A male client decided to make his order elsewhere after the baker he wanted to use refused to call him "darling" or "sweetheart" when he asked for it.

According to the cake maker on Twitter, the man sent her a chat ordering for a cake. She replied to the chat in a formal way but he took offense and asked that she uses words of endearment for him. When she refused, he gave the cake deal to another baker.

Below are screenshots of the chat between the cake maker and her male client.

Being principled is cool BT being over principled is bad especially when u run a business.. I once called a lady client sweet names and was so nice to her and she ended up paying gud money for d property all because of my very kind and witty gestures with her. It didn't mean i was inlove her. my eye was just on d money and that's all that matters. Calling a client swithrt or darling won't kill u or make u look cheap..come on.

She isn't judging pls,in most business especially delivery services, the client order becomes valid once the vendor receives certain percentage of the agreed sum.her message was a reminder that his order isn't valid, she was rude or judgmental in any way.

Speaking from experience, you were right to have remained professional. I call a lot of people including my clients by pet names but we have to ride past just clients before I get to that but if you start asking for it, then NO!!. I once had a client who was insisting on it. Foolishly, I agreed only for this psyco in less than one week start saying that we are dating and that he's suspecting that I'm cheating on him!! One week! My people one week!! After I berated him the idiot sent me pictures and videos of his dick. I lost it!! I blocked his number immediately and reported his number on truecaller app as Spam!! We all need to be very careful. There are very crazy people out there!!

Lol. Some companies need results, you can use your discretion within the acceptable work ethics of the company which usually has nothing to do with sex! Well, if another person could deliver, as a boss what will you especially if you got s target? Maybe she could have said "darling sir"...or "honey sir", well if the guy is childish and goes overboard....na still wisdom....lol "customer is king/always right"...just saying....wisdom is profitable to direct sha

My dear listen, u were not supposed to. But at d same time u sounded too mean and serious for my liking. No atom of friendlyness in ur chat. PR is key in a every business relationship. There should have been a more friendly way to communicate that response to him.

Exactly...she sounded too harsh...what happened to "Lol...so sorry sir, but that may come off as being unprofessional"...and stuffs like that...there's always a friendly way to pass information Madam ITK.. Keep up with this and you won't go really far in your biz. Learn some, and, unlearn some. Just my opinion though.

Very dicey situation. From the conversation, the guy seems he is familiar with the lady. Professionally, the lady is right not to call him by any pet name.
