For Lila, Forever

Rate this book
The words “For Lila, forever” adorned the front of the envelope in blue ink, the handwriting all too familiar. But it didn’t matter what it said. I didn’t have the heart to open it.

We couldn’t be together.

Not after everything ...

Leaving Rose Crossing, Maine was one of the most painful moments of my life—or at least it was until the day I came face-to-face with Thayer Ainsworth again.

After a decade of searching, he’s found me, and he wants to know why I quit my housemaid job and left his family’s island estate without so much as a goodbye. But I’m bound by a devastating secret much bigger than the two of us, and telling him the truth has consequences.

Looking into the eyes of the only man I’ve ever loved, I tell him the only thing I’m allowed to: never contact me again. And when he’s gone, I sit down and finally open his letter.

Only it isn’t a letter at all.

And it changes everything.

One star for the writing, and one for the hunky cover.

This started out so strong and so promising with an awesome besotted hero, a strong heroine that knows her mind and a manipulative villain. Then we have the rest of the story. At the 50% mark it morphed into a Southern Gothic style manufactured angsty, stupid icky mess and a heroine that betrays her H. No, she doesn’t cheat, but her betrayal is as bad if not worse.

Rant..rant…rant…

Yes, I hated it and I am grinding my teeth, but this one's for the Angst Junkies.

Again with the past and present chapters. Spoilers maybe/be warned

I really hate that. The book would have been better with the past and the present. All at once. Just not my favorite but this book was still so awesome. The Grandfather is truly despicable in every way. He is vile. Enough said. But wow this was probably the most amazing hero ever! He loved the heroine so much and h searched for her for 10 years and would not give up. Plus he was celibate!!!! For 10 years!!! I loved this story. And the ending was so perfect. I don't want to give too much away but that man Thayer was so romantic. I cannot believe how sweet a love story this was. And the epilogue is perfect and five years later with babies!!! This is a new author to me and I am excited to see if her other books can measure up. Just a great read and made me have that Ahhhh feeling at the end.

Such a disappointment. I was really expecting so much more. The blurb had me hoping anyway. But it wasn't to be. Too much stretching beyond my boundaries for realism and believability. At times it felt old-worldly, full of out-of-date characters from bygone days. There was so much potential for something really entertaining and momentous. However, nothing really felt fully developed and I never really felt any sort of connection with any of these character. The book was more of an outline and never quite filled in the rest of the story. I felt a little cheated.

2,5 💘💘🌟s

I expected an epic love story, but for me it was just a love story. It didn’t deliver emotions and the characters were not properly developed. Some of them just had a couple of appearances and later just vanished. The storyline had some angst, heartache and misunderstandings, but it felt passionless.

Great story. Quite short.
Safe, no OP scenes, no cheating.
Not 5 stars- don't like this jumps in the book between"past"-"present"-...5 years later.
Good epilogue.
Waiting for story for hero's cousin.

This is the story of Lila and Thayer, two young adults who meet on Thayer's grandfather's island when Lila comes to live with her grandparents after the tragic loss of her mother. Lila's grandparents are the caretakers of the island homes and families. Lila and Thayer have an instant connection - Thayer moreso than Lila, as Lila understands and is warned that they come from different worlds. Thayer pursues Lila, until she reluctsantly gives in to her feelings, and they share stolen moments. Thayer returns to school after the summer, and they really have no way to stay in touch, as there is no cell service, internet service, and they can't let their families know they are together. But, they promise to wait for each other. When Thayer returns the next summer, Lila and her grandparents are gone, vanished, nowhere to be found. Thayer spends years looking for her and ten years later he finally locates her and learns the truth behind why she left. This is actually a really sweet story. And I love angst, but I've figured out that I love angst that is caused by situations and not so much by miscommunication and assumptions, which is what happens here and in so many YA/NA stories. There was also a lot of telling her and not a lot of showing. I didn't feel the connection between Lila and Thayer, nor did I understand how 10 years later things could be so easily fixed. For me, I would have liked to see more to their relationship build in the beginning and more depth to how they worked through it and came to their HEA.

I am expecting a angst feast for this book. I mean a young summer love between the grandson of billionaire and naive young maid. Romeo and Juliet that kind of love feast. And I got the love, the beautiful scenery of the tiny isolated island. The love blooms. The angst is there but not much. Lila is a likeable heroine. Young, naive, virginal and passionate loving her grandparents. She also have strict work ethic which is rare in her young age.

