Blinded by anger, the man who had sworn to protect me,
shot me in a fit of rage when I was only sixteen years old.

He thought he killed me.
But my job wasn’t finished yet.

My days are spent as President of the Heavens Guardians MC.
Nights are spent searching for the scum of the earth.

Rapists, Murderers, Pedophiles.
They all answer to me.

I thought I’d seen it all.
Thought my heart couldn’t be any darker.
Thought I knew exactly how far I was willing to go.

Then a battered and broken woman was found behind our clubhouse,
and I realized, I’ve never had a clue about the monster that lurks within.

They may call me Priest,
but I’d sell my soul to the devil before I let anything take her away from me.

Welllllllllll this was........ Different

20 year old former foster child Willow is on the run from her abusive cop husband. As she finally makes it to town she unfortunately witnesses the murder of a man. Desperate to save herself and her unborn child Willow runs from the two murderers who want to get rid of the unexpected witness to their crime. In her escape attempt Willow is injured but days later she's rescued by the President of Heaven's Guardians MC.

When Priest was 16 years old his foster father shot him, he's saved by the angel of death and given another chance. Now, 20 years later, he's the President of his MC and relatively content with his life..... Until he discovers a broken woman on his property. Priest instantly knows she's his. They have a short period of calm until Willow's past is exposed and her evil ex returns.

********
First of all after that whole angel of death debacle I thought this would turn into a PNR. I just ummmm don't get it?
When the mcs meet Willow is a girl beaten, starved, dehydrated and bruised. Aside from the fact that she rolls with it like it never happened the H is attracted to her and about 4 days later they're making out. I don't exactly need realism in my romance but I need it to make sense
Willow kept her pregnancy from Priest for almost the entire book and I felt that was so unfair. They were together all along and she lets him find out in a bad way
Willow is hurt again later on and again when she's kidnapped by her abusive ex. She rolls with it at every instance
All of the above were issues I had but none as big as the revelation in the last part of the book. When Priest was shot at 16 he was trying to protect his girlfriend from their raping foster father. Willow is the child of his former girlfriend. Now he didn't have sex with his ex but he loved her. If she had lived Willow would've been his stepdaughter at least. I'm not a fan of"keeping it in the family " so this didn't work for me

There were quite a few religious references but the idea that he'd been spared death as a teen so he could come back and get rid of murderers, rapists and abusers rubbed me the wrong way. The Bible says thou shall not kill.....it never said except in the case of rapists etc. I usually don't let reality affect my romance reading but that point bothered me

All in all I'd like to read the other guys stories but I think I'll take a break before I give it a go

No cheating
Insta on speed
h is pregnant and on the run
20 year age gap
See above for the point about her mom
H had been with women and had ONS but we're only told. Thankfully we don't get any club whores and such
h's ex seemed to have been her only

Wow, this book was amazing and had everything I expect from a good MC book. Ashely Lane's writing flowed wonderfully and she portrayed her characters perfectly flaws and all. I literally couldn't put this book down, this being her debut book it is an excellent one.

This is Priest and Willow's story. The characters are so enigmatic and true to life, Willow has had such a tragic life as it is and then she happens upon something that threatens her future even more. Holding on by a thread this woman is in desperate need of help. I was so drawn to Willow, her problems made me feel her desperation and her need, my heart went out to this poor woman.

Priest is harbouring secrets from a past that he is trying to forget but he keeps reliving the moments in his mind, constantly hanging around like a bad smell, guilt is the devil that sits on his shoulders. When Priest encounters Willow for the first time little does he know how this woman will change the course of his life with lots of secrets unravelling bit by bit along the way.

Tension, angst galore, brutal moments to make you hold your breath, sadness and hope all come together, as well as love, devotion and loyalty to make this story just perfect. Each character: Patch, Bullet, Angel, and Demon will get to tell their own stories in future books and I really cannot wait to get to know them better and find out what makes them the men they are today.

A totally awesome and addictive story that I totally recommend!!!

What a super keep you on the edge of your seat read! Ashley Lane knows how to keep you wondering while you fall in love with her main crew! Not only did I fall for Priest and Willow but for all the MC men. I want to wrap up all the boys in a blanket and tell them that it will all be ok. I think however our author will take care of that in each of their books.

Willow and Priest were really great characters with a life that hasn’t been easy for either of them and yet they never give up. They have an instant connection that makes you go wow. They both have secrets that eventually have to see the light.

