247Sports Composite ranking: McClain is a four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 185 prospect nationally, No. 13 outside linebacker and No. 22 player in Georgia.
How he fits into Auburn's plans: McClain provides Auburn with depth at linebacker, where position coach Travis Williams continues to help remold the group. While McClain will surely need to add some weight once he arrives on campus, he has the skill set Auburn likes at outside linebacker, with good lateral ability and a nose for the football.
Projection for 2018: Auburn returns three of its top four linebackers in 2018, losing only senior Tre' Williams. McClain isn't likely to immediately crack the rotation, but he should see time on special teams as a freshman.
