Nobody's Prince Charming

Rate this book
Fire and ice. Oil and water. Vodka and decisions. That’s what Darren McCoy and Wren Davison two opposites that shouldn’t mix well. Dare believes in fairy tales, true love, and happily ever after. Wren believes in fast cars, freedom, and no-strings sex. What can these two men possibly have in common? A magnetic pull strong enough to obliterate logic and reason. For more than a year, Dare and Wren have worked together at the Curl Up and Dye Salon. Dare has pursued the mysterious, brooding man, and Wren has resisted his provocative charm. Then one day, something happens that allows the men to see each other in a new light. Wren learns that Dare hides a heavy heart behind his brilliant smile. Dare realizes that beneath Wren’s gruff exterior beats the heart of a prince. Passions ignite once the men stop fighting their attraction, but will it be enough to overcome their differences? Is Wren the prince that Dare is looking for? Can Dare teach Wren that true love does exist? Nobody’s Prince charming is a modern-day fairy tale where some princes ride Harleys, and castle walls are built to scale. It is the third book in the Road to Blissville series but can be read as a standalone book. This book contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults eighteen and over.

I'm a wife and mother of three teenage kids. I've been married to the same wonderful man for twenty years. I've decided that if I can survive raising three kids then I can survive anything!! I haven't uttered the Mama's curse yet, but it could happen any day now. You know the one..."I hope you have a child just like you someday."

I'm an avid reader and lover of all things romance. I've spent my entire adult life waiting to follow my dreams of becoming a writer. One day this past summer, I decided to just do it. No more wishing and hoping. I haven't quit my day job, but that is my ultimate goal...make a living telling stories of love.

I write contemporary gay fiction. I hope you will love reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them.

Super smutty pornalicious fairy tale-ish goodness!

Take a rainbow and unicorn guy falling for a bad-boy, throw in a funny grandpa, and it was porny-tale magic! This book had me laughing a few times and almost clutching my pearls at others.

Yes... make me clutch them some more!

It’s been a hot minute since I last picked up an Aimee Nicole Walker book and it turns out I’ve missed her style of storytelling—and her broody, possessive, and damn sexy characters—quite a bit!

It’s easy to say that Darren (Dare) and Wren are definitely my favourite couple (to date) from the Road to Blissville series ( which, for those playing at home, is a spin-off series of the Curl Up & Dye Mystery series).

I adored Dare and his sweet and positive soul, striving to be the best at what he hopes to turn into a career (interior design), all while working reception at Curl Up and Dye and looking after his ailing grandfather, living with together to keep his favourite and dearest relative out of a retirement home.

Wren is on the more serious, broody side of life. He suffered great loss as a teenager when his mother died, and he’s never quite dealt with his grief and his very complicated relationship to his estranged rock star father. But he enjoys his job working at the saloon and as much as he tries to keep his distance from sunshiney co-worker Dare, each interaction keeps building their attraction to boiling point and sooner or later somethings gotta give.

I liked the opposites attract dynamic Dare and Wren had. But despite their differences, they found common ground in the fact that they were both dealing with heavy emotional burdens and just trying to put one foot in front of the other each day. In their commonality, they found connection—which just cemented how good a fit they were together when mixed in with the fact their sexual chemistry was off the charts.

I appreciated the progression of their relationship and how there was no third act breakup. They had some minor “should we be doing this, when we have so much else going on” moments to contend with, but for the most-part, once they acknowledged the depths of their mutual feelings, any angst or story drama came from external sources (like Wren’s rocky relationship with his dad, or Dare’s grandpa’s health problems). And LORD do I appreciate when the conflict in a romance story comes from external sources—turns out that’s my favourite kind of angst, as long as the couple themselves are healthily communicating and growing in their relationship.

Once again, it was a real pleasure to be back in Blissville, seeing a lot of familiar faces and meeting a couple of new ones—all of whom have their own stories in the series to come. It’s a sexy-sweet little MM book universe and I always come away with a smile on my face and a feeling of time well spent.

