Ok, it's pretty embarrassing to even share the before shot, but it definitely helps tell the story here...

I have been sporting the same long (longer, longest) hairstyle for too many years. Well, it was time to *finally* make a change and the result is more than I had even imagined or hoped for!

Thank you Kyle for nailing it! I feel younger, hipper, lighter, fresher! ‍

Kyle Mathis is literally the only person I let color or cut my hair.
This is for many reasons; first, Kyle is amazing at making my hair look natural while covering the grey and the lackluster appearance of my hair as it ages.

Also, I love the fact that Kyle is not a "yes ma'am" kind of stylist. What I mean is; while Kyle can literally accomplish anything when it comes to hair, he will stop and have a real conversation with you about whether or not what you are asking for will fit into your lifestyle. How often do you want to come to the salon? Do you style your hair everyday? These are a couple of the important questions Kyle asks to help you find what will not only make your hair look beautiful on the day you leave his salon, but every day until you return. At the end of the day, he will give you exactly what you want, but he likes you to know what the care and the maintenance are for the style and/or color you've picked.

Kyle Mathis has done my hair for years and kept it healthy and beautiful. Recently, I was in a wedding and had to have my hair professionally styled. Before I left I had my hair cut and colored by Kyle. At the wedding, it was the first time in a long time other people had handled my hair. Everyone who touched my hair that day commented on how beautiful my hair was. They talked about how amazing my color was and how healthy and natural my golden blonde hair was. It didn't stop there. At the wedding I received SO many compliments on my hair and how amazing it looked.

I am definitely a little vain when it comes to my hair (I am a leo, after all) but I was super proud of my hair that day and felt like a million bucks.... Thank you, again and again, Kyle Mathis for helping all the beauty I have on the inside come and hangout on my head :)

Always feel fabulous after a visit with Kyle! Color on Point! Extensions fabulous! Not to mention I feel as if I can bare my soul and leave without being judged. It's very cathartic.

Over the years, I had gone through a number of hairstylists in Los Angeles and had very little luck finding someone who was capable of giving me the haircut I really wanted... That is, until I met Kyle!

Expressing my hair needs with him is an effortless affair. He just gets it. Also, being Asian, my hair is super straight and coarse, so it is a godsend to have someone understand how to cut it properly. I can feel confident knowing that every time I step into the salon, I'll be stepping out with the hairstyle I love.

When I moved and became a true "California girl" 3 years ago, I needed to find the right laid back cool salon/stylist to match. Well, I didn't have to look far because Kyle Mathis salon and the man himself live up to all the great reviews and more.
I have naturally curly hair and have had the unfortunate past experience of hair trauma by another salon (hack job). What I love about Kyle is his vision. He can look at your hair and see what you don't see. The finished, beautiful, amazing hair that really puts a pep in your step.
I never thought I could have an actual "look" or "style" but Kyle really understands and makes your cut/style unique to fit your personality. He is also very honest when you have ideas or ask his opinion, which is really appreciated. He just knows his "sh*t" that well and will tell you honesty if it will look good or not. And he's never been wrong. Plus he's a really nice person and very positive, along with the lovely salon space he has created.
Kyle is also open minded and enthusiastic when you want to change things up. I've had dark blonde, light blonde, ombré, cut shorter, etc. He's the only person I've let cut my hair a significant amount in 20 years. Yes, I trust him that much. And trust me that if you want your hair to look the best, go to Kyle Mathis because he's the best.

I went to Kyle on a last second blonde hair venture (which can always be nerve-wracking), however I am so happy to have come across Kyle's website on Yelp with a 5 star rating that can't be argued with. I went in with heavy roots and Kyle worked magic on my hair adding highlights to help lift the yellow (as I prefer platinum) without using heavy bleach that would damage my hair. We even watched Parrot video's jamming out to slayer, so it was an overall fantastic experience. Kyle listened to what I wanted the outcome of my hair to be and exerted perfection.

The best hair stylist in west LA . extremely precise and listens to what you want. Genius colorist. Great with curly hair , red heads , blondes , brunettes you name it . Amazing with extensions. All around amazing stylist.