This is truly unlike any other MC book I have ever read. I love how original it is with the MC’s purpose. There is action, suspense, love and a true friendship that is like no other.

I look forward to what comes next for the boys of Heaven’s Guardians MC!

Mega spoilers ahead, so be warned.

I found it really awkward and a bit gross that the Heroine was the daughter from his former girlfriend (died after giving birth, Heroine was an orphan). Even if he never slept with his girlfriend, he was in love with her. I didn't like this twist.

Hero had many relationships and one night stands, even having a few women he thought were the one. While Heroine only had one relationship with an abusive cop.

Heroine gets beaten and abused and hurt and kidnapped and so on. All the while being pregnant. I found it to be too much. And guess what? She didn't suffer it. Just lived her life as nothing happened.

These were my main problems with the story. The writing style was good and I enjoyed reading it.

A little too sugary sweet for me.

I was looking for a new MC series to get sucked into but by a new author I haven’t read before. Usually OOT alpha males chasing after the Heroine is my jam, but there’s something about the author’s writing style that just didn’t jive with me.

Overall, the book is okay. I just felt like the Hero fell insta-love too easily. I usually love this type of writing, but I couldn’t get into it. He was just so all over her and she was such a damsel. Again, I usually love these types of writing! It doesn’t read like an MC book. The guys are all “hardcore” but they respect and love women and bow to their feet. Everyone has a trouble past and because of this, they can’t hurt women. It was really pushing it for me.

I think the one thing I can pin-point that kind of bother me about the writing style is that it’s a little repetitive and a little slow. I felt like the author mentions one thing and then a few paragraphs later mentions the thing again but in a different way. Maybe a little editing could help on this? Also, the time-line is just too slow for me. We get a scenes that are drawn out, but then zip, it’s like 4 weeks later. What?

There really isn’t any character building in this book. The author does put effort in world building and introducing the secondary characters, got to make that money.

Oh and don’t be fooled by the first chapter, it has a paranormal vibe, but that’s not it. I was totally put off by that chapter, honestly it should have been cut out.

I can’t anymore with the insta love simply by laying eyes on a heroine. It felt ridiculous considering how they meet and the condition our girl was in. also lol sons of anarchy was mentioned twice by 20% which made me roll my eyes. ‘Baby’ was way overused throughout - like every paragraph. Usually I don’t mind pet names but it’s over done in this one. It kept taking me out of the story because it became almost funny.. Also there’s a paranormal element at play that came out of nowhere and didn’t quite fit. the hero was brought back to life by the angel of death azrael. I get that’s what the authors basis for this series is but it felt cheese ball for an Mc series. I tried to like this book - I finished but nah mate i just couldn’t get behind it at the end of the day. Wouldn’t continue with the series. Also how did There’s suspending your belief in book world but that situation made it impossible.

Washed in Blood is book 1 in the Heaven's Guardians MC and it definietly took me by surprise. First I think it's important to say it's best you go into this with an open mind, there are references to God but it doesn't have a religious feel and the H has a connection to h's past. This book is definitely not what I was expecting but it worked for me. It's also important to included that it's a mess at times, plot holes, timeline issues, eye rolling moments and a big issue for many insta everything. Now with that being said I couldn't put it down and I was totally drawn in by this authors writing and I think she has alot of potential. I enjoyed the introduction of all the men and I look forward to their stories especially Demon. The really damaged and angry ones are always my favorite. Overall if you can suspend reality and enjoy the authors writing I definitely would recomend this one, but it's NOT AN MC book if that's what you want and it has a 16 year age gap.

Heaven’s Guardian’s MC Book 1 Washed in Blood is an outstanding debut!
Ashley Lane is one talented author who needs to be followed!
To say this is one of the best MC Romance books I have ever read is as easy and turning the pages. The way Ashley has written Washed in Blood is not your typical MC read. The rules of the club and they way of life is absolutely not what I expected, but devoured! Yes, completely devoured!
Priest and Willow are both broken souls who have had the world hand them heartbreak and despair. Meeting by what could possibly be fate you are pulled into this book and you don’t want it to end.