My problem with this book is with Thayer, the hero. He is stoic of any emotion. The author said he is optimist. But I found he is lack of passion and lack of feeling. I think the author done a poor job choosing words/ sentence to build his character. Even at the end when he finds out why Lila left her and all of the secret, his reaction is indifferent. Like it was everyday events.

Overall, I do like the book. But because of the Thayer character, I gives this book 3 stars

I didn't quite get the story... I felt zero chemistry and many things were weird.
Aka Cinderella with the role of an evil step-mom played by his grandfather.

Kudos to him for being celibate for 10 ys!
-> 2 stars with 1 extra for the above issue (or better said, non-issue *lol*)

Lila and Thayer meet as teenagers on his grandfather’s private island and he relentlessly pursues her. They must keep their relationship a secret from their families because both have voiced concerns about the two spending time together. However, Thayer returns from another semester at Yale to discover the Hilliard’s house empty and Lila nowhere to be seen. For the next decade, he desperately searches for her, only coming up with nothing. After a tragedy occurs in Lila’s life, he finally finds her again, though this is dangerous for her wellbeing.

For Lila, Forever is told in four different parts, chronicling Lila and Thayer’s early relationship, a decade later, the September when Lila left the island, and their final attempt to resolve everything. I loved the first part, mainly because you can’t fault two young people desperately falling in love over a summer, knowing it’ll probably end anyway. However, when we switched to the adult versions of these characters, I felt like everything was underdeveloped and we just raced towards the conclusion. A lot of plot points from the first half are completely ignored and other significant developments are brushed over in time jumps. For example, there’s a video Lila discovers online during their separation from her typical “girl enemy” where she hears Thayer stating he never liked Lila and was using her. This is significant at the time because she’s heartbroken and jealous. Except, it’s never brought up when they reunite and is thrown under the rug completely. Why include it then? Why go through the effort of discussing it in both of their perspectives and adding more drama to the story if you aren’t going to resolve it in the end? It doesn’t make sense.

The plot in the beginning was sweet, as one would expect a summer romance to be. It takes a serious turn throughout the second half and I wish we learnt more about the character’s lives in this time. For example, we learn Lila has a new best friend but we’re never introduced to her and she’s randomly brought up a few times. It just felt like the author was rushing us towards the dramatic conclusion and not including much development for anything else. The writing, unfortunately, takes on the tell instead of show quality, with the audience being informed of what happened at the end, instead of letting it play out organically. Especially in regards to Thayer’s relationship with MJ. It’s discussed that they talk on the phone and become close, but did we see it?

I don’t have much to discuss about the characters because they’re very cliched and formulaic to the romance genre. Thayer was a nice blend of the possessive, dotting male character while also being sweet and understanding. After reading so many books with a love interest whose only personality traits are having parental issues and being a jerk, it was refreshing to see a soft male character. Normally one would despise the female character for her actions – as I’ve seen so many reviews do – but did any of you read the book? Did you actually read the pages? Did you not acknowledge that she was manipulated by a male in a powerful position? She was literally, LEGALLY not allowed to discuss her position with anyone, but you’re going to denounce her for keeping a secret. I’m sorry, in what world do you think it’s justified for her to be homeless and broke with a grandfather who has Alzeihemers and requires professional help? I swear some people that review romance books don’t have a single sympathetic bone in the body, the way they beseech female characters for things that are justified then kneel for male characters who are literal pieces of shit.

I don’t have much to discuss about this book because it doesn’t stand out from the crowd in the romance genre. I wish I could’ve loved the entire thing like the first half and could find a new romance book to gush about. I definitely think I’ll read something from this author in the future, but I don’t think I’ll be adding them to my favourites list anytime soon.

For Lila, Forever is a sweet romance turned serious in the latter half of the story. It’s nothing revolutionary in the second chance romance prototype, but it’s entertaining and quick to read.

Thayer Ainsworth🔥🔥🔥

I totally read this in one day, and I didn’t think I had it in me to finish it but I am so glad I did.

Don’t be fooled by the blurb cause what you think you know is not what happens but what became of their summer love. It’s a story about forbidden love and why they never could be together. Families always have a villain. It’s told in each of Thayer and Lila’s POV. It’s so much that you just fall in love with these characters that you never expect to have it broken by the secrets and the lies that what becomes of Thayer and Lila.

