Apply for a diversity scholarship to attend Phoenix NewsTrain on April 6-7, 2018
The Associated Press Media Editors Foundation is offering diversity scholarships to attend the Phoenix NewsTrain workshop on April 6-7, 2018. Journalists, journalism students and journalism educators from diverse backgrounds are invited to apply. Successful applicants for these competitive awards will have their $75 registration fee waived; they must pay their own travel expenses. Please apply BY FEB. 20, 2018. To apply, complete and submit this online application AND email a resume and up to three work samples and/or journalism-class assignments to David Cuillier, associate professor and director of the University of Arizona School of Journalism, at cuillier@email.arizona.edu. I want to attend this workshop in order to expand my knowledge and gain more educational experiences. Learning from industry professionals is the best way to begin to understand and grow your success in any industry, especially so in the journalism business. Journalism is largely based on connections as well and this workshop will help me to meet distinguished professionals in the industry. Experiences make a person and I aim to be an extraordinary one.

I would use the skills in order to improve my work in my school and in life. I've found that skills learned in journalism are easy to apply in other areas of my life. I love to take my experiences with me and I believe that I will walk away from this workshop with some valuable insights.