Thank you so much to an amazing Ashley for allowing an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review! ❤️🖤

What happens when two tortured souls find their one true love? In Washed In Blood we find out just how hard two people will fight for what they both deserve.
Priest is a man in a mission. He is out to right the wrongs that evil plays in our world. He is the president of the Heaven's Guardian MC and one strong man that has been put through hell and back. He is a strong leader and his men will follow him anywhere.
Willow is our heroine that is stronger than most. Her life has been one disappointment after another. Not letting her upbringing define her, she does what any strong woman would do, she sets out to better herself.
As their story plays out, we see how things are not always as they seem. We always hear God works in mysterious ways, and in this book we get a glimpse at just how mysterious his ways really are.
This is the beginning to a new MC series. The author did a fantastic job at introducing us to all the brothers, and giving us a glimpse into just what each of them have gone through. I love reading MC books where the brotherhood is strong, and loyalty is their strongest strength. As we will learn in this book family doesn't always share blood, but we see just how loyal these men are to each other.

Washed in Blood by Ashley Lane is the first book in the Heaven's Guardians Series. This is the story of
Willow James and Kingston 'Priest'.
Priest was shot when he was around 16 years old when he protected someone that was not meant to be hurt. Although he 'died' he was informed by angel named Azreal that he needed to go back as it wan't his time. Now about 20 years later, Priest has met other men who want to save innocent people. Now Priest is the President of the Heaven's Guardian which is a vigilante MC club.
Willow is being abused by her husband and in addition happens to seen something she shouldn't have putting her life in jeopardy...if that wasn't enough she is pregnant.
When Priest finds and holds Willow he knows a peace that he never had before. Priest goes forward to protect her and keep her, but Willow doesn't trust easy.
This was such a great story...a page turner for me. Loved the secondary characters and hope to read more from them in the next books.

Holy wow this book? I have no words. It was so beyond great. Half the time I never saw it coming. It’s definitely a lot darker than I’m use to reading but I couldn’t put it down. This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read the other stories. Especially Angel I fell in love with that man! *At the time of my review this book is available on Kindle Unlimited*

I wanted to love this book. It’s a supernatural spin on motorcycle club dark romances, but it’s not too heavy on these paranormal elements. While I liked the two main characters, Priest and Willow, the side characters were mostly lacking. I love Demon, but it turns out that his book doesn’t even exist on Amazon anymore! The other guys--Angel, Bullet, and Patch didn’t particularly interest me, despite their tragic backstories that were hinted at.
I love the idea of how Priest died when he was only 16 years old, spent about 8 minutes “on the other side” and met the Angel of Death, who’s directed him in what to do with his life. I wish that more time was spent exploring his supernatural calling. Of course, this book has insta-love, though it was a little too insta, in the sense that they never really questioned their own feelings for each other. This is particularly strange when you consider Willow’s bad luck in love in the past.
One thing about this book that really grated on my nerves was inconsistencies in the timelines and the way that the author related how much time has passed. It bothers me to no end when it’s clearly the next day, (Like, with a literal “The next day, she woke up”) yet the characters say that something that happened the previous day happened “last week”. It pulls me out of the story, because I’m trying to figure out when things have really happened. I can tolerate this a few times in a book, but this happened a dozen times.
All in all, 3 stars because it’s a unique spin on the MC romance, but I don’t think I’ll be exploring the rest of the books in this series (unless Demon’s book randomly reappears on Amazon).

5 amazing stars for this debut novel by Ashley Lane. This book just blew me away. I was sucked right in from the beginning and then decided that sleep was optional because I could not put it down until the very end. I wasn’t sure what to expect because this isn’t your typical MC romance. Washed In Blood has a unique storyline with beautifully broken and complex characters, action, and suspense.

Priest/Kingston was murdered at 16 years-old while defending an innocent, but it wasn’t his time as according to the angel Azreal, he still had a purpose. (I know that sounds like a paranormal premise, but it isn’t). Twenty years later, he is the president of a vigilante-type MC club. I absolutely adored Priest. He is strong, intelligent, and loves fiercely. He has a great sense of loyalty towards his fellow MC brothers and has dedicated his life towards serving justice against those who prey on others. When he encounters Willow, he feels a sense of calm when near her, but he also feels deep-seated protectiveness towards her. I loved how caring and loving he was towards her.

Willow is a heroine who’s story is sure to pull at your heartstrings. She is young - only 20 years-old and has already led a long and difficult life. Even having endured so much in her short life, she never stops fighting. She is a survivor and continues to persevere even when it seems like she will never be able to stop running. Trust is hard to come by, but she starts to feel safe with Priest.

I loved watching Priest and Willow’s relationship develop. The author did a great job in making the reader feel that undeniable connection between them. There are moments of tenderness between them as well as some pretty hot scenes. The secondary characters are also well developed. I enjoyed learning about the dark pasts of each of the MC members and I am really hoping that the author gives each of them their own book as I am curious about their stories.