I’ll definitely be back for book four, as long as my memory doesn’t fail me and I remember not to leave it so long between Walker reads in the future!

Loved this one lots, probably my favourite in the Road to Blissville series because Dare and Wren were not only stupidly hot together but also very funny and sweet.

Dare is such a sweetheart, taking care of his grandpa so he didn't have to go into a care facility and crushing on Wren and winding him up at every opportunity.
Wren was the big silent type, until the moment when he realised he didn't actually want to resist Dare any more, then he turned into a bit of a softy.

There's the usually toing and froing as each man worries he's not the right one and wonders how the other one feels but there's also some really beautiful moments with just the two of them, supporting each other and slowly falling in love.

I wasn't as sure the secondary plot worked quite as well though, as it seemed to come out of nowhere and then get resolved pretty quickly too but I did like that there was honest conversation about the situation rather than just brooding and a fast resolution.

This one is also seriously smoking hot, involving vibrating butt plugs, cock rings and one of the hottest edging scenes I've read in a long while which happened across a yard!

Looking forward to seeing where this one goes next as there's quite a few potential partnerships on the go and a couple of new ones introduced!

I liked the book, but I didn't especially love the character of Darren. He seemed too snippy and at times simply overbearing. Wren, on the other hand, saved the story and was a delightfully, wonderful character. I believe that the "voice" that Joel Leslie gave Darren was about 75% of the problem...not that he did a bad job, Darren was just a character that grated on the nerves. I believe that we would have given him the same voice in our reader heads as Joel did on the audiobook. These two resolved into a relationship pretty quick...but they had been dancing around each other through three books. They were two very different, very feisty men, and Aimee Nicole Walker’s supplied them with her trademark, snarky banter. Finally seeing them come together was exceptionally satisfying. We get to see more of each man’s individual lives in this story. You can't help but love Darren's grandpa. It was really good that as it rounded out the characters and made them into "believable people" and not just mere words on a page. This book in particular, is a good one, perhaps one of the best of the series as far as I am concerned.

Whew, finally a winner.

I just re-read my reviews of the first two books in the Road to Blissville Series and realized I was supposed to give up on this spin-off. 2★'s for book one and book two isn't the best record to keep going, you know?

I'm glad I gave it one more go. I liked this one.

Nothing terrible happened. There was no unnecessary drama and when there could have been, thankfully, it just didn't go there. We weren't subject to a complete retelling of what happened in the other books and it was just a very nice romance.

It was easy.

It was hot.

And no matter what, it was seriously romantic.

It had a nice set up for future books too, hopefully they continue in this manor.

What do they say? The third time is the charm (heehee)? In this case it is true.

“Not all saviors ride horses. Sometimes they ride on Harley motorcycles or drive pickup trucks,”

Nobody's Prince Charming is exactly the type of book you need to read every once it a while. There was no OTT drama and little to no angst. Just a feel good book that will leave you smiling.

Dare and Wren were super complete opposites but super cute together. Their chemistry was hot and the time spent between the sheets were even hotter. Holy Jesus Christ. Definitely not a book anyone should read in public. And I loved Grandpa. He was amazing.

I’d give anything to turn the clock back to simpler times when Grandpa was vibrant and healthy, and I was oblivious to the fact that our time with the people we loved was limited.

Out of all the books I've read in this series, this one might be my favorite. I'm excited to see what Aimee has for us in the future for this series and completely new books. There's a few characters in the book that I could see getting their own book and I hope she writes them!

Fabulous Joel Leslie performance!!

The book? Well, aside from there being no conflict, I liked it. Liked the banter, liked the HOT sexy times, liked the writing.

But where the hell was the conflict? I kept waiting for something to turn sour around 75%—you know the place. Right after things are good things have to get bad before the HEA. That’s the romance plot line. But...no bad. All good. No climax. Aside from the sex.

