A brand new rockstar romance that will have you wanting more of Justice and Hazel, and their past that brings them to have a powerful connection to each other...

I have to be honest here with y'all (like if that hasn't been happening already)... I am not the biggest fan of rockstar or musician romances. Not a fan of celebrity romances either. I don't find them authentic for some reason. However, I sometimes give certain books a try because I am enticed by the synopsis. This novel was a perfect example of said motivations. And can we also admire this cover? Like wow! I don't really think I have ever seen a cover such as this one. It's unique side to it is also another appealing factor! But in all honesty, N.N. Britt is a new author to me and this year I am all about reading new authors. I am so glad I did not miss out on this story because I truly did enjoy aspects of it in which I never thought I would.

This story is not only an emotional roller coaster with characters that have complicated pasts, but there is a new thrilling and fun side to it that makes the new attitude of the main female character, Hazel, have a new meaning to having fun in life. As a soon to be divorcee, Hazel finds herself in a pickle were she is questioning to help her new fond attraction that is Justice. Because of her past and current dilemmas, she is trying to keep hidden and to herself. But once Justice's past comes into play, she knows that not helping him through his struggles is something that she cannot not do. When Justice is put in the place where his past and his future is at stake, he knows that Hazel is the one who can help him out. That attraction and mysterious side that they both have is present, and it's what makes me actually adore them both. Justice is a moody and rugged main character, in which I have never truly been fans of. But there is this side to him that makes you want to keep reading his story, makes you want to hug him. Hazel on the other hand, is this strong minded and soul seeking main female character that has so much strength in her ready to combust to the world. In the eyes of Justice, she is definitely hiding something. Hiding her true self, and he wants more of her because of that mystery;
"But right now, I can't stop staring at the tiny bits of all the shades of gold in that gaze shooting right into my soul. The yellow pole light illuminating her face is suddenly making me see the things I failed to notice during our first encounter. I like how her forehead meets my chin and how her hair falls over her shoulders in messy cascades of gold...

There is a lot in this story that has you on the edge of your seat. Not in a thrill seeking type of way where there is drama left and right. More like there is tension between Hazel and Justice that I am normally the biggest fan of it, but yet again, it has just hit the right spots for me. Thank you so much to N.N. Britt for letting me read her debut novel. I am so happy that it turned out the way it did, as I was hesitant to dive in but I am glad I risked it.

I began reading Rapture in March and sadly had to put it aside to meet a deadline. Today I was finally able to finish it. The story is so strong, so well written, that it stayed with me through my hiatus, and when I picked it up again it was as if I’d never put it down.

I’m a huge fan of the broken man trope. Broken woman is harder to pull off, IMO, but Britt nails it. Hazel makes real, human mistakes. Even if you don’t share her addiction or her grief, you can relate to her as a woman just trying to cope. Justice is the quintessential rock god with a sensitive side that somehow doesn’t make him come off as soft. Britt masters his POV chapters, and if I didn’t know better, I’d wonder if N.N. Britt was the pen for a male/female writing duo. But Britt is a she, a very talented she, whose experience as a Los Angeles-based music journalist and photographer gives Rapture an honest and authentic feel. Rapture is a fantastic debut, and N.N. Britt is an author to watch.

Dirty, heart-breaking and incredibly bewitching. I was enamoured from page one. This book made me feel too much. I feel raw and hungover.

Hazel has lost the most important person to her. Although it happend two years ago, the wound is still gaping open. She hasn’t even began the process of healing and that has left her without a husband. She has taken some time out and escaped to find herself again but it’s so difficult. She turns to alcohol. It’s the only thing that helps her cope and escape. While out to numb herself she meets Justice. He is an international rockstar who is also in the middle of a nasty divorce and custody battles. Hazel is far from Justice’s type. She is too pure and stubborn with a boatload of problems yet he gravitates to her. Their relationship between them is rocky. They both come from different worlds. Justice’s world is full of paparazzi, crazy fans and a crazy ex. Hazel doesn’t know if she is up for that. She is dealing with the loss of her child and she wants to so that in peace with lots of alcohol and the feeling Jutice evokes in her make it harder yet so euphoric.