Some might not like the PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE reads but I loved it. The story flows and I became somewhat intrigued at how persistent Thayer Ainsworth never gave up on Lila, and that ending swoooon.

This was the first book that I have read from Winter Renshaw. This book was just ok for me. I am ok with the retelling of the past as a basis of why the characters are the way they are in the present however this story spent too much time in the past and that was a turn off for me. I understand that you want to have the reader know about the characters during the time that they have been apart but having the past-present time jumps throughout the book were a little much. This could have been done in maybe a couple of chapters and it wouldn't have taken away from the story. This made it hard for me to feel like I could connect with the characters.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In spite of the warning not to get involved with Lila, Thayer couldn't help himself not to get curious about the girl he's going to spend the entire summer with even though she's just the "help". He can tell she's different from other girls he'd known.

"She's an enigma.
A puzzle I want to solve.
A code I need to crack."

The moment Lila steps on the island, she was immediately warned to keep everything professional when it comes to the owner's grandsons. Lila has been doing that, avoiding them in any possible way, but one is so persistent in talking to her -- Thayer.

"Everything about you and your entire world is perfect, Thayer. Maddeningly perfect. And as much as I try not to ... I can't help but like you too."

After that night, Thayer and Lila's secret rendezvous begun. They are always vigilant not to be caught for they know there will be consequences. Summer is coming to an end, and Thayer will go back to college while Lila will stay on the island. Will their love for each other stand the test of time?

For Lila, Forever -- Utterly captivating the moment I started reading and it only took me a day to finished (which is a feat for me). I literally could not put it down. Emotionally filled characters that made you think they are real. It was beautifully written with some twist and manipulation along the way. Truly an epic love story. Of all the books I read and enjoyed by this author, this has become one of my favorite to-date. This book is highly recommended!

The latest book from Winter Renshaw is a contemporary romance told in dual POV about a journey of a summer love to ten years later when they meet up again and all the ugly truths come out. Thayer and Lila meet on his family’s island where he holidays for the summer and she is there tending to their needs, being the granddaughter of the care takers. He was infatuated from first sight and after she learnt to trust him, they started their forbidden relationship.

I read this book in one sitting, entranced by this couple. Thayer was very attentive and had a sense of optimism that was infectiously sweet. Even though Lila was the total opposite, she had a work ethic and strong personality that I admire. I enjoyed the layout of the book with the storyline alternating from past to present. It gave the novel a sense of anticipation and it was very easy to follow. I was swept along with the build up of the rendezvous in the initial summer and how Thayer came about finding Lila again. What I did struggle with was the quickness to their reconciliation. I would have like to see them discover each other again, as people change a lot in ten years. We never did find out what Thayer’s tattoos were about, that still has me thinking. The epilogue gave me a conclusion that made sense and made me smile for all the outcomes.

This is one of those stories where it's a journey. It's a touching story about a boy and girl who have been separated for 10 years by a meddling grandfather. I'm not a fan of flashbacks and this one does alternate for long periods of time from past-present-past-present. The majority of the book is centered in the past, so the ending with the grandfather and their HEA felt a little anti-climactic. For those who might be bothered by long separations and celibacy, you're safe with this one. His devotion and determination to find her really made it for me with this book.

It was a little bit slow to build up and for a great while I thought the book was young adult....but it does go ahead 10 years.

It has a clever plot and premise. The location was awesome....an island off coast of Maine for an entire summer.

So it was entertaining. Thayer was a bit unreal....beyond book boyfriend but it helps offset the harshness of life that Lila endures, just maybe....in fictional life, eh?

This story is told in past and present. I liked that about it the book. In some ways the past of Lila and Thayer was much more interesting to me. We know from the blurb that something dramatic happens.

Thayer and Lila together are sweet, new love on a beautiful island for the summer. Things seem perfect. Flashing forward, we know everything fell apart.

I honestly loved the book until the ending. So much time was spent developing their love story. When Thayer finds Lila again, I felt like the story just stopped. I wanted him and her for that matter, to have to work for it a bit more. There were some major reveals and then it was like--oh, we will be together forever now.

Great romance in the early years. Somewhat abrupt crash ending. Over all, an ok read for me.