Washed In Blood is not for the faint of heart. It is a book full of action and suspense. It is fast-paced and will leave you flipping the pages to find out what happens, but also dreading the moment the book ends because it is that good. There are scenes of violence and abuse (not between the hero and heroine). This is the debut novel by this author and I am thoroughly impressed with her style and quality of writing as well as the intricate plot. I loved the characters and how this book is not your typical MC romance. I received Washed In Blood for free and I am definitely looking forward to more of this author’s works.

When i found the sample on bookfunnel, and read it,i bought the book from iTunes straight away.
Sadly,it sat there waiting for me for a while after,as others demanded my rapt attention.
Now that i’ve finally taken the time it needed to read it,i have to say i’m glad i did.

A dark story with a little “heavenly” twist, this one introduces us to Priest first.
As a young man,he tried to save his sweet friend Doe,but fails miserably and ends up “dead”,only to be given a second chance to make things right.

Fast forward 20 years, and he’s living the mc life with 4 other men, that like him have been beaten down and demand justice. They find sinners, and serve the kind of “justice” those evil men deserve.
One night,Bullet comes to him with the fact that somebody’s tripped one of the security-wires.
Reaching the area, they search it together, and Priest finds a slip of a girl, nearly frozen to death, hiding in a gap underneath a fallen tree.
His protective instincts flare to life, and he’ll do anything in his power to save this girl.

Willow’s lead a hard life, and finding out she’s pregnant gave the final push to flee.
Waking up in Priest’s bed,in his compound, wasn’t something she expected after the last blow life wanted to deliver......
They grow closer slowly,as she starts to trust him and his friends.
And as she starts to develop feelings for this man.
But is her past done with her?
Do they have a chance to be together?
Now thát is the question.....

This was a well written story, that had romance, heartbreak and suspence.
I enjoyed it,and if the author decides to come back to iTunes with the follow-ups,i might try to find out more about these men....

Amount of sex 2.5 / 5
How explicit are the sex scenes 3 / 5
Story 4.5 / 5
Overall: 4.5 / 5

Washed in Blood is Ashley Lane’s debut novel and it’s also the first book in the Heaven’s Guardians MC series. I love MC romances, and I’m continually looking for my next fix. The cover originally drew me in, but it was the description that really got me. I have a weakness for strong dominant men, which these guys definitely are!

Washed in Blood tells the story of Priest and Willow and it’s a bit different than any other biker book that I’ve read.  Priest is on a mission to rid the world of the worst possible people, the ones who shouldn’t be allowed to live. He stumbles upon Willow, who’s hurt and is hiding from those that are trying to hurt her. As she heals, Priest falls hard for Willow. Although she is keeping a big secret from him.  What will happen when he finds out?  Can he still keep her safe and away from those trying to hurt her?

This was an amazing story, and it was well written. I can’t wait for the next book!  I’m hoping it will be Demon’s story!

Deeply emotional, Washed In Blood will dig deep in your heart. Willow and Priest have lived through hell, no seriously they've lived through hell. For Priest, it was tragedy that tainted his soul. For Willow, it was tragedy and abuse that tainted hers. Both are so good though, they didn't let their pasts define who they are as people. Priest runs the most kickass MC. A good one, though even they have their secrets. Willow is on the run, trying to do everything to escape. Even living on the streets. When these two meet? It's like watching fireworks explode. An undeniable connection is formed between them. I wish we saw it build up more, but I was glad to see both finally lose themselves in each other. The entire MC is full of damaged men, but men who have big hearts. Perfect place for Willow who has the biggest heart capable enough to love every one of them. I cried, I swooned, I sighed, I giggled. Washed In Blood gives us a beautiful story of two people who lost hope and found it again with each other.

What a debut for this new author! We get a unique twist on the MC genre and impeccable story telling. This book kicks off the Heaven's Guardian MC series. The MC is a unique blend of men who have gone through hell and back. Now they make sure other innocents don't fall to the same evils. Priest is the President of the club. He rescues a woman half frozen to death and just knows that she is meant to be his.

Lots of intrigue and a bit of suspense. Quite a bit of violence. And I am a avid reader of MC books so I don't say this lightly. What Willow has gone through and continues to endure in this story stretched my imagination just a bit. By the last quarter of the book, I was sure she would not survive -- what person could. I would have much rather seen the MC doling out the penalty than for Willow to continually have been the target.