This is the debut novel by N.N. Britt and it was executed flawlessly. She brought these two complex characters to life. This book deals with grief that leads to alcoholism. Grief that is so had to overcome. It is not swept aside or forgotten just because she is getting laid by a famous rockstar.

“Some days, Justice Cross reminds me of a panther, dangerously slick and gracious; but some other days, like today, he is a big fuzzy sensitive cat looking for some human affection and comfort.”

The sex was so f*cking hot. I’m usually not into this type of sex scenes but you can see why it’s needed. This book is not soft in any way. Justice is as dirty as they come. The mouth on this man..... so freaking hot. Although Hazel comes off as innocent and plain at first, she is quiet feisty and sheds her normal self when it comes to sex. They are both raging infernos looking for salvation in each other.

Wow! I'm simply stunned! A debut author, really?

I fell in love with Hazel and Justice. Justice is a cocky rockstar who seems to have it all. He's always been rather selfish with women but is surprisingly caring and concerned for Hazel. Hazel is a grieving mother who is barely holding it together. Her son died two years ago and her husband is waiting for her to sign divorce papers. She is going through the motions of living and numbs her pain daily with alcohol. Fate brings them together in the strangest way and then the paparazzi make assumptions and before you know it they are dubbed "Jazel" and living a fake relationship for a while. The reality is that an attraction was present from the beginning. Did I mention that there are some very hot and spicy scenes in this book? Well, you may need a fan. That's all I'll say...

I liked getting the story from both Hazel and Justice's perspectives. It allows you to really understand each of their characters better. You see their motivations, weaknesses, pain and happiness more clearly. Even though society doesn't realize it, Justice is damaged in his own way and has been changed by his life's experiences. He and Hazel definitely have strong feelings and want to be together but there are so many things working against them. Hazel is intimidated by his fame and everything that comes with it, including the paparazzi and crazy fans. She also doesn't want to endanger his chance of getting joint custody of his son. Justice knows Hazel is emotionally fragile and doesn't want to push her too fast. Their path towards ultimately being together is a rocky and difficult one. The best things in life don't come easily though. Their story is rough and gritty at times, but there is also such beauty in it.

Lastly, I would like to compliment the author on the use of foreshadowing within the story to hint at things that would happen down the road. Along that same line, I thought the Epilogue worked well. It was a different and clever way of relaying the information.

As my review shows, I absolutely loved this book! I'm going to carry "Jazel" around in my heart for quite a while...

I'm at the point where almost every rockstar book I read seems like the same recycled story, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that Rapture was something completely different.

In it, we meet two people, a cocky rockstar with a dark side who's forced to face everything in the public eye while he tries to keep his private demons at bay, and an ordinary woman who's experienced devastating heartbreak and is dealing with her own demons.

They're both damaged but in completely different ways as they each try to navigate through what life has thrown at them, one in public and one in private, and as much as they want to be there for each other, it becomes apparent that until she can take care of her own problems, she can't be fully available for him. And before he can be her salvation, she must first be willing to be saved.

This story was dark, gritty, and heartbreaking yet also romantic and sexy and I absolutely adored it! N.N. Britt is an amazing writer and I'm shocked that this is her debut. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

When I was offered an ARC and saw the synopsis of this book I had to read it as I love rock star books.

This is different and the not the standard rock star fair and I loved it. I like the dual perspective so you get to really know the characters.

Hazel had been through something no one should have to go through and she was broken. Justice was broken in a different way. Together they worked - loved how patient Justice was and how he was so understanding. There was everything in this book - humour, passion, love, turmoil

The only thing missing for me was an epilogue with the characters. The announcement epilogue was not enough for me. We as readers had been through the ups and downs with these characters and I would have loved to see where they were a few years down the lane.

I certainly will be reading other books by this author as cannot believe this is a debut!

