West Ham United and Southampton are amongst the Premier League sides keen on Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.
Dembele has been a sensation during his time at Parkhead, and it appears that a host of clubs are ready to offer him the chance to return to England less than two years after he left Fulham for the Scottish Premiership.
It had appeared that Brighton may have been leading the charge for the Frenchman, with the Independent reporting over Christmas that Celtic had to deny that they had accepted an £18 million bid for their striker from the Seagulls.
And that should perhaps tempt the likes of West Ham and Southampton to step up their interest as soon as possible in the hope that Brighton’s apparent hesitancy costs them.
Based on what he has shown in Scotland, Dembele would be an excellent addition for either the Irons or the Saints with both in precarious positions in the Premier League table and arguably needing to bolster their goalscoring options this month to do their best to ensure that they will not fall any further down and into the bottom three.
Dembele clearly has an eye for goal, and has the time to get significantly better, especially if he is coming up against better players in the near future.
Over Christmas, West Ham and Southampton would have been forgiven for thinking that Brighton were going to be the ones to bring Dembele to the Premier League, but with their rivals dawdling somewhat, the Hammers and Mauricio Pellegrino’s men should try and take advantage of the opening.