This is my first Aimee Nicole Walker book I finished and I enjoyed it more than I thought. Too bad nothing really happened aside from two guys getting together and falling in love.

My rec? It’s fun listening to Joel banter about—so mindless audiobook...go for it.

*** A year earlier, Curl Up and Dye got two new stylists.***
Wren, mystery man, gorgeous long haired hunk, and Darrin/Dare. Dare has shamelessly thrown himself, and flirted with Wren ever since. Wren...

Dare has moved in with his beloved Grandpa to take care of him, and works two jobs to get that done. Wren finds that big-hearted step extremely attractive.
They make a deal, and Wren is going to rent the apartment over the garage, so Dare only has to work at the salon.

Loved these characters. So snarky, sassy, funny, and lovable. We want to know more about them, and we get our wish. Every tale brings them closer together and the sexy times begin. I also thought it refreshing, that Wren admits to himself that he loves Dare, and goes with it, not fighting it.
A wonderful story and romance with touching scenes. Wren's long gone father, a rock star, shows up, and Grandpa has a fall. We get deep inner thoughts, and life stories, in addition to a step up in the divine, dirty talking, sexy interludes, including a vibrating butt plug. Plus, big, passionate, emotional kisses and intense lovemaking.

A love these Blissville romances. It's a great continuation of the happiness found in this town.
Highly recommended. ENJOY !

My first from this author, and even though it isn't the first in The Road to Blissvill series, I was easily able to follow along. This book was a smooth easy read, with not a lot of drama, but still plenty of plot to keep me wanting to read more.

Dare and Wren, were from the beginning, two that are so incredibly opposite, you wouldn't really seem to put them together. With a little urging from Josh, the salon owner where Dare works, Dare decided maybe this fairy tale could be worth it and didn't give up. The saying opposites attract worked extremely well here. Their chemistry was off the charts. And when the two were together, a glass of ice water isn't enough to fan your flames!! Ms. Walker might be newer to me, but I'm very excited to go back in the series and read more by her!!

Oh so disappointed that my review disappeared!!
In a summary- Wren & Dare were beautiful together. I love this series, the characters, the friendships and the humor. Wren tried so hard to avoid the sassy / steamy Dare and spent a year ignoring his flirting, truly believing Dare would be better off without him. Dare showed persistence and took Josh’s advice to tread carefully but not to give up. I loved the loyalty to family and enjoyed the pace of this book. Great series ❤️

What could I say? It's a Disney tale. A mother taken by sickness. King Charming trying to develop a semblance of a relationship, with his young Prince. A commoner put aside his design dreams. In order to care for an ailing Grandfather. . All in the land of Bliss!

Sigh.... I adored this one!
I swear they just keep getting better! I fell so in love with Dare and Wren and their fairytale!

Dare was working two jobs to take care of his ailing grandpa. He didn't want him to have to go to a nursing home, so he took on the role of his caregiver and he loved it, because he loved his grandpa so much. I loved their relationship and the way Dare put his grandpa first.. you coudn't help but to love them both.

Wren worked at Curl up and Dye with Dare .... he was the mysterious broody type that had a chip on his shoulder. Well, with everyone except Dare, though he was caught in his head for a while and not thinking he was good enough for Dare. He didn't open himself up to anyone, no matter how badly Dare wanted in, and no matter how badly he wanted to let Dare in... Fortunately for both of them, Dare didn't give up

I was pleased to see that there wasn't the usual back and forth that I'm used to from this author. Usually, I'm ready to break something in the way these hot guys push and pull with their feelings, but I was so happy that Wren and Dare didn't. Once Wren let himself have feelings for Darren, there was no stopping the love they had for each other.

I don't want to gush and give EVERYTHING away, but if you love hot alpha guys with loads of baggage and cute little guys who believe in Prince Charming and everything that he stands for... the growth of families and weddings and babies, and an ornery ol' grandpa that cheats at cards....then you'll adore this one as much as I did. I can't wait to see who's next!