For a debut this is an absolute stunner! I was pulled in from the start with the gripping emotion and real life issues that are beautifully written with intricacy. It's not simple and is different from most rockstar story but in a good way, although the story is just as much about a broken women lost in her sorrow as it is about a rockstar at a crossroad in his life. There are some depressing moments in the story that added weight and let you know this isn't a fluffy rockstar read. This was so realistic in Hazel's paralyzed sadness over her tragic lost and even the rockstar side of the story seemed more authentic in Justice's assholery, entitled behavior, and the chaos that comes with fame. But he has his own grief he's dealt with, so in a way he can sympathize with Hazel's condition. And talk about drama in the life of a rockstar with an evil so-to-be ex and a son. It really shows that fame comes with a price, one that Hazel is not sure she wants to be a part of when she's dragged into the fray. Hazel and Justice's whole journey to love is fraught with so many obstacles you wonder if they will ever get there. They both have so much to overcome separately and Justice has to show a different side to win Hazel over. She is so not impressed with his lifestyle, but he is magnetic and beautiful. I really loved both the light and dark sides of Justice and everything in between. He's a sexy beast of a character! Their sexual encounters are panty melting and had me rereading the good parts. Love the sexy times but there are a few dark parts that may disturb some readers, but hey it's a dirty rocker story. Those guys are into everything. I gotta say I was a little thrown by the drama at the end but it did serve to resolve some of Hazel's grief and let her move on. It also let Justice shine in his new reality. The development and growth of these characters as the story progressed is fantastic. The care they had for each other was a thing of beauty and created a couple that will live in my heart for a long time. This is definitely a read again story. Kudos to Ms. Britt for a writing feat of spectacular proportions. Also, I was so glad to see a woman featured on the cover rather than a half naked man. Can't wait for the story to come from this fabulous new author. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

If you like ROCKSTAR romances, you will LOVE RAPTURE! Justice Cross is so different from any other Rockstar you will ever meet. If this is NN Britt's debut, I CANNOT wait to see what she has in store for us readers. It's heart wrenching, honest, and incredible. Hazel and Justice deserve the love they find after what they go through. And she can write a MALE POV like no other!

I am glad I decided to read this book. It had everything that appeals to me in a book. Hazel has a tragic history and Justice is the bad boy rockstar with a bit of a train wreck backstory himself.

When they first meet Hazel is in a downward spiral. She has lost someone very important to her and doesn't know how to move on. Hazel decides to help Justice with a problem and Hazel's world will never be the same. Hazel struggles to live in the high profile life that Justice has, but when her personal tragedies and problems go public, it's all too much for her. Justice just struggles everyday to be a better man, but being in the lifestyle that he has for so long he doesn't always get it right.

This is a great debut novel by N.N. Britt. I would definitely read anything she writes and I hope she has some other bad boy rockstars she wants to write about. Loved this book!!!

This book was beautiful and long ride filled with fighting for custody, divorce stress, sadness but also emotions, lust and love.

Hazel is surrounded with her dark thoughts, barely functioning,  flushing her sorrows with alcohol to survive day after day in a hell of agony and numbness, after her son's death.

Justice is arrogant, "he has it all" musician, although on the inside fighting the demons of his past.

Both are getting divorce, his is ugly, followed by press, paparazzi and his wife's social media accusations. Hers is just sadness and the only way to start over.

When they meet,  she is thrown in the middle of all his chaos.

They fight their feelings for one another, trying to let go of their past and learn to trust.

But the way to their HEA is more than stony, full of hurdles. How could their love survive all this?

This book was amazing, tence and masterfully written. I am sure it wasn't my last by N.N. Britt

N.n. Britt your amazing!! Rapture captured my attention from the very first page and it doesn’t allow you to let it go until it’s done!! Her loss and his battle and their need for each other was exciting and heartbreaking at the same time. You have to root for this unlikely pair to make it and to find the love they both so need along with respect, honesty and commitment to each other! They both are struggling to deal with demons and it creates a burning passion that will leave you still smoking!!

I started out loving it, then I got sick of reading pages and pages of Hazel's self pity and self medicating and I thought won't someone force Hazel to get some help? Her BF? Parents? Even Justice who experienced loss from a friend's OD? Anyone?
Ahh Justice, let's talk about Justice. I loved that Justice was a self centered asshole, it's how I picture most of the famous people in the music business and it felt real while reading. Yes I know, I am painting with a broad brush and all that blah blah blah. But I loved him so.

I don’t tend to read a lot of rockstar romances, but once I started this story I couldn’t stop!

