It’d been a while I’d heard from Q Dot. The hyper-talented indie artist from Federal Way recently reached out to let me know he was dropping some new heat, and boy was he not lying.
It’s hard to find quality feel good hip-hop these days but Q Dot seems to do it effortlessly. Soul Clap boasts not only deft lyricism, but also fantastic instrumentation. The Grammy-nominated, Twitter-verified Ph.D student shows off his skills on the piano in the simple, honest and effective visual, rocking on time to a fresh beat that’ll leave you clapping along. Picking up right where The Darkness left off, Soul Clap reminds us that music can be both dope and positive. It feel good, don’t it?
