Bianca John, 25, was left devastated after seeing a message flash on her husband Adam's phone which read 'hey babe, what are you up to today?'
MOST wives would only feel relief if their husband woke up from intensive care – but for Bianca John, it was bittersweet.
Bianca, 25, had only been married for 18 months when her 34-year-old husband Adam Ledner passed out and was rushed to hospital.
But while she refused to leave his bedside, a message that flashed on Adam’s phone revealed the heartbreaking truth.
It read: “Hey babe, what are you up to today?”
Heart racing, Bianca scrolled through his other messages to discover an affair that had been going on for five months.
When Adam came round three days later, he was a single man.
Mum-of-one Bianca, from Pontypool, Monmouthshire, says: “I went from being terrified of losing my husband to furious that the man I loved had been sleeping with another woman behind my back.
“When he woke up to an empty room and called me, I told him I knew everything.
“I was never going to take him back.”
The pair met on dating app Tinder in September 2014. Bianca says: “I instantly fancied him and when we met up for a drink I loved his cheeky personality.
“Annoyingly, I was about to leave Wales to go travelling. But we stayed in touch the whole time and a few months later he surprised me by flying out to join me.”
In November 2015, Adam proposed in Thailand.
Bianca says: “I said yes straight away. It just felt perfect.
“A month later, we found out I was pregnant. We flew home for Christmas and excitedly told our families the news and we soon moved in together.”
In March 2016 Bianca saw an advert for TV show Don’t Tell The Bride and, as money was tight, she applied.
She says: “Just a few hours later they phoned and said they’d like us to appear on the show.
“I couldn’t believe it. They wanted to film it the following month, meaning Adam had just three weeks to organise our wedding.”
Adam blew the £14,000 budget on chartering a plane to fly over Bristol so the couple could wed in the air. Bianca was not impressed.
She says: “He bought me a tacky £140 dress. It was a far cry from the glamorous ceremony I’d hoped for, but with a baby on the way, I let him off.”
Son Brock, now two, was born in June 2016. But nine months later, in March 2017, Adam became distant.
Bianca says: “He became strangely protective over his phone. I just assumed everything would return to normal after a fitness competition he’d signed up for in September.
“But a few weeks after the event, Adam phoned to say he felt really ill. I called 999 and sped home.
“Adam was rushed to intensive care and I was left in the waiting room in complete shock.”
Hours passed and Bianca refused to leave his side. But as she sat in tears, the message flashed up.
She says: “I was confused. Who the hell was texting my husband calling him babe?
“Curiosity got the better of me and as I scrolled through the rest of Adam’s messages I found conversations of him bragging to his mates about having sex with another woman multiple times.
“My world collapsed. In a fit of rage I messaged the other woman from Adam’s phone.
“I told her he was in hospital and that I knew all about her and him.
“The next day I went home, threw all his things in his car and dropped his keys off with nurses. I made sure they phoned me every few hours to give me an update on his situation.
“Adam was in hospital for three days before he woke up to find I wasn’t there. The next day he was released from hospital and knocked on my door, asking if he could stay.
“I said no. He didn’t show any remorse, he just looked sorry for himself that he’d been found out.”
A week later the pair met up and Adam admitted he’d been having an affair for five months.
Bianca says: “I was devastated. Adam took the phrase Don’t Tell The Bride to a whole new level. I’m just glad I’m rid of that rat.”
Adam said: “The competition made me unwell and there’s a lot of pressure, that’s how all this came about. Bianca’s always been jokey with me, but during that time I was taking everything she said literally.
“So I had Bianca saying things like, ‘You could do with going to the gym a bit more’, and this other girl was telling me I was God’s gift.
“I haven’t seen that girl since August. I’d seen her three times and it was all going to be done with after the competition.
“I nearly died and basically then my world ended. I really do regret it but I needed it at the time. I lost it all and I massively regret it now.”
