Expo’s Tree of Life to blossom again

Major attraction from Expo 2015, open free.

One of the most popular symbols of Expo Milano 2015, the Tree of Life, comes back to life on Friday 1 July, when it and the totally refurbished Italy pavilion will again be open without charge.

The tree, built by a Brescia consortium, will display a new show of lights and fountains, while the nearby Palazzo Italia will host two exhibitions: one on the nine-year long preparation for last year’s Expo and the other entitled “Italy, a Hymn to Beauty”.

Open from Friday to Sunday from 15.00 to 23.00, the former exposition grounds – now renamed EXPerience – also boast five “City after Ciy” shows from the 31st Milan Triennale, workshops for kids in the Cascina Triulza, and mega screens for live coverage of Euro 2016 matches – this weekend Wales vs. Belgium, Italy vs. Germany and France vs. Iceland, each at 21.00.

Also open to the public are the family area for parents and kids, the relax area with a beach, and the sport area with pitches for basketball, 5-a-side football, volleyball, climbing, skateboarding, parkour and bike polo.
