I had such a wonderful time my first time having She Crab soup. Really good. Kind of reminded me of a clam chowder. Jambalaya was spicy, but not overbearing. Nice flavors that permeated the entire dish, and the limoncello was fantastic. As for the beers that were paired with the food, I liked the lighter beers, but I am just not a fan of IPAs. They are too bitter for my rookie beer palate.

The service was excellent!! The servers were extremely courteous and professional. They made me feel very comfortable in such a large group of people. Give them a raise!!!! Thank you 82 Queen and Palmetto Brewery for a wonderful evening of Pints and plates.

Solid 5 stars for the Pints and Plates event! Scotty, 82 Queen, and Palmetto Brewing did an excellent job and made sure our needs were met and that we had a lot of fun. We were greeted with a beer and a personalized pint glass at our seats. I liked the assigned seating because I got to meet some new Yelp Elites.

All of the food was delicious! We started out with chive biscuits with butter. I love good bread before a meal, and these did not disappoint. Our next course was She Crab soup, which also paired well with the biscuit and was delicious. I've tried She Crab Soup at quite a few restaurants, and this one was especially creamy and rich.

Next was the Jambalaya. I don't eat ham or sausage, which are normally in jambalaya, but the chefs at 82 Queen graciously accommodated me by leaving those meats out and serving mine over cheese grits rather than red rice. This dish was delicious! It was full of shrimp and crawfish and not super spicy to me. It was hearty and filling, and the grits were rich and cheesy. I brought almost half of my entree home and am excited to eat the leftovers tonight. Many of us left with takeout boxes, too.

The dessert was a limoncello marscapone cake and also delicious. It was lighter and not super sweet. I agree with the 82 Queen and Palmetto Brewing staff that this dessert and the beer paired with it are great for summer because neither were super heavy.

I'm not a big beer drinker, but I went into the event with an open mind and am glad I did. I really enjoyed the first two beers I had, and the Lowcountry Pilsnar was my favorite. I was not a huge fan of the IPAs, but I am sure they are great beers for those who like that style of beer. The guys from Palmetto Brewing were on hand and answers all our questions and talked about the beers, and as someone who doesn't know a lot about beer, I feel like I could go to them with any questions about beer pairings for meals or recommendations for good beers to try.

At the end of the night, we received a nice parting gift from 82 Queen and Palmetto Brewery, and I'm excited to visit both places again and support them. I've been to Palmetto Brewery before for a pub run, but 82 Queen was not on my radar until this event. Thanks Yelp, 82 Queen, and Palmetto Brewery for the chance to try some great foods and beers.

On this night, technology, social media and community came together as one. It was a night Ashton Kutcher and Guy Fieri would be proud of. The big guns came out for this one. 82 Queen Restaurant group CEO, head chef, owner of Palmetto Brewery, and many more gave their time to give us all a member Charleston dining experience.

With the marriage of education, amazing food and beer pairings and enough conversation to keep the Yelpers energized, this was a well organized treat.

With the Instagram contest, we are one step from live video feeds to share with the world, the gift that is Charleston hospitality.

The offerings of she-crab, Jambalaya and a soft feathery lemon cake along with the perfect hoppy matches made for a memorable feast.

This was a big effort from 82 Queen, Palmetto Brewery and Yelp. An idea that took two years to fruition.

We are incredibly thankful for the food, beer, gifts, friendships and so much more.

      A generally special evening shared.

I had never been to 82 Queen before or Palmetto Brewing so I was beyond excited for this event. I arrived a few minutes early and enjoyed getting to meet some new-to-me Yelpers in the bar area.

We were then led outside into the beautiful courtyard and upstairs to our charming and very long dining table. Once upstairs, we were greeted by Scotty, Michael, employees of 82 Queen and Palmetto Brewing. As Scotty was checking me in, I was handed a Palmetto Brewing glass full of Island Wit beer.

Once I located my seat (assigned seats which was great because I got to sit around people that, for the most part, I had never met before), I sampled Island Wit. It was crisp and refreshing with hints of orange peel, coriander and lavender.

Introductions were made,by Scotty, of the amazing people at 82 Queen and Palmetto Brewing. We were then served the first course: the award-winning she crab soup with Lowcountry Pilsner. The crab in the soup was delicious but it was a little too creamy (almost buttery taste) for me. The Lowcountry Pilsner was a light Bohemian Pilsner that paired well with the soup.

Next up, was the entree. I was a little hesitant when I saw it was Jambalaya but, y'all, it was deeeeee-licious. Yes, it is a bit spicy, but what a fabulous mix of red rice, tasso ham, shrimp, crawfish, peppers and onions. The servings were huge and most people were given boxes to take the rest home (my daughter ate it when I got home and loved it). The entree was paired with the Hi-Red IPA. Too hoppy for me but it did balance out the spiciness of the food.

For our third course, and my favorite, we had the Limoncello Mascarpone. A light and airy white cake with limoncello, cream and mascarpone cheese. The cake was paired with the Huger Street IPA. This was hoppier than the other IPA and not really something I'd have paired with cake normally. I applaud the bold choice though.

After dessert, we took some pictures and were given a nice gift bag as we exited. Great night with an amazing bunch of people! Thank you to 82 Queen, Palmetto Brewing, Scotty and everyone else involved in such a fun evening.

Really Awesome Event! I had a great time meeting fellow Elites and enjoying the great food and drink from 82 Queen and Palmetto Brewery.

Being new as elite, I got to meet a bunch of new peeps and I am still in awe how cool this all is.