Hazel has endured one of the worst losses a person can face and struggles to just make it through the day. Justice has his own struggles, and when he crosses paths with Hazel both their lives take one interesting turn after another. This story pulled me in from the beginning and I only wanted more after I read the last page! Passion, angst, heartbreak, love...this story has it all and more!!!

I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review.

A word of advice, just block a few hours off to zone out with this novel, you’re going to need it! This was an absolutely unputdownable read. I wouldn’t say it’s typically my preferred style of romance but I was won over the depth of the emotion and situations portrayed in this novel. I was beyond impressed that this is a debut novel.

The premise of this novel is Hazel, a former housewife struggling to come to terms with the death of her young son meeting Justice, an international rock superstar at a bar but in the most plausible way- there will be no eye rolling (okay not too much). But this is no Notting Hill movie, where the biggest problem is can the non-famous person deal with The Fame. No, Hazel and Justice have bigger problems dealing with grief, alcoholism, regret, divorce, addiction and how to move on after you’ve lost your way. This is an incredibly emotional, angsty, gritty read that will drag you through the wringer emotionally and leave you filled with hope for the healing power of love. And despite the somewhat fairytale premise, it never feels contrived or flimsy. It’s a story with depth and meaning and pain and healing. A serious and gritty book wrapped in romance cotton candy, if you will.

The writing, the plotting characters and dialogue in this are overall very good. It starts off a little stilted and a bit like a writing exercise and you might think “oh dear, what is this going to be like,” but it quickly warms up and becomes incredibly readable and realistic and you can imagine the characters and feel what they feel.

By virtue of the themes (particularly grief, addiction, and some somewhat violent and sexual situations (not assault, don’t worry)), this novel is dysfunction and triggers galore but not at all in an irresponsible way. It’s one of those where in real life, you’d say it’s unwise for the hero and heroine to be together because of their issues which they definitely need to be sorting out professionally, but in the novel, in romanceville, you’re rooting for them to heal from their problems and end up together.

I recommend this to anyone who’s interested in dark, angsty romances or romance novels featuring rockstars and non-groupies. People who are easily offended or might be triggered by grief or addiction should probably avoid this one.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. That said, as a heavy duty book purchaser myself and someone whose book buying decisions are influenced by reviews, I’d never leave a BS review because I got it for free.

I have got to be honest here people. I don't honestly read rockstar romance books, but it was worth it reading her debut novel. RAPTURE is one of the best, amazing, and beautiful books I have ever read in my entire life. I can't even begin to describe how unreal RAPTURE is and N.N. Britt's talent of writing is. I loved this book so much, and you will to.

Hazel and Justice are so different in every way, but it's what makes them work in their own way. I love these two and they will have a special place in my heart. These two are so amazing and honestly fucked up in their own way, but they complete each other. And don't get me started on their sex scenes. It was getting hot in the room 😏. It was mindblowing and Justice.... is so fucking hot!

It is a roller coaster of emotions in every way. I could be happy one second and then maybe sad or mad the next. These are going through so much when they met each other. Hazel going through a divorce and losing her only son. Justice going through a divorce as well and custody battles.

Even though she lost her son two years ago to leukemia, it was still hard for her to cope with it. And we all deal with grief differently, but we deal with it one way or another. She will never forget her son and the memories along with that, and she will always love him. Nothing in this world can make Hazel forget her own son. Her ex-husband was not there for her when she needed him most. And I'm glad that he wasn't, because maybe she wouldn't have met Justice.

Justice is going through a messy divorce with his now ex-wife and custody battles. Being an international rockstar, his whole life is out in the public. It seemed like he couldn't catch a break. But, when he was at the bar drinking his own problems away, he met Hazel. I like to think Justice knew that something special would happen between the two of them.

RAPTURE is definitely worth the read! I can't wait to see what else she brings for us to read. Also, congrats on getting your debut novel published.

I enjoyed the heck of out the story of Hazel and Justice and, I'll be honest here, rock star romance is not my normal jam! I'm of the thought that you've read one, you've read them all - change the names, change the city, change the style of music, but it's all the same. Well dip me in brine and call me a pickle, this one stood out for me because the writing was beautifully done and the story was raw and full of emotions.