When Lila's mother passes and she's sent to live with her grandparents on the island where they work, she certainly never expected to meet, and fall for, Thayer, the big boss' favorite grandson. She's unsure of Thayer and his motivations at first. On the surface he seems like a kind, if preppy and gorgeous, guy. But she's known guys like that her whole life, and they rarely end up being as good as Thayer seems to be. So she's naturally wary, and closes herself off at first. It doesn't help that the big boss warned her and her grandparents that she's not to get close to his grandchildren or all their jobs are on the line. Yep, he's a real piece of work...

But, young love is nothing if not persistent, and soon they're sneaking around and falling in love like 18 and 19-year-olds tend to do. But Thayer's set to return to college in a few weeks and Lila's only future is still on this island. Can they survive the long distance and the time? And what happens when Thayer comes back home next summer and Lila and her grandparents are gone, without a word? Will Thayer spend the next 10 years looking for his soulmate or forget her as the time goes by? What of the huge secret Lila's keeping and CANNOT reveal or she'll lose everything?

I was surprised at how sweet For Lila, Forever was, at how sweet Thayer was. I'm used to Winter Renshaw's more alphahole type heroes, so for Thayer to be so darn sweet and kind was a surprise, albeit a very good surprise. I didn't connect as much with Lila, as she just wasn't as developed, or perhaps, not as likable, as Thayer, but she and Thayer made a great couple. All in all, I'd call For Lila, Forever a sweet, poignant second chance, first love kind of romance. If this is your jam, I highly recommend you download your copy today.

Book friends- For Lila, Forever has earned a 5-star glowing review from me! I knew I'd be posting a gushing review when I woke up at 4am, unable to sleep until I finished the story. If you are prone to manic book reading sessions take note! Perhaps dive into this book over a long weekend when you can supplement your sleep loss with naps? Just a suggestion. ;) Now let me detail why this book had me so excited.

The setting for this story (or at least the most pivotal moments) is an private island called Rose Crossing. The author does a fantastic job describing the gorgeous, yet desolate island for readers. The story would not be plausible without the island being crafted or introduced in a very specific manner. For example, the island is accessible by boat but only at certain times of the week and under the supervision of the island's controlling owner and/or his loyal staff. It also has extremely limited cell service, cable, internet, etc. This means that although the residents and guests of Rose Crossing are enjoying luxurious accommodations they are (for all intents and purposes) at the mercy of the island's owner...who just so happens to be an maniacal and calculating man.

ATTENTION LADIES- I'm going to introduce you to your next book boyfriend! Thayer Ainsworth is everything beautiful in this world. Even as a young child his family admires his amiable and relaxed manner. He has a soft heart that welcomes others and is slow to judge. His loyalty even in the most difficult times- is unwavering and relentless. Swoon! Lest not you worry! The outside is just as gorgeous as the inside! At one point in the story Thayer is enlikened to a Greek god. Tall, dark, and handsome....oh, and he's also set to inherit millions of dollars and a private island. Yes, please!

After reading that description I'm sure you're wondering what lucky lady could possibly be worthy of such a man... Lila Hillard arrives at Rose Crossing to work alongside her grandparents after her mother suddenly passes away. She's blonde with long legs and carries a negative outlook on life. Lila is constantly waiting for the proverbial other shoe to fall. Even though life has handed her a rough start she's a hard worker, smart, and shows moments of strength. While I will share there were missed opportunities for her to rise above her circumstances I don't want that to overshadow your reaction to the story.

I'm worried to go further into the plot and characters without giving away spoilers. Rest assured there's equal parts of cute romance, frustration and angst, anger towards the wicked, and hope for the characters to overcome all that they've lost. I loved this story and hope you do also!

Happy reading book buddies!

I really enjoyed this epic love story, reading Thayer and Lisa’s journey filled with emotional moments and heartbreaking somehow.

I had to admit that I was afraid of the drama that would follow, and I was like pleasantly surprised by the author’s directions about the outcome and also the hardships they had to face before finding their happily ever after.

When Thayer met Lila for the first time, he already felt that strong connection, impossible to ignore. Two young souls who seemed to have found each other. As much as their lifestyle and also social background were so different, Thayer wasn’t looking just on the surface but managed to find his way into Lila’s heart. Going strong and steady, sure that they would make it through.

I adored his determination, devotion and his way to see the bright side of things.

