FAIRBANKS, Alaska – On Friday, the Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics announced their partnership with KSUA 91.5 to broadcast all Alaska Nanooks hockey games for the 2018-19 season.

In an agreement between the UAF Athletics Department and KSUA, the Alaska Nanooks hockey team will have all of their contests throughout the 2018-19 season (home and away) broadcasted live on KSUA 91.5 and over the station's livestream on the internet at ksuaradio.com/stream/.

Bruce Cech, who enters his 31st season as the voice of the Nanooks, will return as the play-by-play commentator for Alaska. Cech will travel with the team this season, providing on-air talent for the radio broadcast and KSUA's livestream over the internet. When the Nooks are at home, Cech's commentary will be picked up for the official webstreaming of the game on FloHockey.tv, while also being produced on the radio and the station's livestream.

KSUA, UAF's student-ran college radio station, previously broadcasted the Alaska Nanooks hockey games until New Northwest Broadcasters took over the radio agreement prior to the 2011-12 season.

"We'd like to thank Tara Chrisman and her entire staff at KSUA for their hard work on taking over the radio broadcast for the upcoming hockey season," Alaska Nanooks Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Nona Letuligasenoa said on Friday. "We know that they, along with Bruce, will do a fantastic job providing a quality product that will highlight our hockey program to the best of their ability. We look forward to all the positive impact this partnership will create with our fans, alumni, boosters and our campus community."

The Alaska Nanooks hockey team will host their annual Blue vs. Gold game on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Patty Ice Arena at 7pm AKT. Following Blue vs. Gold, the Nooks will take on the Simon Fraser Clan in exhibition action on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Carlson Center at 7:07pm AKT.