5 well deserved, happily ever after stars from me!

Wren + Dare

3.5 stars
I agree with the general consensus that this book is the best in series, so far.

Wren and Dare have had tension building among them for over a year. Dare, never one to shy away from it, was always upfront about how he felt. Wren on the other hand, constantly sent Dare mixed signals. The two finally give into their urges and a relationship forms. Initially it was suppose to be a sexual relationship with no strings but Dare managed to sneak his way into Wren's heart.

This book was sweet with no real melodrama. Wren kept his heart shielded in fear of getting it broken and Dare wore his heart on his sleeve. Needless to say they were opposites but you know what they say about that.

Positives:
-The chemistry was fire.
-The relationship with Dare and his grandfather was heartwarming and beautiful.
-Wren finally breaking down and opening up about his feelings.
-The love shared between the two men.

Negatives:
-The bit of drama with Wren and his father. It would have been nice to have seen their dinner on page. We just get the aftermath of it. Plus, like a fellow reviewer mentioned, it was resolved rather quickly and easily, especially for someone(Wren) who was angry for years.
-Wren's initial reason for staying away from Dare. Glad he dropped the whole "woe is me" act and allowed the relationship to form.
-The epilogue. Honestly, it felt super rushed.

Overall it was enjoyable.

Nobody’s Prince Charming

**Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure in hopes of an unbiased opinion, a review was not a requirement.**

Nobody’s Prince Charming is Book 3 in Aimee Nicole Walker’s Road to Blissville series. Unlike many of Aimee’s series, this book can be read as a standalone. It does have characters from her Curl Up and Dye series (one of my favorites), of course, since both Wren and Dare work at Curl Up and Dye.

Wren and Dare came from two completely different lives. Dare was honest and upfront about wanting love, happily ever and family. For Dare, life was about family. He had a close relationship with his parents and sister and he lived with his grandpa who he worked two jobs to take care of. When it came to his grandpa, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do, but keeping him at home was hard on Dare. Wren was raised differently and after losing his mom, he didn’t appear to have any family. He’d been hurt in the past, had no trust and wouldn’t trust anyone with his love. But, he’s attracted to Dare and when he figures out a way he can help ease Dare’s struggle, he jumps at the chance, because he can’t resist. Resisting Dare when they worked together was one thing, but he wasn’t prepared for living in close proximity and learning more about him. Wren had no chance!

What I love about all of this author’s work is the fun, humor and love in all her stories and this book certainly has it. I found myself laughing out loud at the dialogue between Wren and Dare! Dare was an easy character to love but once I learned Wren’s history, I loved him just as much. These two characters together had so much chemistry, you could feel it when reading. I was surprised by how easily this relationship happened, that was unexpected. I tend to get annoyed when it takes most of the book to get the reticent character on board with a relationship, so it was a happy surprise that Wren gave in to what he actually wanted. I think the easy way he gave in to this relationship, and the willingness to finally listen and work through issues with his dad, showed the true nature of Wren and how much he really wanted a family.

This was a sweet, hot book and another great addition to the series! I’d definitely recommend checking out this book, series, all of this author’s work! She writes sweet, sappy, snarky, fun stories of men finding love and happily ever afters. ← Just the type of books I love to read!

Joel Leslie did a great job like always, but I think the characters weren’t developed enough for me to love it.
That could be due to me not reading the rest of the Curl Up and Dye series and the first two books of this Blissville series.

