Video: Superintendent-elect Scott Smith sworn in

Scott Smith has officially taken the reins as Bossier Parish Schools superintendent.

A reception was held in honor of Smith, followed by a swearing-in ceremony at 6 p.m. during the school board meeting. The event was hosted at the Bossier Instructional Center and open to the public. School board members, community members and Bossier Parish Schools personnel joined in congratulating Smith during the reception.

"The words I had to repeat made me understand the great responsibility I have," Smith said. "I will use every bit of the energy I have to propel our school system forward strictly for the benefit of our children's education."
