't taken the time for estate planning yet, here are some links to resources so you can create a will online. It's often better to sit down with an attorney but if you haven't been able to get to it yet, this will allow you to have something prepared in the meantime.

When kids turn 18 parents can no longer make healthcare decisions for them without an advanced healthcare directive. To order one for California (note each state may have different  requirements), Brigitte Binkert of Binkert Law suggests using one from the California Medical Association. You can purchase it here, online for a nominal fee. Talk to your child's primary care physician also to see if they have a directive they prefer.

Why do we all need a buffer for our spending? Because most of us spend more than we think we do. Click here to read more.

Or you could try watching this video about joy and buying and ask, "does it spark joy?" before you buy.

Finally, check out my new website and let me know what you think - it has an updated look!

Have a wonderful end of May!