But overall it was entertaining but kinda forgettable…

The Road to Blissville series is a spinoff from Walker’s Curl Up and Dye series, and Nobody’s Prince Charming brings together two crossover characters who we have all grown to love from Curl Up and Dye. Dare and Wren have been dancing around each other for awhile now. I would say this is a slow-burn novel for that fact, except that all that action took place in other books so I appreciated the fact that these two resolved into a relationship pretty quick in their own story. These are two very different but very feisty men, and this novel is full of Walker’s trademark snarky banter. The chemistry between these two has been obvious from the first and having them come together finally was exceptionally satisfying.
“This has been building up slowly like an amazing orgasm since the first time we locked eyes on one another. Falling in love with you was the ultimate delayed gratification.” – Dare

Dare has been holding down two jobs. It’s running him ragged but if it means that his Grandpa can continue to live with him and not in a nursing home, then everything’s good. His main job at Curl Up and Dye, working as the receptionist, is supplemented by his job at the furniture store, working in his chosen field of design. It’s not optimal right now, but it pays the bills and keeps his grandfather in medications, so that’s all that matters. Dare is a dreamer and a designer, a little feisty and a whole lot romantic. He tends to turn everything in his mind into a fairytale. He’s waiting for his handsome prince to sweep him off his feet and slay all his dragons. Dare is a sweetheart and the poster child for a quintessential, really good guy.

Wren hasn’t had it so easy in life. He’s spent years crafting his untouchable persona. He’s secretly watched Dare for a year now, and even had some one-off steamy encounters in the mixing room at work. But Wren can’t let himself feel for anyone; he feels he has too much baggage and his family aren’t exactly the norm. He’s got an unusual past, and it completely explains why he is the way he is with people. But when he finds out Dare is working two jobs to support his grandfather, he finds himself saying he will rent the apartment over Dare’s garage to try and help Dare out financially. Resisting the pull Dare has becomes too hard to do, and Wren finally gives in and accepts that what he feels for Dare isn’t going away—and he can’t make it go away.
“I went to bed. Instead of taking a shower, I climbed between my sheets still smelling like Dare. I was just as obsessed with his smell as he was mine. Dare smelled like sunshine, hope, and happiness. I wanted—scratch that—I needed it in my life.” – Wren

We get to see more of each man’s individual lives in this story, really delve deep and meet the characters behind the names in earlier stories. I loved that; it rounds out Walker’s characters and make them into believable people not just words on a page. Can it get hokey? Yes. Can it get campy? Yes, but does it make you smile and laugh and leave you in a happy frame of mind? YES! This story paces well and is just a very enjoyable read. The angst mostly has all happened in the past, and the characters are committed to moving forward. It reads as the fairytale Dare would like for it to.
“You and your fairy tales,” I muttered under my breath.

“We all want the fairy tale, Wren. The difference is in the type of fairy tale and the outcome. No two people’s happily ever after is the same. And that’s how it should be.”

This was said to me in a deadpan, serious voice like you’d expect someone to use while discussing the history of the world. My guy took his fairy tales and happily ever after very serious, but I already knew that. “Tell me more,” I told him. – Wren

Yes, I recommend this book. I have enjoyed all the Road to Blissville stories and will read every one when they come out. This book is marked as a standalone, and it is. You can pick it right up and read it without having read any of the preceding books, but dive into Walker’s Blissville series. It’s a great, well written series of books, and her characters are well-defined and make you love them. They aren’t heavy, for the most part, just good, romantic reads that leave a smile on your face. This book in particular is a good one, one of the best as far as I am concerned.

This is definitely the best of the Road to Blissville series. . 💃🏻Darren/Dare and Wren are clearly quite the contrast as far as their nature is concerned. Dare is a happy, amiable and slightly dreamy young man who loves his Grandfather and lives with him to take care of him. Despite the extra expense of care for his Grandpa, he keeps a positive face and attitude. Wren, on the other hand is very reserved and keeps to himself. They both work at Curl Up and Dye salon, and Dare has a fairly obvious attraction towards Wren, which although reciprocated is not something Wren wants to engage in. The walls that he has built around himself, hide some deep insecurities and guilt. That is why he feels that Dare would be better off without him. The story is about how despite all odds and emotions, both Dare and Wren find their Happily Ever After . 😍
What I liked : There was no repetition of how they met and what happened in the last year. That was one of the major issues I had with 1 & 2 of the Blissville series, they rehashed the story from the MCs POV. Here, I'm glad we skipped that. The story was fresh from the very beginning.
The love between Dare and his grandfather felt genuine and very relatable. 🤗
What I disliked : This was more like a let down actually; I felt that for the level of reticence and negativity that Wren had, the angst level should have been greater. Also, it was resolved fairly easily which seemed too convenient and rushed. 😕
What I'm curious about :

