Listen: Hookworms – ‘Static Resistance’

New album 'Microshift' arrives on February 2nd...

Hookworms have shared new song 'Static Resistance' – tune in now.

The band will release new album 'Microshift' on February 2nd, and it marks a shift in dynamic from the Leeds group.

Somehow both more pop and more expansive, the material from 'Microshift' suggests lucid does of psych-pop has been added to their sound.

New song 'Static Resistance' is online now, with Hookworms explaining that it was among the first tracks written for the record.

They explain: "'Static Resistance' is the oldest track on the album, we wrote and recorded the first version of it early 2015, not very long after 'The Hum' had been released. It's one of only two pre-flood songs on the record. It’s a song about the wax and wane of depression and an eternal want to escape the life you’ve built."

Sonically delicious, 'Static Resistance' matches a penchant for crystal melody with a desire to push their sound somewhere different.

Tune in now.
