Landon Collins time with the Giants sure looks like it could be over. According to WFAN's Kim Jones, the Giants are unlikely to franchise tag Collins before the deadline hits on Tuesday. The Giants love Collins, but they view the tag number as too high. If Tuesday passes without a tag, the Pro Bowl safety would become a free agent.

Collins would become one of the top players available when free agency officially begins March 13. If he were tagged, it would come at a cost of just over $11 million for the 2019 season. It seems that is too steep for Big Blue, and they would rather spend the money elsewhere.

Collins made three Pro Bowls with the Giants, but is coming off arguably the worst of his four seasons. He missed four games and had no interceptions in 2018.

Collins is expected to receive a lot of interest if he indeed goes on the free agent market.