Lila was still mourning and helping her grandparents, working for Thayer’s grandfather, a wealthy family, who lived for generations on this island, under the harsh control to the latter. Trying so hard to stay away from that boy who could  be her undoing. She was honest, selfless and caring.

I appreciated seeing their live blossom with this hint of innocence, young people sharing their aspirations, hopes and fears. For a moment, they lived in their bubble of happiness when nothing couldn’t attain them. Until one day she disappeared from his life without a trace.

That’s how the epicness started. I loved how the characters were moving forward in spite of all the drama that lead to that situation. Acting for each other’s best interest, considerate, respectful. Of course, there was some angst but the main characters acted like adults, conscious of the situation. Even after all these years apart, their love was stronger now than ever before, and the author managed to write about it in a very great way.

It was incredibly romantic and passionate, heartfelt and incredibly sweet, and all the butterflies!

After the untimely death of her Mom, Lila arrives at Rose Crossing Island in Maine to spend the summer working with her grandparents who are the island caretakers. Right away she is warned to steer clear of Mr. Bertram's grandsons, Thayer and Westley and they both also receive that warning from their grandfather to leave Lila alone. It’s becomes a challenge for Lila rather quickly when Thayer, the oldest grandson takes an interest in her. The two become close quickly but have to hide their relationship from everyone, especially Howard Bertram who holds so much power and influence over his family. The two still manage to spend a magical summer together filled with laughter, young love and whispered promises.

“Nothing in my life has ever felt so right. The sunlight kisses her with its warmth. And I kiss her again. I’d live in this moment with Lila forever if I could.”

When Thayer returns to the island as soon as his school year ends he discovers Lila and her grandparents vanished. No letter and no idea why she left, Thayer is heartbroken and determined to find Lila, no matter what the cost.

“It doesn’t sound the same without her here. And it sure as hell doesn’t feel the same. I close my eyes and try to get some rest. I’ll look for Lila forever if I have to.”

This story takes us between past and present over a ten year time span. It’s filled with secrets, betrayal and an overwhelming sense of love. Thayer will never give up on finding Lila and once he finally does, she is determined to keep the secret she is bound by. But truths come to light and things aren’t always what they seem. What will happen once the real reason Lila left without so much as a goodbye comes out? I really liked Thayer and how even after all those years he never gave up on the promise he made to Lila, she was his one true love. My like for Lila kind of swayed at parts in the book. I loved how strong she was and I know she had the best intentions, sometimes it was just a little hard to see for a while. If you’re in the mood for a quick read and sweet love story, definitely check this one out.

This author creates such evocative, heartfelt stories and I’m always eager to get my hands on her latest book. Thayer Ainsworth was born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth and is the apple of his granddad, Howard Bertram's, eye. Lila Hilliard was raised by a single mom and goes to live with her grandparents after her mother's death. The blue bloods and the working class don’t socialize and certainly aren’t friends, especially since the Hilliards are employed by the Howard Bertram.

Despite warnings from his grandfather and the threat of being disinherited, Thayer can’t seem to stay away from Lila. They spend one secret, forbidden, glorious summer together with a promise to reunite the following summer, but when Thayer returns from school to the family summer home, Lila and her grandparents are gone.

The love Thayer has for Lila is the kind of love we all dream of. It’s a love that spends ten long years searching tirelessly for the other half of its soul, a love that overcomes lies, deceit and manipulation, and the kind of love that hopes, endures, waits faithfully and never gives up. The innocence and beauty of Thayer and Lila's young love is tender and touching and, through the years and miles that separate them, its flame continues to burn brightly in each of them.

This one will put you through the full array of emotions as you laugh, cry and swoon your way through the pages. Various characters will have you wanting to strangle them, swat them away like an annoying fly, or roll your eyes, but you’ll be rooting for Thayer and Lila every step of the way on their journey to forever. These two soul mates will stay in your heart long after the last page, and you don’t want to miss their phenomenal story.

