Using this for a year or so now.. Overall the idea and usefulness of expo is 5/5. Execution of product 3/5. Comments aren't wrong, tons of issues, for me worst is how horrible debug mode is, and how it screws up things even when you turn it off, to the point of needing to Uninst. And install to work again. But many connection issues ppl complain about can be easily solved with a few google searchs and making sure you are connected to same wifi router at home on devices.

Very very very buggy. Although I can't blame them ... as a developer I can only imagine how difficult it would be to make an app that compiles javascript into an app and runs it. Still, they're a company run by multiple humans, so they should have a product that's not this unforgivable buggy mess. When it works, it's amazing. Most of the time it doesn't though. Crashes a lot.

It works well, sometimes I do have to close the app and select my project again, sometimes I have to reload the app from vscode to get it to actually connect. But it works great. I was using Android studio and kotlin with jetpack compose, but a friend turned me on to react native. The promise of jetpack compose is exactly what react native and expo actually is! I was using jetpack compose for a few months and it is necessary to rebuild and it's just slow. Expo and RN is incredibly fast
