A HUGE fire in Glasgow that caused hundreds of thousands of pounds of damage on a new housing estate was started deliberately, say cops.
The alarm was raised at around 7.25pm on last night at Wallacewell Quadrant in Balornock.
More than 30 firefighters tackled the flames as nine fire trucks were deployed.
Following a joint investigation between cops and the fire service, the blaze is being treated as wilful.
It is understood that the damage caused amounts to hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Fire officials say there were no casualties.
Detective Constable Gillian Paddon from Shettleston CID said: "Extensive damage has been caused to the site where new homes were being built for the area and it is absolutely imperative that we trace whoever is responsible for this reckless and dangerous crime.
"I would appeal to anyone who noticed any person or people acting suspiciously in the area of Wallacewell Quadrant yesterday evening to please come forward.