The she-crap soup was really good. I normally wouldn't order it, but now I know how great it can be...(For other places: Watch-out!--Because 82 Queen sets a high bar)

The Jambalaya was great too! Lots of shrimp and meats with a strong dry heat that wasn't too spicy. Really well-balanced.

The cake had a big lemon flavor with cream and paired great with the IPA. I really liked the idea of mixing up the dessert beer. I definitely thought that espresso porter was going to be the dessert beer.

82 Queen and Palmetto did a fantastic job and it's great the Yelp makes these events possible. I had a great time and hope seeing you at the next one...

This was definitely one of the best Elite Event by far that I've gone to.

I've been to Husk and Pooghan's Porch in the past, just not 82 queen. Situated on Queen street, this popular establishment is definitely one of a kind.

The Elite Event was setup on the second floor in a private room that was very impressive and provided an intimate setting for the special group of Yelpers. You could see the age and impressive history via the architecture from the arched and curved ceilings often found in historic buildings. The table was setup beautifully with individually assigned seats appropriately labeled.

The three course meal was very impressive as reviewed previously with the perfect pairing of each course with the Palmetto Brewery's Ale complement. I enjoyed every course very much from the She Crab Soup, Jambalaya to the Limoncello Mascarpone cake! As a beer lover, I enjoyed each paring from Palmetto along with the brief description from the Brewery's leadership. My favorite were the Island Wit and the Lowcountry Pilsner.

The end of the day, we went home with some goodies from 82 queen, Yelp, and Palmetto Brewing Company. What an evening to remember.

The experience allowed me to appreciate the benefits of being a Yelp Elite as well as living here in the LowCountry.

Thank you Scotty, 82 Queen and Palmetto Brewing Company for an excellent evening!

Seriously, WOW!! I have never felt more pampered in ever before.

Wow the attention to details, the swag, the pairings from Palmetto Brewing were so spot on. The she crab soup, jambalaya all the way to the Limoncello Cake rocked the house.

This was a perfect even to try new things. I've re-tried She-Crab soup which I'm not a fan of but the one they gave us was delicious! It was thick and creamy. Apparently, I've never had good She-Crab so I had to rethink the food I eat. Now the Jambalya was also something that I don't normally eat. This one had just enough kick without being unpleasant. There was enough of it left that I was able to bring it home. The Limoncello cake was to die for. It was moist to say the least. So glad to be part of this adventure.

Great times to be had by all and can't wait to see the pictures.

It's been a week since this event, but I've been super busy. It still comes with the same sentiment. Two words: amazing evening. Having grown up in Charleston and gone to this restaurant previously, I was excited to see what was in store for us at this Elite event. It was great. The food was delicious and the beer pairings by Palmetto Brewing were on fleek! Each course was preceded by a presentation to explain what we were about to taste, and why it was chosen. The she crab soup was good, but the jambalaya was my favorite. Shrimp, crawdads, and tasso ham together with red rice made for a special experience in my mouth! I had to get a to-go box so that I would have enough room for the limoncello marscapone, too. Of the four beers we received, the Hi-Red IPA was my favorite. We even got to keep the Palmetto pint glass afterwards.

Scotty C. always finds a way to make the Elites feel special and for this night, he had our names placed on a Yelp pint glass for each of us. What a unique way to assign seats, too. At the end of the night, we were provided a goodie bag that contained a few items from 82 Queen and Palmetto Brewing such as koozies and a container of She Crab Soup mix. Thanks for an awesome night!

Another amazing Elite event! Four beers, three courses, and a goody bag! Being welcomed with a cold beer and the fragrance of freshly baked biscuits was a wonderful way to start the evening! The assigned seating was fun and a good way to chat with different Yelpers too! I'm always a fan of 82 Queen's she crab soup and the jambalaya was good but the Limoncello Marscapone cake was a show stopper. Deliciously light and moist - I had no problem finishing it! :) Thanks to Yelp, 82 Queen, and Palmetto Brewing for a great night!

Last night was awesome! I was really surprised to see how many Yelpers had never before been to 82 Queen. I'm glad that so many new people were introduced to what I consider the best she crab soup in Charleston. I made it a mission when I first moved here to try she crab soup at as many places as I could and nothing ever compared to the 82 Queen recipe. Nowadays, I usually don't even order it elsewhere because I know it will dull in comparison.

I'm not a huge beer drinker, but Palmetto's offerings were great. The Lowcountry Pilsner - or "boat/golf/beach beer" - was my favorite by far. It paired with the she crab soup so well! I appreciated the information we got from Chef Stoney, as well as from the Palmetto guy (Chris? I forgot his name - sorry! - but he was hilarious!). We'll definitely be checking out the brewery very soon. Thanks for the glasses, soup mix, and other swag, too!

As for the remaining courses, I would have never ordered the jambalaya or the Limoncello Marscapone cake off the menu myself, but they were fantastic. Triple points to 82 Queen for the large portion so that I can experience the jambalaya again today! Also, the cake was divine. I'll be coming back for that again soon.

Thank you to Scotty for these amazing events, and to 82 Queen and staff for their exemplary service and cuisine. Palmetto Brewery made the evening with the hilarious, yet informative explanations of the pairings.

PS - The assigned seats were great, too, and I enjoyed talking with Meg, Mark, Jennie, Meredith, Charlie, Amy Lauren, Jacquelyn, Eric, Sarah, and shouting over to Ryan and Clay.

PPS - the next time you're at 82 Queen, try their BBQ Shrimp & Grits. One of my favorite dishes!
