Patty McKenna was elected to the LA Opera board of directors at a meeting held today. Ms. McKenna is currently a portfolio manager and principal with Hotchkis and Wiley, a $30 billion institutional money management firm. She has 31 years of industry experience and is an equity owner of the firm. She joined Hotchkis and Wiley in 1995 and became a Principal in 2001. Prior to joining the firm, she was an equity analyst at Trust Company of the West. A CFA charterholder, she received her BA in Economics with distinction from Stanford University in 1983 and her MBA from Harvard Business School in 1988.

She is a member of the board of trustees of the Ahmanson Foundation and a member of the board of directors of the Dan Murphy Foundation. She serves on the investment committees for both foundations. She joined the board of directors of Loyola High School in 2009 and currently chairs the Educational Resources Committee. She also recently joined the advisory board for SIEPR, the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research.

"LA Opera is fortunate to have a leader of Patty McKenna's distinction join our board of directors," said Marc Stern, chairman of the LA Opera board. "Her demonstrated commitment and philanthropic support for the arts and education will be of enormous value to the company, and I look forward to working closely with her in the seasons to come."
