Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania Shippensburg University is a public liberal-arts university located in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Shippensburg University is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). Shippensburg offers resources through their LGBTQ+ committee. They provide a safe zone program with trainings and the Silent Witness Peacekeepers Alliance, which provides a non-confrontational buffer between LGBT people and those that protest LGBT events. Swarthmore College Swarthmore College is a private liberal arts college located in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, 11 miles southwest of Philadelphia. Founded in 1864, Swarthmore was one of the earliest coeducational colleges in the United States. The Intercultural Center at Swarthmore College offers resources to gender and sexuality minority students. University of the Arts The University of the Arts, also known as UArts, is a university of visual and performing arts based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Its campus makes up part of the Avenue of the Arts in Center City, Philadelphia. LGBTQ+ @UArts provides information, resources, and support to members of the UArts community. Widener University Widener University is a private, coeducational university located in Chester, Pennsylvania. Its main campus sits on 108 acres, just 14 miles southwest of Philadelphia. Through the Office Multicultural Affairs, gender and sexuality minority students have opportunities to join the Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA), LGBT Grad Style, a graduate student organization, or Widener OUTLaws, a gay-straight alliance group that serves students from the Delaware Law School. Gender and sexuality minority students attend these programs while at Widener University: Safe Space Ally Program, “We’re All Widener!” a campaign to address the complexity of diversity at the university, and the It Gets Better Project which aims to prevent suicide among LGBT youth. COLAGE COLAGE, Children of Lesbian and Gay Everywhere, is an organization created in 1990 by the children of several lesbian and gay male couples who felt a need for support. COLAGE is run and operated by people of all ages who have a LGBTQ parent or parents. Trans Student Educational Resources (TSER) Trans Student Educational Resources is a youth-led organization dedicated to transforming the educational environment for trans and gender nonconforming students through advocacy and empowerment. The Safe Zone Project The Safe Zone Project is a free-online resource for those doing LGBTQ-awareness and inclusion educational work. LEAGUE Foundation LGBT Scholarship The LEAGUE Foundation provides financial resources for America’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender high school seniors entering their first year of institutions of higher learning. The scholarship application opens annually in January and closes in April with awards distributed in the summer of each year. Currently the LEAGUE Foundation has 3 awards for consideration and each student application is automatically reviewed for each. Jonathan Lax Scholarship Fund for Gay Men The Lax Scholarship Fund, as part of Bread & Roses Community Fund, was established by the late entrepreneur and inventor Jonathan R. Lax to encouraging gay men to obtain additional education; aspiring to positions in which they contribute to society; being out about their sexual orientation; and acting as role models for other gay men with similar potential. Tuition scholarships are awarded in amounts $5,000 and $10,000 to men who live in the five-county Philadelphia region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties) and Camden County, who are attending accredited colleges, graduate, or professional schools anywhere, or to men attending such schools within the Philadelphia region. The Rainbow Scholarship The Rainbow Scholarship, through the Rainbow Special Interest Group, awards deserving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) students who aim to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs. To be considered for the Rainbow Scholarship, applicants must self-identify on the Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) scholarship application.

Founded in 1952, ONE Archives currently houses over two million archival items including periodicals, books, film, video and audio recordings, photographs, artworks, organizational records, and personal papers. The Widener University Sexuality Archives The Widener University Sexuality Archives was a happy accident. In 2007 Molly Wolf received a donation of sexuality related materials from Drs. William and Judith Seifer. Among the books and videos that would be added to the Wolfgram Library's regular Circulating collection were other items, such as, personal papers and pamphlets, that were outside of the scope of the Library's collection development policy but that were too interesting to discard. Molly Wolf held on to these items until they began to take over her office. As she surveyed the growing collection of materials, Molly realized that she had an archive of sexuality related materials... and the Widener University Sexuality Archive was born.

Allyship: The action of working to end oppression through support of, and as an advocate with and for, a group other than one’s own.
Asexual: A sexual orientation generally characterized by not feeling sexual attraction or a desire for partnered sexuality. Asexuality is distinct from celibacy, which is the deliberate abstention from sexual activity.
Bisexual: A person whose primary sexual and affectional orientation is toward people of the same and other genders, or towards people regardless of their gender.
LGBTQIA: an inclusive acronym that includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual
Lesbian: A woman whose primary sexual and affectional orientation is toward people of the same gender.
Gay: A sexual and affectional orientation toward people of the same gender
Transgender: Adjective used most often as an umbrella term, and frequently abbreviated to “trans.” This adjective describes a wide range of identities and experiences of people whose gender identity and/or expression differs from conventional expectations based on their assigned sex at birth.
Intersectionality: describes the way that multiple systems of oppression interact in the lives of those with multiple marginalized identities
Intersex: adjective used to describe the experience of a person who developed primary or secondary sex characteristics that do not fit neatly into society's definitions of male or female. Intersex is an umbrella term and there are around 20 variations of intersex that are included in this umbrella term
Sexual Orientation: Sexual Orientation is an enduring emotional, romantic, sexual, or affectional attraction or non-attraction to other people. Sexual orientation can be fluid and people use a variety of labels to describe their sexual orientation.
Gender Identity: A sense of one’s self as trans, genderqueer, woman, man, or some other identity, which may or may not correspond with the sex and gender one is assigned at birth.
Gender Expression: How one expresses oneself, in terms of dress and/or behaviors. Individuals may embody their gender in a multitude of ways and have terms beyond these to name their gender expression(s)
Queer: sexual orientation or gender identity that falls outside the heterosexual mainstream or the gender binary