Really enjoyed this one, so happy to get Dare and Wren's story! We first met them in the Curl up and Dye series, and I think that of the 3 in the spin-off series I have read so far, this one is my favorite. It stands very well on its own and, unlike the previous 2 books, it's pretty much all "new" story - we don't have the huge chunks of summarizing and revisiting that the first two had.

Dare and Wren had great chemistry, great banter, and just some minor angst as they worked through things. I loved that they started together and just kinda fell into the relationship - they were in love, and they just *were*, and they were happy together and had a great family. I loved Dare's Grandpa, and I'm glad that both of these men got their true HEA. The end was so sweet!

Cover: Not a fan of this cover. I liked her others better. I think it's the black or maybe just me ;)

Okay, so this book was just kind of there. Kind of like a low blah.... but not a bad blah because it wasn't bad. It was just kind of there. lol. It took me awhile to get into it. I bought it when it released, tried reading, lost my attention then decided to go back. Lost my attention, a few days later... went back. lol There's not a lot to the story. It basically exactly what the blurb says, yes I realize that's a good thing. But, it's a low paced, low angst, low drama kind of story. It's a modern day fairy tale trope, really wasn't my cup of tea, but I can see why others might like it. Grandpa was my favorite. I probably would have enjoyed a book about him more ;)

I've found that a lot of the characters sounded the same...... And I'm not sure why there always has to be a more dominate male. Not every gay relationships have two different male types. Like I said, it wasn't anything that would stop me from reading it just something I observed.

Why 3 stars: It wasn't a bad book and it wasn't like I didn't like it. It was just middle ground for me. I can't rave about it, but I can't knock it either. There's minor editing issues, showing and telling. Formatting was beautiful. Overall, I liked it. Would I reread, nope. Just didn't do it for me on that end. Not sure if there's a second book, but we'll see if it tickles my fancy then.

Also, Walker isn't the only one that does this. I've noticed a trend with lots of authors lately where everyone is gay. They only have gay friend, coworkers..... where are these worlds because I want to live there. I realize the more gay men they have in a story, the more they can spin the series. It just gets exhausting following all of them. lol Seriously throw in a straight friend once in a while. We like them ;) I love when a gay character has a straight best friend(if it's male even better). It breaks stereotypes.

This is the third book in the Road to Blissville series but can be read as a standalone book. Aimee gives us Dare and Wren's story.

Dare believes in fairytales but at this time his life is anything but. He works as a receptionist at Josh's salon and has another job to help pay for the care of his grandfather. Dare will do anything for his grandfather but it does take a toll on him. Dare tried once to seduce Wren but it didn't work out so it let it go. Dare's grandfather was a great character and he supported Dare. They had such a great relationship and it plays out on the page as well.

Wren is a bad boy. He wants to do his thing and just have fun. Commitment isn't in his vocabulary and he likes it that way. He learned to never let anyone get close to him because they always leave him behind. When he meets Dare he wants him but fights it since he feels he would not be good for the man. To Wren, Dare is everything he isn't, loving, caring and just a good human being. As the story goes on we learn that Wren didn't really have faith in himself at all but he was so good for Dare.

Dare is attracted to Wren but nothing comes of it at first. Dare confides in Wren about his issues with money and says that if he could rent the apartment on his grandfathers property that would help him with money so Wren steps up to help. Dare now has hope that things are looking up for him but still wants Wren.

