Never give up — you never know if you’re only three feet from achieving your dream.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that the most successful individuals are those who never give up. They possess the grit to always move forward despite any obstacle.

However, most people in life tend to give up too quickly when encountering a setback.

We’ve all faced roadblocks on the way to success. One of the books that I recommend investing in is Three Feet from Gold by Sharon Lecher. It reminded me of the need to encourage my team as well as other entrepreneurs to remain on the offense and push a little harder to turn those roadblocks into something positive.

Here are four ways I’ve learned to overcome hardships:

1) Put the past behind you

Don’t forget that every day is a blessing. Leave any past negativity and failure behind you — learn from these experiences, but don’t dwell on them. Focus on moving forward — your best days are in front you.

2) Be the voice of more

Don’t let the voice of less overcome you. Continue to remind yourself: You are worth more, you deserve more and you are meant for more. Whenever you think  "I can't do this," know that you are worthy!

3) Believe in yourself

Being the voice of more leads to believing in yourself and others. I believe in my team, and as a fellow CEO, I believe in you, too. By believing in yourself and those around you, you can push through your obstacles together.

4) Fight through it

Life will knock you down, but it’s hard to beat a person that never gives up.

The movie Rudy is a great example of this. Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger was about to give up on his dream of playing football for the University of Notre Dame. If he’d stopped fighting through his many obstacles, he wouldn’t have experienced the thrill of playing in his first game, while also being carried off the field on the shoulders of his teammates. Because of his never-give up mindset, he created a legacy for himself and remains an inspiration for so many others.

The setback you face could be nothing more than the last step before taking a company from a startup to a global brand. Keep these tips in mind and never give up — you never know if you’re only three feet from achieving your dream.
