Titans Sign P Brett Kern To Four-Year, $12.55M Extension

The Tennessee Titans announced Thursday that they’ve agreed to a multi-year contract extension with P Brett Kern.

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Kern receives a four-year extension worth $12.55 million with a $2.2 million signing bonus.

“I am blessed to be able to make it through that many coaches, and to be in one city for a long time,” Kern said at the Pro Bowl. “I never take it for granted. Being cut from Denver, it was not a great feeling and I know it can happen at any time if you are not performing.

“I am just grateful for every opportunity I get to play, and to be a Titan.”

Kern, 29, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent back in 2008. He lasted just over a year in Denver before being claimed off of waivers by the Titans.

Kern has gone on to play the past 10 seasons for the Titans.

In 2018, Kern appeared in all 16 games for Tennessee and totaled 3,483 punt yards on 74 attempts (47.1 YPC) with 39 downed inside the 20-yard line.