Hazel, a young mother, still mourning the loss of her son, and in impending divorce, is trying to find some peace. She is trying to drown her grief in the haze of alcohol. Justice, who is also going through a divorce and custody battles, gets to watch all his drama all play out in the world of social media because he is a rock star. But not just a rock star, a bad boy rock star that mixes heavy sexual and religious themes. He meets Hazel and the chemistry between these two is off the charts hot hot hot. But Hazel is not prepared for a life in the spotlight, and Justice is not quite sure about shedding his rock star skin to show Hazel the real him. There is a lot of struggle between these two coming together, but it is done so realistically that you feel like you are going through it with them, and you want them to succeed and come out the other side with their happy ever after.

Thank you, N.N. Britt, for putting your story out there for the world to read, and thank you for giving me an opportunity to review it.

4 Solid Stars for this debut novel!

Excellent debut novel from author N.N. Britt. I loved Justice and Hazel’s story. They were both very broken characters dealing with loss and heart break. Although very dark at times, the writing was so powerful that I could feel the angst and turmoil within these main characters. The story that developed kept me riveted and rooting for happiness and tranquility for Hazel and Justice. I really enjoyed this book.

Rapture was totally an emotional ride that had angst for days. I just noticed that it was N.N. Britt's first book, and I was shocked, because I would have never guessed after reading it. So let me get to it. Hazel has come to her friend's Lake Tahoe cabin to get away from her life which has completely fallen apart after losing her young son, and while her friend wants her to get out, Hazel plans to drown her sorrows in alcohol. When she goes into a bar for a couple of drinks one night, she ends up talking to a random stranger, and by the next day, Hazel finds herself in the middle of a messy high profile divorce. See that random stranger just happens to be Justice Cross, the frontman of the famous rock band The Deviant, and his wife is a famous actress. All he was trying to do was help a woman get home, when things got complicated, now he needs her help. This takes them on a hell of a ride, and as they are forced together, all kinds of things happen like intense feelings which surprise them both. But it wasn't an easy road, as the push & pull is most frustrating, especially with Hazel, as she's a hot mess, so you've been warned. And at times, Justice's inner monologue comes off badly because he doesn't know the whole story either, so I spent my time feeling extreme emotions throughout. Added in are big twists every time Hazel would start to get any footing, which in turn, had my f-bombs dropping big time. There's even some sexy times that are intensely HOT, lighting up the sheets. Now, I really want the other guys to have their own stories pretty please, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Deviant Justice 🎶

Loved that cover, caught my eye as I was browsing recommended for me books. That and the blurb drew me in right away, so one clicked this new to me author and settled right into this rockstar romance.

Could this really be a first novel by N.N. Britt? I loved Justice, just trying to support his nephews band, but ends the night reluctantly saving the under the table stranger, drowning in way more than too much Tequila.

Both lead characters had their share of drama and angst, either now or in their past. Could a world famous rockstar in hiding, looking for some peace and Hazel, a woman with nothing else to lose but her sanity, find enough common ground to make something work between them? I wanted to give her a big giant hug right from page one. Rapture took me on quite an unexpected and emotional rollercoaster ride but this time the person with the most issues to overcome is not who you'd think!

Great story, some parts that may have been alittle drawn out for me but still had a very hard time letting these characters go so I could sleep last night..always a good sign!

I taken completely off guard at the somewhat abrupt ending and wished a few more pages or a second epilogue, but that's the way the author chose to end her story. Will there be more to it in another book? Not sure, but I will certainly read another tale from N.N. Britt again.

This book was so well written, I'm shocked that this is her debut. This is a story about two people living a version of themselves that they don't want to live. One because of grief and the other, a nasty divorce that's making headlines. While it took me sometime to adjust to the brokenness in Hazel, her transformation was truly worth the wait. Same with Justice. I love that they each have a battle to fight and win, I love that we get to see them change into who they want to be. This was a well done Story about second chances and I can't wait to read more from N.N Britt.

This is definitely not a rainbows and unicorns romance. This story is not your typical happy go lucky book. This book has grit, lots of grit. The characters have some heavy things going on in their lives. Some are self imposed and some are a tragic twist of fate. And they both have a big challenge when it comes to the two of them getting together. Hazel and Justice have a lot of issues to work through and demons to slay. Watching them struggle to grow as individuals and as a couple was fascinating and rewarding. It was not easy and at times I scream and here were tears, I wanted to reach in a smack one or both of them at any time. And that just shows how the author was so good at creating these real, flawed characters. And because of this you feel so happy and rewarded in the end because they grew into better and stronger individuals and as a couple.