Eighteen year old Lila is having a tough time. Never having known her father, she has just experienced the untimely death of her mother & is now being transported to a private island off the coast of Maine where she will join her grandparents, Junie & Ed. They work for Howard Bertram, owner of the island & its family homes, one each for his married daughters, their husbands & families.
Howard, or granddad has millions, is a crusty SOB since his wife, the love of his life, passed away many years ago. Now, from May to August, every family member does what he wants, they spend the entire summer on the island, go sailing & do what they are told or there will be consequences. And on this particular summer, the order is to not get involved with the help.
Lila's grandmother takes care of the cooking & cleaning, her grandfather, Ed sees to all the outdoor maintenance, boats & lawn care. Lila, or the new help, will spend her time helping her grandmother.
Not how she pictured her life after high school.
Thayer, nineteen & eldest of the grandsons, has finished his second year at Yale in Pre-Law. Charming, good looking but not full of himself, he is instantly drawn to Lila in spite of his grandfather's warnings. He wants to talk to her, get to know her & is determined but not aggressive. Lila snubs him at first, is polite, but has been given instructions as well to stay away from the family, keep her head down & just do her work.
Well, what kind of a story would this be if they each did what they were told?
This is a story about forbidden love, two people from different backgrounds & different outlooks on life. And slowly as Thayer & Lila get to know one another, they find there are no barriers, no significant differences because when it comes down to it, they love being together. Correction, there is one barrier & that is grandfather Bertram. Mean spirited & manipulative, he doesn't hesitate to use his money to tear people's lives apart. And boy, does he take this task to heart & do it well. I've read a few of the reviews & some say they could not connect with the characters. I did. I connected from the very first page & this continued through to the end. This isn't a fast paced book, has low angst, takes place over ten years but held my interest none the less. I really enjoyed this story & was sad to see it end. This is a stand alone with a HEA.

Ms Renshaw has written a gorgeous, sweet and heartwarming love story within the pages of For Lila, Forever. A story of forbidden first love which, despite obstacles in the way and the passage of time, manages to remain steadfast and true. Even though they only have one summer together Thayer and Lila form a bond which can’t be broken, even when they’re torn apart in the cruelest of circumstances. Their stolen hours together are charming, not over the top and have just the right amount of steamy moments, although there’s nothing hugely graphic. However, behind the smiles and family traditions not everything is as it seems. Secrets are kept and lies are told. Little do they know, but those skeletons are about to start rattling and the events of that summer will change the course of their lives forever.

The book is divided into four parts, which alternate between the past and the present. Sometimes stories which do this are confusing but in this instance this actually works really well and they are easy to follow. Each part contains several chapters, allowing the story to flow and means you’re not continually bouncing from one to the other. Thayer and Lila are easy to love and I was rooting for them to ultimately get their happy ever after. I would’ve preferred some elements of their story to be fleshed out a little more and some parts were glossed over, leaving me wondering about their outcome. Nevertheless, I would say that overall, this is a well written, sweet tale of young love, of a strong, resilient young woman and a tenacious young man. An easy, enjoyable read.

Summer Love That Was Forever

They were supposed to stay away. It was never supposed to become a summer romance that would lead to forever.

Lila arrived on the island after her mother died. She finds herself living with her grandparents and working for the wealthy Mr. Bertram. The only rule was to stay away from his grandsons.

Thayer spent every summer of his life on the island. No internet, time to unwind and disconnect from technology and bond with family. Until he sees Lila.

Thayer was warned to stay away too. However, once Thayer decided he wanted something, he was unstoppable. He wanted to get to know Lila and maybe more.

A beautiful story of forbidden love, the lengths people will go to when they have a plan and the ultimate deceit. They shared a love that was never supposed to happen. Obstacles kept them apart. But true love never dies. They never gave up hope. Soul mates always find a way.

Another great story from the author. A strong, resilient woman who did what needed to be done to survive and protect her family. A truly good man led by his heart. He went after what he wanted, but was always sweet and caring. He never compromised his morals and never gave up on her. You’ll love this story!

Ahhhh this story!! The title makes you swoon but then when you read this story and realize the meaning and setting for those words is just epic.

This is a story of star-crossed lovers, it is fresh and fabulous and I couldn't put it down until it was over.

The romance in this story is magical! The most pivotal thing that Thayer does for Lila is so huge, so over the top and it's also one of the most romantic things I have ever read.  And I read A LOT of romance novels.

The story is set up so well and even with the flash backs it flows beautifully! You need the back and forth in time to really bring this story full circle.  The story is fast paced but beautifully done.

There is angst and a huge twist and it keeps you gasping until the end.  The secrets the island holds carries on for generations.

I have yet to read a Winter Renshaw book that I absolutely haven't fallen in love with.  For Lila, Forever is another book that I love and can't wait for readers to fall in love with it too!