That's just my preference. The author did a great job with the flow of the story. Editing is spot on. I want more! Can't wait to see what the other brothers get up to.

This is hands down the most unique MC romance I have ever read. There is absolutely nothing to compare Washed in Blood to because there is nothing else like it. I had chills right from the very beginning and then I was whisked into a gripping story that would not let me go. I ended up biting my nails to death from the suspense, sobbing my heart out with the emotions and utterly in love with these characters while reading.
Willow and Priest both have some of the most devastating histories I’ve ever read. Tragedy and pain seem to just haunt them both until the day Priest finds her. From there one of the sweetest romances is born. That sweet love however doesn’t mean the grittiness of the MC and the past aren’t still there though. I really cannot wait to see what Ashley Lane has in store for the future. All I know is I’m dying for more from this world.

Young Willow is on the run. She’s pregnant, fleeing her abusive husband and in doing so she witness’s something that puts her in further danger, she has to hide, desperately.
Enter the Guardians MC, they deal with the dirt in society. The brothers follow Priest, a broken soul, the Prez of the club and their saviour, and when a surprise individual catches his eye, all things begin to change for Priest.
Finally Willow begins to feel safe, unfortunately fate is not too far behind.

An exciting book with a thrilling plot and tantalizing secondary characters who’s stories I can’t wait to read. This story was a riveting book that had me enthralled in the excitement and the insta love was great and fit wonderfully with the rest of the story.

I really enjoyed this book and I’m now eagerly awaiting the next in the series, Patch.
I highly recommend this story!

Bravo!!!!The debut novel of Ashley Lane hit it out of the park!! Right from the very first page I was dragged into this story and couldn’t stop until the very last page! Kingston aka Priest survived the horrors of his youth. Now, Priest is the President of the Heaven’s Guardians MC. Ruling with an iron fist, they protect the innocent...serving their own kind of justice. When a wire is tripped on their property they find a girl and will stop at nothing to save her. Willow is on the run when she finds herself in more trouble than she planned. Trying to survive, she gets rescued by a man named Priest and brought to his MC. He is drawn to her but doesn’t know why? Priest and Willow are Magic! “We all have scars. Some of them we bare on the outside for the world to see, some we carry on the inside, close to our hearts.” This is a perfect MC series and I cannot wait to get more from this author! I don’t want to say to much b so just wait until you read this one. Told in dual POV.

This was an unusual MC read. Part paranormal, this group of damaged vigilantes rid the world of its scum as directed by Azrael, the Angel of Death. But there’s still insta-love, lots of “grrrr, mine!” and a sweet HEA.

But the story has a lot going on, several red-herrings and threads probably to be sorted out in later books as well as a frustrating lead character who promised to keep the h safe, yet still loses her another two times. I don’t expect the heroes to be infallible but at the crucial point he’s an unforgivable arsehole and definitely lost brownie points with me, regardless of the ending.

Overall this was an interesting take on an MC but fell back on several cliches that had me rolling my eyes. This series looks set to be quite the dark and painful angst-fest based on what we’re told is the backstory of some members so I probably won’t continue but YMMV.

There are a lot of things that I actually liked about this book and some that didn't work for me, but overall I would like to read the next book in the series. So you guessed correctly, the things I liked outnumbered the ones that I didn't like.
The paranormal aspect of the book was just perfect! I love MC books where the club takes law in their own hands! The story was smooth and easy to read and I liked the epilogue.
On the other hand, I had a feeling of deja vu while reading the final chapters of the book. Also, I'm not a big fan of the 20-year age-gap, the fact that Willow was married during the whole duration of the book, regardless that her marriage was abusive. That being said, this book is still one of the top MC books I've read in 2023!

Whoa! This book isn’t what I expected and that is in a good way! This book put a spin on a MC romance I haven’t seen before.

Priest’s story is very unique along with the men he calls family. He has a calling in life that isn’t normal compared to other MC’s. Each man with him serves their own individual purpose.

Willow is part of Priest’s journey through life and their connection is immediate. Secrets come to surface from both of them that leave you spinning and wondering what is next to come.

This is a great start to a new series! I’m excited to learn more about each man in the MC and their stories.

Priest is just full of awe with his woman, “okay.” She nods before snuggling back in facing the TV again. “Don’t be gone too long.” I stand staring at her, shocked at how well she handled that..." I liked this book, I liked Priest.