While not necessarily drawn to rock star romances, the story depth that the blurb hinted at had me anticipating a great read. By the way, I understand a great blurb can be difficult to write and Rapture's had the perfect balance of creating interest without giving away too much story. I was correct in my prediction of story depth. Both the hero and heroine are dealing with varying degrees of personal trauma and it's subsequent fallout. As I read the first 20 chapters, I was tentatively excited with how my expectations from the book blurb were being met. Unfortunately, after chapter 21 the story began lagging in its pacing among a few other details. There were multiple moments of internal monologues that became wearisome and a few situations that didn't feel authentic to the character(s.) What began as fabulous writing by a debut author, finished with an excess of words and romantic cliches. I won't divulge details, because of spoilers. I will say that I'm impressed by the quality of writing and story potential, but it was various content from mid-point until the end that didn't work for me.

It's hard to believe that Rapture is Ms. Britt's debut novel. The storyline was compelling. The main characters were deeply complex and exhibited change and growth as the story unfolded. I felt everything, from the depths of Hazel's despair to the highs and lows of Justice's music career, to the delicious dawning of a potentially everlasting love.
I eagerly await Britt's next book.

I’m a huge fan of rock star romances and decided to take a chance on debut author N.N. Britt. I admit that I was lured in by this author’s background as a music journalist, photographer, and metal fan.  She’s a fellow metalhead, so I had to check her out. I’m thrilled to say that N.N. Brit didn’t disappoint. Rapture isn’t a typical cookie cutter rock romance. Without regurgitating the synopsis, I'll top-line it. Justice is the front man for a super popular band called The Deviant. He hides behind his makeup and dark stage persona (for you rock lovers, think Kiss meets Marilyn Mason type of singer). Justice is in the middle of a high profile divorce all while trying to balance being a dad, a rockstar and missing his best friend. He hasn’t been musically inspired since the tragic death of one of his bandmates. Then Hazel tramples into his life. She’s in the middle of a divorce and in a dangerous downward spiral of depression since losing her son.  Hazel is thrust into the spotlight with her every move showing up in the tabloids, and her anxiety and insecurities are magnified for the world to see. Can Justice and Hazel grow from their complicated pasts? Can they heal each other's hearts?

Rapture was heartbreaking and painful to read at times. Hazel and Justice's story felt so raw and real. Hazel even frustrated me. I love when a character gets under my skin. This emotion-packed rock romance was full of heart. I hope debut author N.N. Britt continues to write more books. One-click worthy.

Rapture is the debut novel for this author and I was completely blown away when I found that out. This book was amazing from the writing, to the characters, to the story line and I was completely hooked.

Hazel's situation was heartbreaking. Seeing her falling apart and hiding from the world, I desperately wanted to find out what might help her deal with all of her pain from losing her son. Her emotions were made so real throughout the book and the author definitely took me on a roller coaster of emotions. When she meets Justice her world is turned even more upside down because she is suddenly thrust into the spotlight.

Being forced together, Justice and Hazel begin forming an unexpected friendship. The problem is both of them are broken and not really looking to be fixed.

From start to finish this book had me hooked. The only thing I wish is that the author would have spent more time expanding on the ending. I was not ready to let these characters go and would have loved more closure.

A must read book for sure! - By Alisa

I was so blown away with this amazing book, especially knowing that this was the authors first published book!!

So congratulations 🎊🍾🎈 on your first debut!!!

Rapture by N.N Britt is very highly recommended, especially if you looking for a book that will break you emotionally.

Hazel and Justice has a very special place in my heart and I believe every details of them was created perfectly.

I can still feel like I’m sitting next to Hazel listening and understanding, while grieving about all the struggles she goes through including Justice.

This book is a roller coaster ride so I suggest you get yourself ready because once you open this book there will be no way to close it until you reach the last chapter!!

So download this book don’t think about it, just enjoy the ride of Hazel and Justice❤️
