Family members of a missing Montana man who was living and working in Williston say they are hoping to travel to North Dakota to recruit volunteers to help with a search.
Clarence Issiah Jay McNabb was reported missing this week, according to police.
McNabb, 22, called home on Saturday night, and hasn’t been heard from since, his mother, Ruby Young Running Crane said.
He told his mother that he was tired, and but thought he might get called into work. Young Running Crane said she fell asleep for a short time after talking to her son, but woke up worried.
She called McNabb back at least twice, but there was no answer.
“That feeling I had that night, it was right,” she said. “Something wasn’t right, I should have just kept calling and calling and calling.”
McNabb’s father, brother and a sister are making plans to come to Williston to look for McNabb, Young Running Crane said.
An investigation by Williston police is focused on tracking McNabb’s movements over the weekend and speaking to acquaintances.
“We’re reaching out to all the people who have had communication with him, to see what we can come up with,” Detective Danielle Hendricks of the Williston Police Department said.
McNabb, a native of Browning, Montana, found work in the oil industry shortly after moving to Williston about two months ago, his family said.
He was hoping to make enough money to buy Christmas presents for his two young children, and to eventually buy his own tractor-trailer.
He made it a habit it keep in touch with his family every day, his mother said.
“Even if he’s at work, he’s always messaging us or checking on us,” she said. “We just want our son home, we want him found, and we want him found safe and unharmed.”
McNabb is 6’2” tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark jeans and a brown jacket with “Indian Relay Champion” on the back.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Williston police at 701-577-1212 or Gary and Ruby Young Running Crane at 406-338-5750.
