L.A. (via Texas and Oklahoma) quartet Wilderado have released the first single, “Sorrow,” off their upcoming third EP “Favors” out May 25th via Bright Antenna Records.

Produced by Phil Ek (Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes, Vance Joy, Band Of Horses), the introspective rocker begins as a seduction into sorrow personified, developing into a false love, then a struggle with one’s dependency on it before rising to acknowledge the various ruinous ways it affects real relationships with others. The chorus is wrapped as both a warning and plea to another to understand how sorrow will play a major role because it lives in one’s “Marrow / Straight to the bone.” No easy solutions are given, just a hope that the real relationship is strong enough to ride out the storms with the knowledge that it will be strongly defined by sorrow. Fair warning, perhaps, with this reflective awareness.

“We will never forget recording this tune up in Seattle,” the band shared with fans. “The weather was perfectly terrible. We were where Nirvana recorded ‘Bleach.’ … It feels really good to share something we’ve put so much work, thought and discussion into. … It’s been one of those songs that helps remind us why we love playing together.”
