The Times of Malta reports on a police raid in Palermo which revealed that the Mafia was planning to infiltrate gaming companies in Malta, as well as the delays in the compilation of evidence against the three men charged with the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia after the magistrate recused herself from the case.

The Malta Independent leads with news from the Caruana Galizia murder trial, reporting on the magistrate's decision to recuse herself. The paper also quotes law professor Kevin Aquilina as saying he felt judge Silvio Meli was "premature" in slamming a UK law firm for advising the Caruana Galizia family that their rights were most likely being denied.

L-Orizzont also leads with news from the Caruana Galizia trial, with another front page story reporting that PL MEPs have accused their PN counterparts of going against Malta's historic policy of protecting a national veto on tax issues within the EU by voting in favour of a Pana Committee report.

In-Nazzjon leads with a front page photo of EU Council president Donald Tusk kneeling at a memorial for Daphne Caruana Galizia yesterday. Mr Tusk was in Malta to be made an honorary companion of the National Order of Merit.