Once Wren gives into his attraction to Dare the heat is turned up to about 100%. Their chemistry is on fire and they truly care for each other which makes it even better for me. Amy gave us both of their POV's which makes the story flow better. We get to know how both men feel and then see it play out on the pages. Wren has issues with his father that you will learn about and with Dare's support he find it in his heart to forgive.

Poor Wren was so messy up from his father that he believes that breaking Dare's heart in the short term will better in the long term when Wren messes up. The best part for me was when Wren realizes that no matter how hard he tries, he can't stay away from Dare and in the end falls in love. Aimee give us a story with no angst but a great love story.

In the end Dare finds out that fairytales do come true and Wren see that he is someone's prince charming.
Aimee also give us a tease on what the next story will be about.

From that review: " Nobody’s Prince Charming is the first story that I read in Aimee Nicole Walker's Road to Blissville series and it looks as though I'm going to have to remedy that because I found this story  charming and heartwarming.  Everything I look for in a contemporary romance.   It's the third i the series but works perfectly as a standalone.  It's not necessary to have read the others to have any backstory here.

This is also a lighthearted story in that there's very little angst or deep drama in the situations that occur there.  Serious ones, yes, but none with the all-encompassing gritty, dark realism found in other stories.  I love those too, mind you.  But it's nice to have warm and light, with a good smattering of fun and laughter (that's where Grandpa and euchre games figures in) for good measure."

Sometimes it is OK to read a story that is just mushy goodness and great family dynamics... and that was this book! I came away with warm, fuzzy feelings and a few scary memories of when Grandma fell and broke her hip... she was a feisty young woman of great years that refused to just give up... she and Dare's grandpa would have gotten along just fine! *grin*

Yes, the fairy tale aspect may have been a bit over the top... but who cares? LOL!!!

I loved the fact that Wren finally realizes that he deserves his own happy ending (get your mind out of the gutter! *snort* LOL!!!) and was able to see that Dare was the one to give it to him... (again, OUT. OF. THE. GUTTER!!!) LOL!!!

Moving on to This Time Around... Milo and Andy?

Glad to be back in Blissville and get a glimpse of some of the characters that I’ve grown to love. We FINALLY get Wren and Dare!!! These two had me so intrigued because Wren was just so broody and mysterious. I love that Aimee Nicole Walker kept this book low key. It was low angst and little to no drama.

Wren and Dare’s journey was a slow paced, slow burn story. I think that I would have liked to see a little bit more heat and passion from these two. I would’ve liked to read about more of their relationship as opposed to Wren fighting the chemistry that brewed between them. But overall, I loved these two together. Dare was just so much fun and lively. He really was just a complete sweet heart and I loved his grandpa. Grandpa was a great touch to this story.

I don’t know but for me the heat factor wasn’t all there. Don’t get me wrong Aimee Nicole Walker can write some steamy sex scenes but I feel like lately they haven’t been as scorching and raunchy as I would have thought or liked for that matter, lol. Especially from these two but a lot of it was just skipped over. For me I think the heat factor needs to be upped a game or two. The story just comes off really sweet and Wren is more prince charming then he thinks.

Hopefully she’s saving all the raunchiness for Andy and Milo’s story, which I can’t wait to read. But this was a good read and a great addition to the series.

This was cute. The characters likable. Basic writing without a lot of nuance or flare.

Story seemed to set up a lot of other stories so I'm sure this isn't the end of the road in Blissville.

I'm officially done with this series. I realize that I do not like this author's voice. Like. at. all. I'm so surprised because I have liked other series she has done but this smarmy, first person take on mistery/ humour has simply been a fail for me. I barely hung on through the curl Up and Dye series and took 3 for the team in Blissville but no mas!
I find myself so annoyed throughout that it takes me a week to read a 3 hour novel. Sigh. Obviously based on other reviews "It's not you; it's me" but Life is waaaaay too short to suffer.
I'm out.
